Revelations in the deep [Invite only]

Again Jacob found himself baring his fangs at the pup
"I wasn't reared yesterday" he growled. But Aria's comment had him a little more confused "what Ideas would I get from this?" he grunted "it's the first I've heard of the stuff, and so far the only idea I've gotten is that it both smells and tastes horrible."

Philip grins then jumps into the boat and takes a seat.

"I'll be ready when you two are done feeling each other up. Don't worry though, take your time. Just pretend I'm not here or something."

He chuckles so quietly that only Jacob could hear it.

Jacob's ears twitched
"Keep teasing" he goaded "and I'll use you for chum" he threw Jernulv, the huge axe spun in the air a few times before burying itself into the deck just a few short centimeters shy of where Philip was sitting. He knew it was just harmless jesting, and his response was in kind.

Philip grabs the axe by the handle and examines it then lightly tosses it back to Jacob. A grin threatens to show itself.

"No need to throw things."

He makes a slight "Tsk Tsk Tsk" noise.

Aria sighed as she finished up and caught jernulv herself. "Make nice you two, We should save our hostility for our enemies." she handed jernulv back to Jacob and climbed onto the boat. this is going to be a long day she thought, as she moved over to the driving controls.

Jacob dropped down into the boat, adjusting his footing as the sudden impact caused it rock. He propped Jernulv beside one of the seats and walked over to the prow
"That was nice" he informed Aria.

Philip lets out a yawn and starts tapping his guns to his kneecaps in anticipation.

"Let's be off then. No need to wait any longer."

He glances at Jacob's shorts and chuckles one last time.

Aria started the boat up and guided it out into the water. It drove well, seemed to be something that was maintained by the previous owner often. When they got far enough out, Aria stopped the boat and picked up a surf board that she got from the same shop that she got the boat. "okay, I'm off then. One of you take the controls, and the other man the gun....try to play nice." She didn't bother explaining herself at the moment, she just slid her sword onto her back, the only thing keeping it there was a string tied to the sheath that looped over her chest.

She drew Needle and took a deep breath before sliding the blade across the palm of her hand. She seemed satisfied as her blood started spill out. She lifted the blade from her hand and flourished it a bit to flick the blood off, then sheathed it again. If you want to catch a fish, you're gonna need the right bait.. she thought to herself as she dove into the water with her surf board. Shortly after she jumped in and started to paddle out, the see became unsettled, the waves started to become more fierce, shaking the boat that Jacob and Philip were on and making it hard for Aria to get out where she needed to be. After a couple minutes Aria was riding one of the waves that was kicked up by the approaching grim. The blonde girl let her bleeding palm glide into the rising water that she was riding, testing a theory that she had. The last Grimm that she fought with Jacob, responded almost instantly when blood was shed....this one seemed to be no different.

a large shadow could be seen rising up from under the boat that Jacob and Philip were on, it slowly became bigger until finally something erupted from the water, almost capsizing the fishing boat. The Grimm looked like a Direwhal...white in color, and at least twice the size of the boat that they were in. It's mouth opened and it cried out for the blood in the water. The sound from it was ear piercingly terrible, and the smell of it's breath was worse, almost like it poisoned the air with it's song alone. If a sailor were telling the tale of the three Beacon students fighting the great white, then he would say that the whales cry sounded like the song of wailing dead men. Where it's eyes were supposed to be, were nothing but bloody open sores that painted the water as it swam towards Aria.

Jacob gripped the boat tightly as it was tossed around by the huge Grimm. Jacob had grown more and more nervous since Aria had begun using herself as bait. The huge beast cut through the water in what appeared to be a crazed frenzy, as though all it could sense was the blood. Taking Jernulv in hand, Jacob transformed the weapon into shotgun form, firing three ice infused shots into the water, each one forming a small iceberg on the undulating water. With a snarl Jacob threw Jernulv aside and dived into the water, latching onto the Grimm's dorsal fin and giving it a firm punch near the blowhole to try and alter its course, away from Aria.
"GET ON THE GUN!" he bellowed back to Philip.

Philip narrows his eyes and jumps up to the gun. He fires the boats gun as well as his own at the direwhal using his semblance to avoid shooting Jacob.

"Get out of the way so I can get its head!" He yells at Jacob as he shoots the grimm several more times.

"JUST FIRE" Jacob called back "I've got something else in mind" he snarled, giving the beast's blowhole another harsh punch. The beast reared up in the water, turning away from Aria and focusing on trying to shake off the attacker on its back.

The whale crashed through the far side of the wave that Aria was on, thrashing about as it did. Aria spotted Jacob clinging to The grimm's back as it went by. If he didn't even know what sunscreen is....there is no way he knows how to swim! she thought as she immediately steered her surf board towards the direwhal and drew needle from it's sheath. "There is something to be said about thinking before you leap, Jacob!" She rode the wave strait into the whale and forced Needle into it's side, though the pain caused it to veer off again and pull her off the surf board, the only thing keeping her on the fish being the sword in it's side. "please say you have a plan here?"

Jacob gritted his teeth and nodded. The slippery surface of the Grimm's skin was proving harder to grip than he had initially thought. He turned to Aria
"I know what I'm doing" he assured her, before turning to the small boat bobbing on the waves a short distance away "FIRE THAT BLOODY HARPOON" he roared.

Philip growls and fires the harpoon at the direwhal's head area, using his improved vision and coordination to be sure he wouldn't hit Jacob.

"THEN GET OUT OF THE WAY!"

The harpoon plunged into the creature's pallid flesh. With a grunt, Jacob released his grip and launched himself forwards, using his fist like a mallet, he struck the end of the haft, causing the ting to sink deeper into the direwhale, it screamed before diving down into the crushing depths. Jacob had enough time to swear before he hit the water. He swallowed good pint of water before he stopped sucking in, he broke the surface, with a yelp, frantically treading water and trying to grab onto something.

Aria pulled her sword out of the Monster's side as it dove underwater. She was still thrown several feet under the harsh waves it was creating, enough to see that the creature was still active, and winding up for another pass at them. She swam back up to the surface after she regained some sense of up and down and made her way over to the floundering Faunus and started to help him stay afloat.. "we need to get you back onto the boat before that thing comes back. We won't stand a chance like this."

Philip runs to the controls of the boat and growls.
"How in gods name do I control this thing!?"
He punches the steering wheel and runs back to the harpoon.
"Hurry back! I'll cover you!"

Jacob calmed down a little and tried to get a fix on the Direwhale. The large dorsal fin broke the surface and powered through the water towards them, more like a shark than a whale. Jacob pushed himself away form Aria and began to move a little closer to the whale, emulating the movements Aria had been making. It wasn't great swimming, but it was passable
"No time" he coughed "Aria, get back to the boat, bring it around, I'm slowing you down" he called back to her. His semblance activated as he prepared to defend the others from the rampaging whale as best he could.

Her eyes narrowed sharply at Jacob as he barked at her to leave him, it was clear that she was more than frustrated with him because of that. "I'm not gonna abandon you, Jacob." She latched onto Jacob and took in a deep breath, her eyes shifting from Jacob to Needle. "you can forget it....you and this Grimm can both eat me! " She pulled herself and Jacob underwater, where they could see the monster coming towards them. The grimm opened it's mouth as it neared the two, and finally drew them in whole. The inside of it's mouth was absolutely awful, Fangs lining the inside like the maw of a shark. Though Aria didn't intend on being in there long enough to be chewed on.

As they entered the whales mouth, Aria quickly stabbed needle strait into the center of beasts tongue, causing it to thrash to the surface and howl in pain. spewing blood stained water everywhere. As the water emptied from the whales mouth and was replaced with fresh air, Aria swung Needle again and finished severing it's tongue completely.

Jacob pressed his palms onto the roof of the whale's mouth and pushed hard, forcing the beast's jaws open, he gritted his teeth as he held the creature's mouth open
"This thing stinks!" he grunted through his barricade of teeth.

Philip swings the harpoon towards the direwhale and fires towards its eye. He aims his desert eagle and shoots the whale in the head a few more times.

The monster coughed up Jacob and Aria as the harpoon landed dead in the creatures eye. The following desert eagle fire seemed to be what put the nail in the coffin though, the bullets finally sliding though the blubber and passing through the creatures brain. Aria was having a difficult time swimming back up to the surface at the moment, being inside the Grimm's mouth was disorienting. She managed to get her barrings after a few moments though and made her way to the surface. philip is a hell of a shot she thought as she looked back at the motionless direwhal.

Jacob surfaced, coughing hard and hacking up a mouthful of water
"Not bad pup" he called over to Philip on the boat. Moving towards the boat in a clumsy doggy paddle. Latching onto the side he hauled himself aboard, flopping out on the deck and breathing hard, he closed his eyes and smiled absently to himself, happy he'd managed to make it out of the water in one piece.

Philip grunts to Jacob while he leaves the harpoon to take a seat at the back of the boat.  He sets his guns beside him and pulls out a small book from his back pocket. Philip reads in silence instead of offering a proper response to Jacob.

Aria grunted as she climbed onto the boat with the other two and grinned a bit at Jacob. "well...I hope you enjoyed your first swimming lesson." She sighed and layed on her back and stared up at Philip. "thank you, Phil, for having our backs. I don't think we would have been able to manage today without you." She gave a friendly smile, and tried to pretend that she wasn't still covered in salt water and whale blood.

Jacob rollled over onto his front and got up
"What do ewe do about the body?" he asked, nodding towards the silhouette of the beast's corpse floating just below the surface.

"Perhaps we should just leave it here and let some smaller Grimm eat it?"
