Flying North [Closed]

Jacob averted his gaze to the still glowing fire in the centre of the main chamber, he fed it a few small logs and gave it a prod to better spread the flames.

Hira pulled on the pair of pants and stuck her arms into the sleeves of the robe, tying it around the waist. "We might have to wait a few days for the snow to completely melt before we can go back down south. The Hammerhawk is covered and won't run in this weather."

"I've got no problems with sticking around, I'm not really missing anything. Besides, it's kinda nice to back in the North" he admitted, walking through into the bedroom.

Quickly shrugging on her armor pack and grabbing Convergence, Hira walks over towards the door. "Well that's good. I'll be out for a bit, if you want to can come along."

Jacob nodded
"If it's not an inconvenience."

Hira shrugs and grasps the handle of the door. "Like I said, if you want you can come."

Jacob stood there for a moment, unsure how to respond
"Do you want me there?" he asked tentatively.

Looking over at Jacob, Hira raises an eyebrow. "Do you want to be there?"

He shrugged
"I'm not sure what it is."

"I'm going to visit my parent's grave." Hira says quietly, tightening her grip on the handle slightly.

Jacob walked over to her and took her hand
"Then I'll come with you." he stated, offering the girl a comforting smile.

Hira smiles up at him and shoves the door open, walking through at a relatively brisk pace. "The field of bones is a little outside the village so it'll be a walk."

Jacob followed, closing the door behind him and taking care to avoid the still sizzling pools of water around the doorstep.

Unfolding her armor, Hira starts to push through the unmelted snow, creating a large path in her wake.

Jacob leaned to one side, trying to get a decent line of sight around her
"Did you want a hand with that?" he grunted, raising an eyebrow.

"I'm good." She grunts as she powers through the snow, the armor doing most of the work.

Spreading his weight, Jacob clambered onto the pitted surface of the snow and walked beside Hira as she powered through the compacted snow.

Aftera few minutes they come across a trail in the forest which is mysteriously vacant of snow. "No snow ever blows here. We believe it's the work of the spirits of the dead, keeping their place of honor clean. " She says quietly as she re-folds the armor slowly and quietly.

Jacob slid down the compressed lip of the snow bank to stand beside Hira as she stowed her armour. He peered into the trees with a mixture of curiosity and wariness.

Starting to walk down the thin path, Hira quietly mutters a prayer in the village's language.

Jacob kept his hands by his sides, treading in Hira's footsteps so as to not stray from the path and disturb the consecrated ground.

The trees suddenly break away, a large field that's also missing any snow taking place of the pines. Ahead is row after row of carved tombstones, some ornamented with varying pieces of Grimm bone. Hira keeps walking down the central path, passing all the stones, heading towards the stone at the end of the path. This stone, instead of being ornamented with Grimm bones, is ornamented with two heavy assault rifles propped up against it, shoulder pads of varying sizes, and a large hydraulic piston that has the worn marks of X2A Left Leg Stabilizer Piston on the side of it. "They never recovered the bodies." She whispers as she kneels at the grave, bowing her head slightly and speaking in a hushes whisper.

"They'd have been proud of you" Jacob muttered, standing beside her and placing a hand on her shoulder "and we'll make sure their killers rue the day they crossed the Raziel brood."

Staying kneeled for a few more moments, Hira reaches into a pocket and removes a shotgun shell, setting it on the base of the stone. She stands once this has been done and places her hand over Jacob's. 'Yeah... we will." She mumbles quietly.

Jacob reached forwards and enveloped the dragon in a hug. Knowing the pain she felt and the hole in her life that had yet to be filled, assuming that was even possible.

Feeling Jacob's arms wrap around her, Hira turns and buries her face into his shoulder, leaning on him slightly. "Thank you for being here." She whispers.

"Any time" Jacob promised, his voice a low rumble as she buried her face into his shoulder.
