| [Tuesday, week three]
The wooden axe felt strange in Coran's hands but it was the best he could find, sure it didn't shoot rockets or anything but it did the job. As much as he wanted to use Mogul Khan, this was just a practise fight with Roy and he didn't want to hurt him too badly. Still he couldn't get over how light it was, he was too used to the weight and feel of his own axe. Most people would need both hands to lift the wooden axe, let alone wield it, Coran swung it around like it was a broken branch with one.
Coran was shocked when he found out that Roy was attending Beacon, the image of the sickly outsider was still in his head even after all those years. Still it seems that Roy was no longer sickly, and that his old nickname twig no longer applied so he wanted to see how well he held up in a fight. Roy did manage to survive the attack on the village, and Coran had heard about how he defended the hut where the children were, which was something Coran respected Roy for, not that he ever told him that.
While he waited for Roy to show up the barbarian decided to warm up a bit by bashing in a training dummy with the axe. There's something extremely satisfying about beating up an inanimate object, Coran couldn't find the words to describe the feeling but letting out all his rage without having to worry about it hitting back brough Coran pure joy. He didn't stop until the head of the dummy came flying off. Coran beat his chest and roared victoriously, yeah he was warmed up alright.

| Roy walked into the training arena, spinning a wooden-bladed partisan style spear in his left hand, and switching it to his right behind his back. He was good with spears, though the wooden spear lacked the weight of his real Blitz Chain. He had actually watched Coran go at the dummy for a bit, nearly laughing. It wasn't funny, funny, it would have been a happy sound. It was good to see such enthusiasm.
Good to see him happy, he supposed. The attack on the village had been traumatic on everyone, and Coran's father was missing. Hell, Roy had become a hunter to live up to the stories the old man had told him.
"Coran, are you ready to start this?"
Roy was still absentmindedly spinning the spear. It was a difficult, intricate movement, though Roy did it like an old pro, even though he wasn't focusing on it. The spear crossed in front of him, behind him, and changed hands constantly, all the while Roy looked rather bored, as if he was just waiting for something to happen. Really, he was waiting for Coran to attack him already and get the fight started. He felt...alive, when fighting. It was strange. He had always valued academics over what he considered barbaric until he actually fought.
His life had changed forever.
He wasn't wearing his armor, what with these being wooden (Though dust treated, so the superhuman students wouldn't break them.) weapons. He wore his usual ensemble. Blue jeans, black shirt, brown jacket and a pair of hiking boots, having left the journeyman's boots in his dorm for the time being. He didn't want to kick Coran's ass TOO bad, now did he?

| Coran didn't notice that Roy was there until he was done beating the crap out of the dummy. He watched Roy spin his spear for a while, he knew that was going to problem so he needed to get in really close so he wouldn't be able to use it. "Damn right I am." With those words Coran charged, roaring as he crossed the distance between him and Roy. He held the axe with his right hand and raised his left to protect his face is Roy decided to hit him as he charged.
Once he got close enough Coran raised his axe to bring it down on Roy's right shoulder, the goal of the attack was to hinder Roy's ability to use the spear later on. Regardless if the attack connected or not Coran would press on, this time his attacks were aimed at Roy's ribs he'd strike his right side then his left side with quick attacks before finishing up with a heavy strike at Roy's left leg, if the attacks land Coran would jump away from Roy and wait for his attack. Usually Coran would not stop in a fight to give the other person a chance to attack but seeing as this was more of a friendly spar, he would not be as...barbaric as he would be in a fight against a Grimm.

| Roy practically yawned. He hadn't realized just how slow Coran was, until he sidestepped the first swipe of the wooden axe. It was almost absurdly easy to duck under the next swipe, and pivot on his heel, swiping his spear from behind at Coran's legs. If his attack landed, he would immediately straighten himself up and put the wooden spearpoint to Coran's throat.
If it succeeded, he would ask Coran, "Are you ready to take this seriously yet?"
If it didn't, he would pivot again, stepping over the leg strike, and try the sweeping move again, this time from a standing position, and if he managed to dodge it by jumping, he would bring the spear upward. That oughta rustle his jimmies, if you know what I mean.
