Lost and Forgotten

Roan inspected the room further until Rien drew his attention to the doors. He thought for a moment "We can always try forcing it open...or there may be a mechanism to open it somewhere around here" he offered his suggestion while he began to search the room the the mechanism that would hopefully open the door.

As he saw the lever Roan wore a puzzled expression before reaching for the lever on the right but stopping inches from the handle. He has no idea if it even opens the door or what it does. He stopped before calling out to the group "You all might want to see this"

Rien walked through the ruin and took note of the two levers, "Well, looks like if we want to get through this, we need to pull both levers....which will probably release a trap." He said.

Maria, like in most situations, looked far too cheerful for the situation. She raised her fists to her shoulder level, giving an excited hop and a small squee. "Hah! What good is a trap if we know it's coming? Bet they didn't think... Of... That... Oh... We don't really know the trap do we?" Maria's cheer dropped, her look akin to a child that had gotten nothing for Christmas.

Roan moved over to the lever on the right and wrapped both of his hands around it before looking at Sage. "Are you going to help?" He motioned to the other lever in the room before bracing himself to begin pulling when Sage did. It appeared that they were going to be stuck in this ruin for a while now so he was glad he bought extra filters to sort out his toxic breath.

"And we never will know if we don't try," Sage said exasperatedly. "Right, Roan," he said as he approached the left lever. "You guys are so boooring. Don't you people have a sense of adventure?" he asked. "Uh, brace yourselves or whatever," he teased as he gave it a tug. To his surprise, it didn't budge. "Um...what?" He swiped his hands through some loose dirt to give them better grip and pulled yet again, but still it wouldn't move. "Okay, well it seems this one is jammed."

While Sage had struggled with his lever, Roan's moved with ease. As soon as Sage had finished speaking, the door on the right began to shake and rise up. Within seconds it had receded into the ceiling, revealing a dark cave.

"Well, you did something at least." Rien noted, "So, who wants to go first?"

Athenasia eventually gave up on reading the faded text and moved over to see what the others were doing. She saw a dark cave emerge from a door on one side and saw Roan to the side of it doing something and figured he opened the door, she heard Rien ask who would go first and Athenasia responded by saying, "I could go first, teach you guys a thing or two about fighting..." She grinned as she attempted to make herself look better and braver.

Maria watched with wide eyes as the door rose to become flush with the ceiling. Her intrigue quickly turned to childlike delight as she spotted the open door, just begging to be used. After all, what good was a door that no one was walking through? No good at all! Trotting briskly past Athenasia and her fellow adventurers, Maria drew Shock in preparation for whatever might be on the other side of that poor, un-walked-through door. A moment later, Maria passed the threshold of the stone entryway, looking around for any traps, treasure, curses, skeletons, grimm, curses, or missing celebrities. "What're you guys waiting for? Come on, the room's harmless! I think!"
