Dr. Steinmetz's Annual Open House [Open]

Having ran over due to the yelling, she eyes the pair as her hand goes over the hilt of her sword, "What's going on with all the noise!"

As feeling spread through Shard's arms again, he starting to rub and stretch them
"Of course you would, you sleazy ass-hat. So, great, what's-his-face thinks this would be good for me, and I'm interested. I'm assuming it's not free and I don't have money, so I ask again. What. Is. The. Catch?"
As he finishes the question, he hears
"What's going on with all the noise!"
Shard looks over to where the voice came from
"The pesky fly again" he thinks
"You again? Didn't I already shoo you once? Make this twice, and next time I'm bringing the fly swatter!"
He picks up Shrapnel and puts it back into its holster

Inigo unstraps the device from his wrist and hands it to Shard.

"Here, why don't you two go play?" Inigo, smiles and jumps away to an overhanging walkway in the room to watch.

Seeing Shard, her grip tightens, evidently the only person keeping her from attacking him would be Inigo, "Sorry. But could you keep this whelps trap shut? Unless you want his tongue severed so he can't talk, I suggest politely that you do so."

Upon hearing Inigo's remark, she would instantly go to duck and slash for his legs, using the two foot height difference to her advantage.

Shard takes the device from Inigo and straps it on his wrist
"I'm ready to rumble anytime"
Shard smiles
"Well then fly, should we make this number three?"

Deciding against attacking at the last second, she jumps back, looking over the suit of armour, "I didn't think you could count that high, after all you are little more than the dirt on my boots."

"HAHAHA, That's funny coming from a shrimp like you"
Shard spits at Aoife's feet.
"Now are we going to rumble? Or are you just going to stand there in fear?"
Shard drew Shrapnel back out of it's holster, and threw it to the side
"I'm thinking a fist fight, no blades"

Shaking from rage, she activates both her Aura and White Dragon's Dust, the intensity of the flames feeling like an inferno even up to Inigo, "You dare... You dare spit at me!"
Aoife would then Charge forwards to clear the six foot difference in seconds, the sheath connecting with the sword to form a spear, with the jets bursting out flames as well, it becomes a spear of pure fire, tip heading straight for Shard's centre of mass.

"Alright, no fist fight?"
Shard draws his cloak around him as the attack connects, deflecting Aoife into the air.
He pulls the device Inigo gave him out, and fires straight above himself (Aoife's right leg)

Flames growing wilder and wilder by the second, Aoife would only be protected through the use of her aura, up in the air she starts spinning the spear, acting like a barrier of metal and flame, aiming to burn away the bolt and deflect it.

The bolt is deflected by the aura. When the bolt is about 3 feet away from Aoife, it begins to hum and turns jet-black.

Aoife begins to feel her body being pulled (mid-air) towards the bolt (now suspended in mid-air) from her right side.

"Well, I'll be damned. The little fly got caught in a web"
Shard stood up, walked over to Shrapnel Shifter and picked it up.
He pointed the tip of the blade at Aoife's throat
"Does the fly submit, or will I have to swat it?"

Laughing as a response, she would keep increasing the flames, waiting until he is just in range to strike her throat when she in turn strikes, the foot extra difference going to burn Shard's sword out of his hands, "Why? Because now you have to come to me where I have the advantage?"

"Ah! I see your classmates are getting a long well."

Steinmetz walks into the room, with a small crowd following closely behind.

Steinmetz looks at Aoife.

"Ah, fräulein, I see you've met my old friend, the Armbrust Kit!"

"You did say before you were skeptical of my Türsteher's practical functions in a real fight..."

Steinmetz takes out a small metal device that looks like a wrist-watch and tosses it over to Aoife.

"Now you can find out for yourself, hohoho!"

((The device is the Türsteher))

Catching the device with one hand, she stops her attack on Shard before it can do any damage to take out the bolt what is keeping her up, jumping away she then shouts to the Dr, "How do you turn it on?"

Shard doesn't give Aoife time to hear or comprehend a reply. In one swift movement, he slams shrapnel into the ground and uses it to spin kick at Aoife's hands, kicking anything she's holding out of them. He lands, brings his arm up and fires a bolt at her shoulder.

The bolt shatters from Aoife's strike.

"Ah, fräulein, activate a small amount of your aura, and envision the shield expanding."

Losing Both weapons, she barely evades the bolt, and now swapping her aura from defence to speed, she goes to pick up her spear and watch, her aura already fully active as she demands in mind and speech, "Time to wake up, shieldy!"

Türsteher lights up and begins to hum, folding out into a fully-formed kite shield.

Shard's Armbrust bolt bursts mid-air, 5 feet away from Aoife. The burst isn't very powerful in terms of shock, however, it lets off a loud high-pitched ringing noise for an instant.

All of the sound in the room has been muted.

Yelping from the ringing, she activates the spear tip's fuel of red dust, making a circle of fire around her to protect herself, then moving to cover her ears from the pain.

At the loud bang, Shard loses hearing. All he hears is a ringing in his ears, making him a little unbalanced. He falls to one knee.
"Damn that's loud" he says, but he can't hear himself talk
He pulls his hood over his head, accidentally activating its night vision as Aoife makes a ring of fire.
The feedback from the night vision is really bright and blinds Shard for a moment. He turns off the night vision. He stands up, and fires two bolts into the fire, then uses Shrapnel to throw surrounding materials into the flame at high speeds.

Smirking as she gets to show off the potential of the shield , she moves it to block the two bolts and evades backwards at the sight of the materials, blocking one before falling back and thrusting the shield into the ground, setting it's target on Shard.

The first bolt stops once it hits Aoife's barrier of flames, and begins to hum loudly (though no one would hear it).

The bolt sucks up both the bits of materials along with Aoife's fire barrier, creating a floating ball of flaming shrapnel.

The second bolt also gets sucked into the gravity of the bolt and when it makes contact, it flashes.

The entire room is lit up with a bright blinking flash ((looks like those gun attachments that flash rapidly, but covers the entire the whole room))

Aoife's Türsteher hits the hard metal ground.

Shard is shot up into the air, 15 feet.

But no one can really see what's going on.

Using the little time she evidently gained from this, she would swap spear into sword and sheath, swapping out the red dust for Lightning and white, respectively, "Give up yet, dog?"

Shard, once again blinded, felt himself fly fly up, and then felt a massive pressure on his back. He assumed it was the floor. At least he had his hearing back now.
He figured in this state, the best he could do was bunker down. But and idea struck him. While everyone was blinded, this was his chance. As best he could, (trying not to touch anything else in the process), he took his cloak off and covered Shrapnel in it. Clipping it up so the blade couldn't be seen, he propped it against the wall, so it looked like he was still wearing it, he got on his knees and felt his way around the walls, to the opposite end of the room (behind Aoife), and crouched, waiting for his vision to come back (at this point, there were very faint blurs).

Swapping back to spear after reloading, she places it with the tip in the air, awaiting for the blindness to go before striking.

The blindness, having subsided enough for Shard's needs, he lunged at Aoife. Grabbing her around the throat and putting her in a headlock, he jams the Armbrust into her back
"Now be a good little fly, unless you want a bolt in the back. Could be just a plain ol' bolt, but from what we've seen, do you really want to risk it?"
