Dr. Steinmetz's Annual Open House [Open]

Swapping back to spear after reloading, she places it with the tip in the air, awaiting for the blindness to go before striking.

The blindness, having subsided enough for Shard's needs, he lunged at Aoife. Grabbing her around the throat and putting her in a headlock, he jams the Armbrust into her back
"Now be a good little fly, unless you want a bolt in the back. Could be just a plain ol' bolt, but from what we've seen, do you really want to risk it?"

Gasping from the sudden choke, she would seem to surrender, placing the shield into the ground, however she would target herself and Shard with the secondary function, aiming to send both of them up into the air, the spear splitting, with sheath falling to the ground, sword coursing with electricity as she goes to hit the metal of his armour, "Risk this, Dog!"

The shock of Aoife's attack made Shard clench up. He fell from Aoife, but not before the muscle spasm made him fire the Armbrust at her from less than point-blank range.
Hitting the ground, he rolled over to his cloak and blade. He put his cloak back on and gripped Shrapnel.
He took a swing, timing it so it would hit Aoife in the waist on her way down.

Seeing a flier and overhearing from a conversation between strangers of a new "Shield-like" invention being showcased at Dr. Steinmetz's workshop, Lucius was quite interested of what it was capable of doing.

Arriving terribly late, he missed seeing Dr. Steinmetz showcase the technology. He asked others who had attended earlier and he was told that the shield was capable of "disarming anyone that attacked it" and "propel people 15 feet up to the air".

That having an almost similar but stronger function compared to his two shields, Xavier and Valerie, he wondered if it would be possible for Dr. Steinmetz to have been the inventor of the concept of his weapons, and also if it was possible that he had met a certain couple with the names Xavier and Valerie in the past. He wanted to ask this to Dr. Steinmetz so he tried to look for him but as he was searching the area, he was then blinded by a very bright light. After the blindness subsided, it seems that there is currently a fight happening. Not wanting to be in between such a heated battle, he immediately distances himself from the fight and observes from afar.

The bolt hits Aoife but doesn't penetrate, instead bouncing off.

When the bolt is inches away from both of them. It erupts in a clear goo.

The two become stuck together by a gum-like substance. It covers both their bodies restricting any movement. The more they move, the more it restricts.

Shuddering from being goo'd, she first tries to cut it, but seeing how futile it is, she sighs and stops moving, "If it wasn't for this, I would've won."

"Oh, you have GOT to be KIDDING ME"
Shard had come for free food and a possible nap, and now he was stuck to a pesky fly.
"WHAT IN THE HELL?"
Shard struggled more and more, oblivious to the fact that each struggle restricted him further
"I AM GOING TO KILL SOMEONE"
Suddenly, Shard snapped and went feral. He stands up as tall as he can, lifting Aoife up with him (Not hard, considering his size and strength).
He headbutts her with all his might and then bites her neck, drawing blood.
Aoife still in his mouth, he charges at a desk, ramming Aoife's stomach into the corner.

Barely protecting herself in time, she puts the shield between her and the desk, using the primary function, it sends 5X as much force back at Shard, hoping it knocks him down as she starts feeling woozy.

Shard, now in the air, uses the weight of his legs to swing himself around so Aoife would hit the ground face first, still trying to bite further into her neck.

Using what little she has of her remaining aura to protect herself from serious damage, falling limp as she loses conciousness however, blood trickling down her neck.

Inigo, pulls out another Armbrust and aims it at Shard's chest. He fires a bolt.

The bolt sinks into his chest-plate and begins to hum. Slowly, his whole body goes numb and his jaw loosens, releasing Aoife.

Inigo swoops down and takes Aoife into his arms.

In his heavy Hispanic accent, "Are you alright, my dear? I am sorry for my partner, he can get a bit...riled up if left unchecked. How is your neck?"

Not responding due to a lack of being awake with blood oozing from the bite-mark on her neck, luckily it apparently didn't get any veins or arteries. Aoife just staying limp in Inigo's arms.

Shard started to regain his senses after feeling a jab in the back, to see he was biting Aoife. He felt weak, and lost consciousness, his head slumping on her shoulder, saliva drooling into her wound.

Groaning lightly as she regains conciousness. Looking rather pale as she tries to bring her aura out, it flicking Crimson briefly before failing again. Finally looking at Inigo with slow movements, she just stares, not mustering the strength to speak.

Seeing Aoife attempting to activate her aura, "No, no, my dear, you must rest."

Aoife finds herself in one of the guest rooms at the Steinmetz estate, with Inigo at her side sitting reversed in a chair. ((When you sit in a chair backwards, using the back as an armrest))

Inigo checks her wound beneath a bandage. The bleeding has stopped. He then changes her bandage with a fresh wrapping.

"You were very impressive out there. Very...strong."

"I am sorry I did not intervene sooner, but the giant tends to escalate rather...rapidly."

He tilts her head up, and brings a straw to her mouth.

"Drink. Your body needs fluids."

"We tried to hook up an I.V, but your aura stopped the needles. You really are an impressive one, my dear."

Not commenting, she starts drinking from the straw slowly, apparently trusting him enough not to spike the drink. Realising exactly where she is, she flushes and moves her legs to make sure no one can see up the skirt.

Aoife realizes that the clothes she has on are not her own.

"Oh, I'm sorry, your clothes were covered in blood. The doctor had those prepared for you."

Shard wakes up in a bed (a surprisingly rare occasion for him). He tries to piece together what happened so far.
Wanted free food, assholes at a party, fight with annoying chick, and...
He rolled over onto his side.
"ouch"
He realized his armor had been removed, but he still had the Armbrust.
"well well well, this could come in handy"
He unstrapped it and hid it in his cloak.
"I guess I just need to find some bolts for it. Now which direction was the workshop?"
He stands up, now wearing his armor and cloak, and Shrapnel Shifter in its holster.
He walks to the closest door and opens it, only to walk into the room containing Inigo and Aoife
He stares into the room in disbelief that his luck could be bad enough to meet this crazy chick three times in one night. He slams the door (loosening the hinges a little) and walks to the door at the other side of the room.

Turning a deeper shade of red, she doesn't notice Shard walk in as she flinches at the loud noise, moving the sheets up to cover her other than her head, staring up at the cieling.

"It seems our giant friend has finally come to"

Inigo gets up from the chair.

"I'll be but a moment, my dear. Stay here and rest."

He follows Shard into the other room.

Shard hears the door behind him open.
"Of course, he had to follow me" he thought.
"Psh, if you're expecting something, I'm gonna need more of a hint than you standing in a doorway" he scowled.

"Why do you care?"

"I don't remember much past shooting a bolt into crazy chick's back. By the way, did I kill her? Hope I did" Shard mumbled that last part.
