Robbery Gone Wrong [Closed]

Brac turned to see Athenasia disappear down the stairs, her fall having taken her over the edge, "Shit!" He exclaimed. He emptied the rest of his clip as he ran across to the docks, firing to keep the men hunkered down in their cover. He slowed as he reached the stairs, taking care to make it down the stone steps safely. He reached the bottom, where he found a battered Athenasia. He placed the safe down next to her and sat her up, "Are ye alright, lass?" He asked, pulling out his second pistol, "Can ye make it to the ship?"

Athenasia rubs her left leg and notices a small bruise as a flash of lighting lights up the area. She sits up and says, "Ya, I'm fine I can make it, let's get going!"She stands up and begins to run towards the airship and motions Brac to follow quickly

Brac hoisted the safe back up on his shoulder, and he spun just in time to see a guard appear at the top of the stairs. He fired three shots, then turned back around, not waiting to watch the man's body slide down the stairs. The pair made it to the ship, and Brac quickly opened the door, ducking inside and placing the safe down in the cargo bay. He rushed to the cockpit, closing the doors and turning on the engines, "Buckle up! It's gonna be rough out there!" He called to Athenasia.

Athenasia rushed into the ship after Brac. She flew into her seat and buckled herself in and began panting loudly and she held her leg up inspecting it. She said, "Go go! We have to get out of here stat!"She laid Aswrey down next to her and began to look out at the lightning striking different areas at random.

Brac nodded, "I know, lass, settle down." He said in a calm voice. He pulled back on the stick, launching the ship into the sky. He swung it around and the ship leapt away from the docks. Brac relaxed a bit, "Now, how're you doin? Ye alri-" He said before something rocked the ship from behind. Brac briefly lost control, and the ship nosed forward into a dive towards the ocean. He quickly righted it, but the ship was now tilting to the left, "Shite!" He exclaimed, "They must've shot something at us!" He cursed his luck, yanking hard on the stick to keep the ship somewhat righted.

Im fine just a little pa-"Athenasia stopped mid sentence as something rocked the ship. She winced and let out a small yelp as the ship nosed forward and close to the ocean. She said, "Pull up!"but she knew there would be no easy way to recover from that shot or whatever they were hit by.

Brac kept pressure on the stick, managing to keep the ship flying relatively straight, "It's alright, we should be fine just so long as we aren't hit by anything else." As if fate wanted to laugh in their faces, Brac felt a shudder and, a split second later, an enormous thunderclap. Light flashed in front of the cockpit window, and a number of instruments on the dashboard shorted out in a hail of sparks, "Argh!" Brac exclaimed as sparks flew in his face, leaving a number of burn marks. His ears were ringing as he pulled harder on the stick, trying his best to keep it flying, but the damage was too severe, "Dammit, lass, this might be it for us." He said, being honest about the situation. With one hand, he reached in his pocket and pulled out a cigarette, placing the butt in his mouth. He grabbed the lighter in his pocket and lit it, blowing out a puff of smoke, "Sorry I dragged ye along on this." He said.

Athenasia sighed with relief as she heard Brac say they would be alright unless they got hit with something else. Just as she began to relax a flash of lightning hit the ship and she winced as sparks began to fly off the dashboard from shorted out switches and various items. She said as calm as she could to Brac, "I enjoyed it, we may have not completed it but at least we did the best we could at it..."She took a mint out of her pocket and threw it in her mouth and closed her eyes, she thought to herself in the silence of her mind, "This is it, the end of Athenasia Lockehearth...and what have you done with your life, stole,cheated and lied...Could've done better..."

Brac sighed, exhaling a cloud of smoke as he did so, "I guess we can't ask fer any more. This is a hell of a way to go." He said as the ship dipped a little. He looked next to him at Athenasia, Well, not gonna live to regret it. He leaned over, turning her head to face him and, before she did or said anything, kissed her softly on the lips.

Before Athenasia could open her eyes again she felt a warm sensation on her lips and she almost freaked out but then realized what it was and relaxed and let her own lips move as she kissed back. She thought to herself, "No regrets here!"A tear escaped her eyes as her life was still flashing before her eyes like the lightning that struck. "It was a good run..."

Brac smiled a bit at the girl, doing his best to gently wipe the tear that fell from her face, "Don't fear death, Athenasia..." He said, looking towards the front window to see the ocean rushing up at them, "Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home." Brac closed his eyes and began softly humming, his mind at peace as he released his hold on the stick.
