The Recovery of the Blademaster [CLOSED]

Sweat permeated Kokkino's bandages as she stumbled once more, gasping at the sudden twinge of pain in her side as she attempted to twist into a spin strike. Completing the spin, the white haired sword user let out a loud cry of anger as she threw the two training swords to the ground, fisting her bandaged hands in her hair. "Why can't I get it right?!" She hisses out, her visible cyan eye blazing with rage while she sank to her knees.

Kylee LeRoux, fiery heir of the LeRoux family fortune halted in her training to examine the event was unfolding across the training hall. She shouldered Pyretalon and wiped her face with a towel before walking over to where the bandaged white Haired girl was bellowing rhetoric at the ceiling.
"Hey" she tried "you ok there?" she asked, smiling comfortingly.

Pushing herself to her feet, Kokkino quickly composes herself, lifting up the dull weapon blanks and looking at them in her hands. "Yeah, just perfect." She muttered to herself as she prepared for another spin slash, tensing up the muscles in her legs before launching into the air, becoming a whirlwind as she came down upon the training dummy with the force of a hurricane. A loud gasp of pain comes from her throat as the blades get lodged in the ballistic gel, making her land funny.

"You don't look ok" Kylee stated, moving forwards to try and steady her, she noted the bandages "did you just get out of hospital... what happened to you?"

Kokkino sends a burning glare towards Kylee, her chest heaving as she holds her side in pain. "I'm fine." She snaps, tearing the training blades out of the ballistic gel.

"You know it's ok if you're not" Kylee said comfortingly, unable to tear her eyes away from Kokkino's bandages, wondering if they were the reason her performance was a little offish. Possibly what she had been in hospital for lay beneath them.

Slamming the blanks of high tensile titanium onto a table sitting at the side of the training area, the Blademaster picks up her better weighted Twin Riptides. "I'd rather not think about it. I slipped up, and now I have to train harder than ever to get back to where I was. I'm not even supposed to be out of bed yet."

"You escaped form the infirmary" Kylee's eyes widened "you could really hurt yourself" she stated, taking a step closer to Kokkino "I know you don't know me, but I don't think your team want you to train yourself into oblivion."

With a flourish the Whirlwind of Blades clips the swords to her back bandages, spinning around to face Kylee. "I don't have a team. And you think I don't know that? I failed defending my friend and she's missing her leg from midthigh down. I must become stronger." She states, her gaze lowering.

Without another word Kylee walked forwards and pulled Kokkino into a hug.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know... please forgive me" she pleaded.

The single visible eye of Kokkino widens as Kylee pulls her into a hug, her heart hammering at the sudden contact. "I-it's okay?" She stutters out, a confused look going through her gaze.

Kylee released the other girl and smiled broadly
"Sorry" she apologized again "may have gotten a little carried away, I'm Kylee by the way" she said, offering her right hand, still grinning.

Kokkino nods slightly, the confusion drifting out of her gaze as she shook Kylee's hand. "Kokkino Thanatou. I'm that person everyone thinks is creepy."

Kylee cocked her head to one side
"Why?" she took a moment to sheathe Pyretalon before resuming eye contact.

The white haired maneuver fighter starts counting off on her fingers. "My voice, my appearance, I don't live in the dorm, etc etc etc. The list goes on and on. I've learned to just ignore it by now." She states sadly.

"You mean you wear those all the time?" Kylee gasped, before quickly clasping a hand over her mouth. "Sorry" she whimpered, before continuing curiously "what happened?"

Kokkino looks to the side. "White Fang. They killed my adoptive father. These weapons used to be his." She says with the volume on her new vox turned way down before reaching up and unwrapping the bandages around her face, the intensive burn scars becoming visible. She closes her cyan eye before opening her eye with the iris imprint. "This is why I wear bandages all the time." She says with her soft normal voice, wincing as she speaks.

Kylee took a step back in shock, but steeled herself. The last thing this girl needed was another person to be afraid of her.
"It's not so bad" Kylee asserted hopefully.

The Blademaster's piercing gaze watched Kylee as she saw the scars. "It's... not just my face though. It's pretty bad."

"I'm sure it's not as bad as you think it is" the redhead promised, and if that's all people see it's their loss, you seem like a really nice person."

A sighs escapes Kokkino's mouth as she begins to wrap herself up again. "I try to be, but sometimes I kinda lose it."

"Happens to the best of us, and I'll bed the consequences of me using it are more severe than you losing your cool" Kylee gave a knowing smile, not divulging too much as yet.

The albino cocks her head. "What do you mean by that?" she asks, a spark of curiosity in her visible eye.

Kylee held out her bare arms and closed her eyes, activating her semblance. Her skin immediately began to heat up. Within moments the air around her was noicably hotter and her skin glowed red with searing heat. Kylee had to be careful, controlling her breath, making sure that she remained in control of her particularly unpredictable Semblance. After a few moments the deactivated it. A few grey wisps of evaporated sweat swirled around her. The Redhead smiled
"See what I mean?"

Her eye wide, Kokkino stares in wonder. "That's amazing...!" She mumbles out. "You're like a blowtorch!"
