Field trip to Savage's Peak 2.0, Day 1: Rough Morning [Plot]

The fire from the ship slightly illuminating the area in a orange glow, Hoshi looked up 'I wonder if there's any supplies left in the ship' she thought. Hoshi looked back down at the mention of her name to see Petra limping towards her. The mention of Daisy made her zone out a little, replaying the sound of her head impacting on the tree. She heard the rest of the sentence although she had adopted a look that suggested she was day dreaming. She snapped back to reality, "Daisy should be fine, I hope, she hit into the tree at some force when I tried to help her get down from the tree and what do you need me to do" she said her look turning to one of eager.

Petra nodded, she put her arm over Hoshi's shoulder and lead her directly under the airship. "Odds are the rest of our supplies are up there. I can handle the fire, but I need you to lift me up there... Gently please." Petra limped away, positioning herself directly below the massive hole where most of the adventurers had fallen from. "Whenever yer ready."

Hoshi trusted Petra's judgement and hoped that she was right about the supplies. She crouched down and prepared herself to lift her up. "Here we go then" she said hugging her leg's tight and lifting her up, she wasn't very tall and had to hug her down low on her leg's. She was causing herself severe pain due to her bruised chest and couldn't hold on for too long and began to breathe quickly avoiding deep breathe's which were causing her more pain.

During all this Drake remaining in silence, carefully rotating his arm, making sure that the shoulder was somewhat back in place. The metal framework of the harness he wore was battered...a problem he would have to attend to later. At least the armoured case survived the fall...he scooped it up, slinging it over his side and pulled the bladed cloak about it.

Then he started to pace, glancing about, keeping his eye on the surrounding foliage. He was clearly not comfortable just waiting around. Others were right. They were going to attract attention and the chances of it being unwanted were high. Metal clinks as armoured plates rustle, each step slow, deliberate and careful. This is not the walk of someone calm or patient. This was the walk of something that was likely to snap in due time.

Carefully he thumbs the ignition of the Talons, little flickers of flame dancing over the blades and he pauses, glancing off toward the distance a moment, trying to get a glimpse of the sun and its current position.

"Time. I might suggest we figure out the time it is...it will likely determine the movements and likely whereabouts of predators..."

Once she was high enough, Petra grabbed onto the searing metal of the airship. She dismissed Hoshi, she wouldn't want to be anywhere near the scorching mass of metal and jet fuel. Pulling herself up with one arm wasn't easy, but years of smithing and combat training helped significantly. By the time Petra was entirely on the ship, her entire body glistened, her dragonskin protecting her from the heat, the smoke would be a problem though, Petra covered her nose and mouth with her shirt and squinted through the thick black smoke. She limped through the ship, walking on the wall and eventually spotting what she was looking for. On the far side of the ship were three camp bags, a little singed, but otherwise unharmed by the fire. Petra coughed and grabbed the bags, throwing them one by one down the hole in the ship to the jungle floor below.

Mao walked around almost aimlessly looking for any bags that may have fallen. He wasn't sure how many there actually were, but it was obvious that there should be at least one for every member of the party. Searching around the immediate area, he found nothing. Perhaps he wasn't trying enough, perhaps he was still in a daze. He made his hands into fists and lightly tapped both the cream and bottle of pills, feeling as if they would be all he was good for at the moment. May have to expand search area... He looked towards the airship intending to search near it, but seeing as Petra and Hoshi were there, he decided it would be a waste of time and energy. Especially energy. He turns to the rest of the group and scanned over them trying to access their injuries and concluded that Malina and Moseph both would probably need the pills the most. With that, Mao walked to them and, as he neared, he took out the bottle of pain killers and lightly rattled it in front of him.

Hoshi began to walk away from the smouldering wreck that hung in the tree canopy. She walked over to Daisy to see if she had come round yet to see her still on the ground unconscious, she then heard the sound of bags of supplies being thrown about turning around to see a pile of supply bags building up below the wreckage she quickly jogged back to the wreckage. Hoshi could only carry two bags at a time having one in each hand. she grabbed two from the growing pile and brought them over to where the group of people were "Help, if your injuries permit, I can't carry all of these..." she said pointing at the growing pile of supplies below the airship. She then jogged back over to the airship and yelled up to Petra "How many more are there up there..." she then turned towards the others beaconing them over

Malina quickly walks over to the bag and wraps Manticore around the handle and looks up at the flaming ship before quickly moving away again. As soon as she was a sufficient distance from the ship again she set the bag down and unzipped it. Inside were her extra vials of poisons and medicine strewn about haphazardly in the bag. "Not....good...." She looks around the bag. All of the liquids were crystal clear, save for the aphrodisiac which had a slightly red tint to it. "Alright...."She said, moving aside the vials and taking out the small, sorted carrying case at the bottom. It had cracked open, causing all vials to fall and spread over the bag. "Busted..." She said as she placed it aside and picked up one of the other cases. This one was significantly less damaged however still had several of its vials inside, including three sedative vials. She picked up one and replaced the low vial with the newer, fuller one. She placed the two cases back in her bag and zipped it back up before slinging it over her back. Turning to the rest of the students, she brought  her tail around in front of her and smirked. "Alright, who needs some help from the good doctor?" She says with a slight sarcastic tone to her voice.

Sighing both physically and mentally, Moseph limped over to the pile of bags and used his functioning arm to encompass them in his Parasite, balancing on one foot while he was at it. He then took up the 'walking stick' and made his way away from the wreckage. When he was at a good distance, he retracted the slime and took up his own bag, sliding it onto his working shoulder and moving off.

Alright, that's all there is here. Petra cautiously stepped through the quickly growing flames to find the hole. Okay... Now how am I getting down..? Petra thought as she peered through the smoke and down the hole at her students and the jungle below. "Listen up! Here's what we're gonna do! We find out which direction the mountain is, then we get ta the top of it! We got one an' a half days before the airship ta pick us up comes by, til then, we fight our way throu-" Petra's body was protected from the fire, but not the thick black smoke it produced. As such, Petra didn't see the small puddle of fuel she was standing in and that caused her to slip, falling through the hole. She didn't even have time to think before she hit the back of her head on the rim of the hole, knocking her unconscious instantly. Once again, she plummeted from the ship to the jungle floor.  

Malina turned around just in time to see her teacher's body slam against the jungle floor. She paused, for a moment, looking up at the burning wreckage that had been their airship. She quickly realized something she had been to busy to realize before, they were stuck here. No airship, no communications, no people for as far as she could even imagine. 'There's gotta be a way out of this....yeah...' She was stuck for an indefinite amount of time with one of her...less than helpful teachers, three first years, and...whore's boy. Perfect. She suddenly shook her head, snapping herself out of the daze and looked back down to her teacher. She quickly jogged up to Petra's body and knelt down, putting one hand above her head to have at least some protection from the heat, not that it helped. Manticore then slid it's flat side around and underneath Petra's right arm, lifting her body up, as Malina grabbed onto her left arm and began to drag her teacher away from the fire. "You're the one who's supposed to be protecting us, not vice versa...useless piece o'-" '-shit.' While she didn't verbally complete the sentence she made a comparable statement by simply letting the teacher's body fall against a tree once she had made it a sufficient distance from the fire. Ignoring any of the other's, namely the three firs years, she bent down beside her teacher as Manticore moved toward Petra's left bicep muscle. "Sudden pain should wake you up, should it..." She said with the slightest smirk. "And if it doesn't...oh well." She says as Manticore's chamber cycled through to the empty chamber. The stinger then moved slowly towards the inner part of the muscle and making a small incision slightly down the flesh. As soon as the incision had been made, Manticore moved around again and started moving slowly inward through the cut, eventually reaching the muscle. 'Let's see if pain can wake you...'

Daisy opened her eyes to see the canopy far above, she realised she was on the forest floor, she slowly sat up, holding the back of her head, it still hurt like Hell from hitting it against the tree. She looked around and saw various people doing various things, she was happy that she didn't see that anyone was dead. She looked around for Hoshi and panicked that she couldn't see her at first but then she spotted her. Daisy noticed Hoshi standing underneath the airship, she slowly got up and limped over to Hoshi, ignoring everything else, only focusing on getting to Hoshi. Daisy finally made it over to her and grabbed onto her shoulder, using Hoshi for leverage. Hoshi, what's happening? Why are we here? She sent to Hoshi telepathically, trying to keep herself up.

(Bit of confusion for this - I think a bit bold to assume Petra just fell before getting reactions - assume this occurs before Malina tries to be a wake up call perhaps?)

Drake was odd. Despite all this he was remaining perfectly calm, almost emotionless, just listening. Listening to the sounds of jungle, the voices of the others, the sounds of bird call and the insects. By his nature he was not a natural hunter, his own abilities being better suited as a sort of speed based brawler...but he was observant, calm and very patient. So hearing the voices above...hearing Petra's voice shift in tone as she fell and then go abruptly silent would provoke a response.

He moved, quickly, the bladed cloak slicing around him momentarily as he set off in something of a light footed sprint, making the most of the fact that the Talons were effectively blades and could shear through undergrowth at a very efficient rate. His cold black eyes glanced up, picking out the falling shape and he growled, kicking up to start to clamber, to start to gain some height so that he could get a decent enough kick off to catch Petra's falling form.

He needed some height as a tumble would likely be required, too low to the ground and he'd just be taking another heavy impact...and he'd already only recently slammed his arm back into place. No panic. No shouts of alarm. Just a cold, logical assessment of the situation with a quickly formulated response.

Besides...Victoria and Indigo would likely kill him if he didn't choose to react at this point.

Malina was right in her assumption that pain would wake Petra, though perhaps she should have done the task from a distance, as when Petra woke, she wasn't herself. Aware only that she was being injured, Petra's huntress training and combat instinct took over, forcing her eyes to shoot open and her fist to make a harsh acquaintance with Malina's face, packing all the strength of both her combat training and simply her job, which required lifting heavy metal one handed. After she recovered from the punch, Petra grabbed the freshly bleeding wound, growling before looking for her attacker. The next instant, Petra's face went from a look of unbridled fury, to one of a child separated from her parents. She didn't speak, but looked around, disoriented and confused, taking in the environment as if she'd never seen it before. "... Wha- Where... Where am I? Who the hell are all you? What the hell is going on!?"

Malina stumbled back as the punch connected with her nose. As she does so, Manticore suddenly rips backward, out of the wound and making another scar across her skin, causing it to now be shaped like a T. Luckily she was able to bring her aura to defend herself before it connected with the bone and broke, although it did leave a small bruise on and around the tip of nose. As she felt her nose to make sure it was still straightened out she looked back at her teach. "What the hell is wrong with you!? I was trying to help you wake up and this is how you thank me!?" She moves up to her teacher, looming over her with Manticore poised over her shoulder and her eyebrow raised. "Let's see...You knocked yourself out by being idiotic enough not to watch your footing on an airship, I dragged you to the tree with the intention of waking you up and fixing the wound, and then you punched me. Does that about sum it up?" Malina asked with a frown, knowing full well she was talking to her 'superior'.

Petra should have looked less confused, listening to Malina's explanation, but instead she only grew more confused. "... Airship..?" She looked up at the wreckage. "... Airship. That's an airship. And you say I fell from it? No, that doesn't make any sense." Petra shakily got to her feet, holding her aching head and looking around. "Where's my team? Who are you? Oh, and where the hell am I?" Petra flexed her hand, eyeing the redness Malina's face had given her knuckles. "Sorry for that strike, by the way. Instincts."

Mao had watched as Drake attempted to break Petra's fall. Attempted. He had wanted to as well, but his body seemed to be ignoring any tasks it deemed to strenuous. He would have gotten frustrating at the notion, but, for now, his mind was still in the process of making sense of the current situation. Walking over to Drake, he put the bottle of pills back into a pocket and get them rattle around with each step of his right leg. Everybody seems to be helpless right now. Can we really survive out here against Grimm? He shook his head, trying to get the thought out of his mind. He froze and winced at the pain that it caused. These thoughts feel foreign.

Upon reaching Drake, Mao patted him on a shoulder as if to say that it was a good effort and hopefully he wouldn't hate himself for not being successful. Mao's ears perked up when Petra had reawakened, and he was not exactly fond of what he was hearing. This better be some kind of joke. It must be. He sighed. Not good.

Not paying attention to the most likely painfully retarded antics of others, Moseph sat down at his bag and calmly took out a refill for his electronic cigarette. Switching the chambers, he would now be puffing marzipan-flavored smoke. Taking out a cloth and brush to follow, he quickly cleaned his glasses, giving the broken lens a quick wipe as well before getting up and brushing his suit from the dirt that has gathered on it rather copiously.

Hoshi saw Petra fall from the ship and heard the sound of her head hitting the ship and then impacting the ground. Hoshi held Daisy up after feeling something tugging at her leg which prevented her from going over to Petra. She would of pulled Daisy into a hug if she didn't have bruising all over her chest "Well i tried to save you but... well you swung into the tree trunk and hit your head.... Hard" she said in reply to her question, remembering the sickening sound that her head make on impact to the tree.

Daisy was relieved when Hoshi helped her up, it took most of the weight off of her sprained ankle which helped a lot. Daisy forced a pained smile to Hoshi, trying to show her thanks but equally trying to show that she was alright, despite her not being alright, but she wanted to make sure Hoshi wouldn't worry or panic about her. When Hoshi gave her answer Daisy wasn't satisfied, she knew about hitting her head but was confused about how she got to the floor. I know but... How did I get on the forest floor, did you carry me down? She sent to Hoshi telepathically.

Drake's response was strange. Far colder than normal, the glimmer of blue in his eyes that had indicated his fairly recent emotional turmoil fading to the inky blackness that normally was there and silently he glances to Mao, saying not one word. He was clearly unimpressed. He was clearly not amused or impressed by the current situation.

He shrugs, indifferent, pulling his bladed cloak over him, keeping the Talons worn and ready as he glanced about. It was pointless people arguing. It was pointless people trying to explain the situation. Someone had to take control else they would all be in a poor situation. Whatever had taken them down would possibly circle back at some point and others would be drawn the the results of the crash. They simply could not stay here and squabble.

"Enough!"

His words are cold, a sharp, barked order as he glances about at those around him.

"We cannot stay here. We cannot sit around and expect someone to come to us. We are exposed, likely to attract attention and need to be moving. Like it or not we still have a purpose to this field trip and we perhaps had best stick to that until something else comes up. Pointless standing about and arguing over something outside our control."

Malina nearly snapped around at Drake as he spoke. 'A purpose!? Sure let's go and observe the nature now that we crash landed the airship! Great god damn plan!' The thought jolted through her head like a zap of electricity. She began to turn her body to face Drake before stopping short as another thought crossed her mind. ''We need to get moving.'...He has a point.' She thought as she turned slowly back to Petra. "He's right." She said, facing Petra however addressing everyone. "We need to get somewhere safe for shelter...especially before nightfall.." She said as she looked up at the Blue sky between the dense treetops. "We'll talk about where you are once we find shelter..." She said as she looked back to Petra before turning around to face the others in the group. "We need to get to the mountain she mentioned earlier..." She paused for a moment to take a look at her classmates that had come on the trip. "Any of you able to get above the tree tops and tell us where the mountain is?" She asked her classmates before grabbing the bag with her poisons and pulling strapping it to her back.
