Flying North [Closed]

Feeling Jacob's arms wrap around her, Hira turns and buries her face into his shoulder, leaning on him slightly. "Thank you for being here." She whispers.

"Any time" Jacob promised, his voice a low rumble as she buried her face into his shoulder.

Hira stands like that for a minute before separating herself from Jacob. "Let's go back now. Time for some reason passes differently here than it does in the village so starting back now is a good idea."

Jacob nodded and stood to one side, allowing Hira to take the lead.

Walking back down the trail, they enter the woods once more, the branches blocking out the sun once more. "It's almost as if time is slower there than everywhere else. It's an odd feeling."

"I can feel it" Jacob confirmed, keeping pace. Goosebumps appeared across the Faunas' chest and arms, not from the cold, but from the unnatural aura possessed by the wood.

Hira suddenly stops and presses her hand against Jacob's chest, narrowing her eyes and sniffing the air. "There's something here... something... not Grimm." She grabs Convergence and spins it, extending the staff and blade as a flash of white blurrs across the path.

Jacob had Jernulv in his hands in a split second, gripping the haft with both hands and extending the weapon ahead of him.
"Do you know what it is?" he growled, staring at the space before him, his pupils shrinking into pinpricks as his instincts kicked in.

Taking a glance left and then a glance right Hira watches for the white something. "I'm not sure but it smells human from what I can tell." She mutters.

Kokkino watched the two discussing from high up in a tree, her visible blue eye gleaming with interest. I wonder if I can actually talk to them.

Jacob sniffed the air a few times, his rancor rising
"Come out and fight me you COWARD!" Jacob bellowed. He adjusted his grip on his axe, preparing to take the first blow that he knew was an inevitability.

Kokkino frowns under her bandages as she hears that. I'm... a coward? That's a new one. She thinks to herself as she steps off the branch, landing in the middle of the path with a light thud. The twin blades hooked onto her back bandages gleam in the dim light, the red blades visible.

Hira braces the quandao when the figure wrapped in bandages with white hair drops down in front of them, it's back turned.

Jacob brought up his axe in preparation to strike
"Who are you?" Jacob snarled, unperturbed by the girl's appearance. He took a step forwards, moving between the newcomer and Hira.

Kokkino looks over her shoulder towards the wolf Faunas. "I am Kokkino Thanatou. And who might be you, warrior?" She asks, the mechanical voice grinding on the air.

Hira wrinkles her nose at the mechanical voice, peering around Jacob's side.

"Jacob Reaver" Jacob called out "of Clan Reaver" the metalic grinding of the girl's voice had come as a shock to him, then again, most technological developments had him a little confused.

Turning on a heel, Kokkino moves, suddenly standing in front of Jacob in the blink of an eye. "What are you and the dragon doing out here? Are you also on a mission?" She inquires, not noticing how close she's standing.

Jacob bared his teeth at the sudden breach of his personal space
"I was about to ask you the same thing" he growled, lifting his axe into her eyeline.

Tilting her head to take in the sight of the blade her blue eye twinkles in amusement. "Do you wish for a duel? Is that why you draw your blade?"

"I draw my blade, because as far as I can see, you have no reason for being here." Jacob drew his lips back further, intensifying his snarl.

The blademaster blinks for a moment before taking a few steps back. "I... see. I suppose I should explain my presence then. I was sent by Ozpin of Beacon to deliver a message to the one named Hira and you actually. He said you need to return tommorow." She says before launching herself up into the branches. "I'll be taking my leave then." She says, the volume on the voicebox greatly reduced.

Hira processes this for a moment. "If we're needed back tomorrow then I'll need to clean off the Hammerhawk." She mutters.

Jacob silently observed Kokkino leave, his expression remaining stern.
"Why would Ozpin send her?" Jacob muttered to himself, stowing Jernulv.

Hira quickly pulls out her scrolls and sorts through some entries. "Kokkino Thanatou, the Whirlwind of Blades. She's a mobility specialist. Let's get back, we'll need the rest if we're going back tomorrow."

Jacob nodded, still a little on edge
"Yeah, we'd best head back."

A low whoosh pierces the air as a knife flies out of nowhere and sticks into a tree roughly ten feet up the path, a note attached to it. Hira walks up to it and dislodges the knife, opening the note as she does so. "Ah." She keeps walking, eventually getting to where she stepped onto the path. She unfolds her armor and steps into the snow once more.

Jacob frowned, tearing his gaze away from the trees overhead
"What was that?"

Trudging through the snow once more, Hira de-activates the helmet. "An apology note."

Jacob bounded onto the uneven surface of the snow
"An apology note from who?" he stuffed his hands into his pockets and sauntered after Hira as she recommenced beating a path through the snow drifts.

"Kokkino." She says simply as they exit the treeline. The sun has set and all of the snow is cleared out of the village. "See what I mean? Time is slower."
