Kylee stood in one of the numerous courtyards within Beacon academy Pyretalon in the grip of her right hand. She had abandoned her heat regulation suit and had instead donned a simple tee shirt and shorts combo. With a series of sharp movements she performed a series of harsh, two handed strokes on the open air with the blade, before reverting back to her starting position. Most of the training halls were full, so she had opted to work outside. She repeated the actions a second time, her breathing reserved and steady, a few strands of her dark crimson hair flopped over her eyes, she blew it away before performing the exercise again.

Claude was practicing his aim atop one of the courtyards, standing at the top of a pillar he was aiming downwards at a sheet he had set up with a tiny target, drawn on it the words colossus' weak spot surrounded the target, pinned to the ground and the other end tied to a tree, the wind provided excellent movement for him to aim at BANG BANG BANG the sound of his rifle burst through the air. he fired 3 rounds of a special kind of re-usable practice bullet he had been working on as to not damage anything.

Kylee straightened up sharply and turned in search of the noise's source. She frowned at the youth perched atop a pillar
"Hey, could you throw a silencer on that? I'm trying to concentrate" she called over, trying not to sound too mean. SHe then turned around and played through the attacks again.

Claude heard someone call out to him, upon locating the girl he apologized though he was slightly offended that someone would ask him to throw a silencer onto his weapon as he was training for what could be one of the biggest missions he's ever go on, literally. My apologies, I would if I could, though i'd have to build one around the shock suppressors, as well as one that would work with a weight reduction mechanism that i'm currently working on... it's not an easy task. He called back out to her, politely.

Kylee shrugged
"If you can't help it, I guess I can try and block it out" she replied. She could feel her surface temperature rising as her semblance sparked a little, she was a little embarrassed. Pushing the thoughts to the back of her mind, she let muscle memory take over and recommenced her kata.

BANG BANG BANG Claude fired three more shots, before picturing a colossus of a Grimm look right at him from where the sheet he set up was. He hesitated for a moment before rapidly firing six more shots at it before taking a deep breath to calm himself. It was a strange feeling for him, for the first in a long time, he felt nervous.

Kylee sighed, apparently high calibre rifle shots were not as easy to ignore as she first thought.
"Hey" she called over to the shooter "if you don't mind my asking, why aren't you doing that on the firing range?" she dug Pyretalon's tip into the dirt and leaned on the pommel of the blade, awaiting the response.

Claude calmly looks over to Kylee and says, I'm going on a mission where I plan on Aiming at a small moving target in an extremely dangerous setting, high up in the air. I Doubt the shooting in a straight line at still targets would simulate the same kind of situation.. he says calmly, Expertly hiding his anxiety.

The redhead shouldered her sword and began sauntering over to him
"Sounds pretty serious" she noted "and I agree with you about the whole shooting range thing. I've lost count of how many petitions I've sent out to get a skeet shooter or better targets. She stooped to pick up her shield before minimizing it into a vembrace. "So what's this mission then? Something for school or..." she trailed off, awaiting the reply.

Claude jumped off of the pillar, landing gracefully onto the ground. Have you seen the news reports? A giant Grimm has burst out from one of Schnee's dust mines this thing is massive in size and covered from head to toe in armor... with only one small weak spot. Claude looked at Kylee with a serious stare as he pulled up his personal scroll to show her the reports.

She thumbed through the reports before letting out a low whistle
"Looks like you'll have your hands full" she stated. She inspected the diagrams a little closer, scanning the images "this looks kinda familiar" she muttered, before handing the scroll back to Claude "I'm Kylee by the way."

It's not going to be an easy task, that much is certain, a monster of that size is capable ov leveling a town just by walking through it. Claude says in a serious tone.

"Well, so long as you don't let it reach one, I'm sure everything will be ok" Kylee smiled comfortingly, giving Claude an affectionate punch on the shoulder "I'd best let you get back to your target practice" she smiled, shouldering her blade and beginning to walk away.

Indeed, I probably should, what is it that you're training for? Claude asked, somewhat puzzled about the punch in the arm.

Kylee whirled around, scratching the back of her head and displaying an embarrassed smile
"Oh, nothing really, I'm just training. It pays to be ready" she added lowering her shield arm and shrugging slightly.

I suppose you're right, you never know when something might happen, or when there might be a job to to. Claude says calmly, before hi himself turns around to go back to training Perhaps we'll see eachother around some other time. he says waving his hand as he walks

"I hope so" Kylee smiled, before giving him a two fingered salute and walking back to where she had been practicing earlier. Taking a deep breath, she resumed her drills.
