Flying North [Closed]

Jacob bounded onto the uneven surface of the snow
"An apology note from who?" he stuffed his hands into his pockets and sauntered after Hira as she recommenced beating a path through the snow drifts.

"Kokkino." She says simply as they exit the treeline. The sun has set and all of the snow is cleared out of the village. "See what I mean? Time is slower."

Jacob frowned, still slightly wary about the bandaged girl, but he banished the thoughts to the back of his mind.
"We'd best get an early start tomorrow if we want to get back to Beacon in good time" he grunted, dropping down into the makeshift path behind Hira.

Stepping into the cleared area, Hira re-folds her armor and heads towards the house, smoke from the fire rising from smoke tunnels carved into the rock. "They'll likely send out a gunship to pick us up. Probably the same pilot as last time too."

"Mm" Jacob grunted, unsure what exactly to say on the matter.

Walking up to the door Hira yanks it open again, stepping in and tapping the snow off her boots.

Jacob follwed suit, stamping to snow free before walking past Hira to tend to the dying fire.

Hira quickly unstrapped her armor, setting it in the corner as she propped the quandao up next to it. "So what do you think of Kokkino? She's in your year I believe."

"Hadn't seen her prior to today" Jacob admitted, casting a few logs on top of the smoldering embers, invoking a loud crackling sound as the fire took. "I had heard a little about her though, just a few snide quips from people here and there, didn't know who they were talking about until I actually met her."

Hira sits across the fire. "I heard she lives in the broken down dorm block. She doesn't have a team and doesn't have any friends. I can see why they say that now that I've seen her."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Jacob looked up from the fire, his unyielding green eyes fixed on Hira.

"She's... unsettling. There's nothing wrong with her but the voice is unsettling. I doubt it's her fault she's like that though." Hira mumbles as she narrows her eyes and stares into the fire.

Jacob lowered his gaze, embarrassed
"Sorry I snapped" he muttered.

Hira smiles. "It's fine. Shall we head to bed?"

Jacob finished rekindling the fire before straightening up.
"I think so" he nodded "the fire should hold out until morning."

Kicking off the pair of pants, Hira starts walking towards the bedroom, peeling off layers of heavy clothing until she's just in her chest bindings and boxers once more.

Jacob cast aside his jacket, hanging it off of Jernulv's haft. He tugged off his boots before walking through into the bedroom.

Hira dives onto the mattress, winding up sprawled out all over it.

Jacob took a more reserved approach, laying back from a seating position on the edge of the bed.

Hira shifts over to give him some space before taking up her place of wrapped around him once more. "I actually kinda wonder what Kokkino looks like under all those bandages."

Jacob shrugged
"I'm sure we'll find out eventually, or not, either way it's her choice."

Hira nods and closes her eyes. "I suppose. Let's get to sleep now, it's late."

Jacob's eyes were already closed. The rhythmic rise and fall of his chest keeping in time with his heavy breathing.

Hira quickly falls asleep, lulled by Jacob's breathing.
