Cat and Fox [Closed]

The city of Vale was quite a sight to behold, thought a certain cat. It was incredibly large and almost maze-like to someone who was visiting for the first time. Except this cat wasn't visiting, she was going to be living here very shortly. All she had to do was find her way to Beacon, except that in and of itself was the problem. The cat girl couldn't seem to find her way there, as she kept getting lost. Either that or the city was just too big. For what she estimated was the past hour and a half, she had been wandering around Vale, hopefully in the right direction. Even after all that time, she still had no clue where to go.

"They couldn't have made this place any bigger..." she mumbled to herself as she sat atop one of the roofs. Her sitting position was quite strange, especially for a bipedal creature. Rather than sitting on her behind like a normal person, what she considered a sitting position was that of an actual cat's sitting position. It was if she was an actual cat, rather than just a cat faunus. Either way, she was still lost and confused. Hopefully she would get some form of indication as to whether or not she had been going the right way.

At the moment, she was currently sitting atop a small building in the industrial district in the same pajamas she wore everywhere. It seemed right now that the area was completely devoid of life, besides herself. There weren't any other people as far as she could see, and it seemed that she had no indication of where she was other than a few signs telling her the name of the street she was on. Despite possibly being a way to tell where she was, she still didn't read them, as names didn't matter now. Right now she just needed a direction, or somebody who knew where they were so she could follow them somewhere.

A figure walked out from underneath the industrial building a certain cat was currently perched upon, ears twitching and tail flicking slowly side to side as the bottom of her boots scraped against the gravel-covered floor, looking up she sniffed the air and tilted her head; but quickly lowered her head and went on her way. In the dark, it wasn't hard to not see the figure, clothed in bright white and red. A beacon for the lost kitty, perhaps?

The sound of boots scraping against a gravel road began to fill the cat's ears, causing her to look towards the source. A figure clothed in red and white garments walked along the ground beneath the cat. Her black ears and tail were among the the aforementioned colors, indicating she too was a faunus. A slight grin formed on the cat's face as she began walking along the rooftops just above the woman walking along the street. Most of the buildings here were equally level, with very few being higher than the one next to it, so there wasn't much trouble for her when it came to keeping up with the faunus woman wherever she was going.

It had been such a long day for Yifioh, having not once left her home in the remote regions of Vale's industrial zone. She only ever came out at night now, of course, to do what little shopping and browsing she could until returning before the sun rose. There were some shops that wouldn't serve her due to the fact she had ears and a bushy tail, but most were not as bias and were usually the ones open late, as if expecting Yifioh to walk in at some point. Which she would. The walk would take a while, of course, but the industrial district had it's outlying towns and bits of settlement, with the occasional super market or deli. Usually, if Yifioh couldn't get any groceries, she would simply buy a surplus of readily made foods and bring it home to keep refrigerated.

It would only be for a few more blocks until she and the accompanying feline would come across one of their first signs of civilization, streetlights and motor vehicles in the distance.

Bianca watched as the woman headed towards a more civilized area. Surely there it would be difficult for her to keep up. The buildings would be too tall, and it would be much more difficult to be inconspicuous. So she decided to jump down, probably making her presence known. With a small leap, she jumped from all fours down onto the streets below, almost making no sound whatsoever. Pretty sure that the woman heard her, she sat on all fours, out of reach of any lights so she just looked like a shadowy figure, nothing visible but two yellow eyes.

Except she was sure that the faunus had night vision so the point of trying to look inconspicuous was completely eradicated.

"Hello." she said, greeting the woman as she sat on all fours like an actual cat. She wasn't sure how the woman would react.

Yifioh stopped and turned around to regard the new figure, eyes blinking slowly as she slipped two hands into her pockets, right leg slightly arched forward as the right tip of her boot rested on the pavement. Black furred ears twitched slowly as her head slowly turned towards the right, examining the new arrival with roving eyes. Lithe, Adept, Acrobatic, Small, Stupid, Quick. ... The fox faunus shrugged, turning around to go on towards the town. She didn't come through here to converse with some vagrant on the street, she needed provisions and supplies, not conversation.

"H-Hey! I wanted to ask you something!" she said as she began following the woman, treading on all fours. "Wait!" Bianca caught up to the woman, treading to her left and just behind her. "I need to ask you something, do you have a moment?" she asked, hoping the woman would be kind enough to at least answer her question. Her hands and feet made little noise among the pavement as she followed just behind the woman.

Though she could tell the vagrant was now actually following her, Yifioh didn't turn her head to regard the feline, one whom seemed to take the role of their own race a bit too seriously. Or maybe she was just addled in the head. At her plea, Yifioh turned her head to regard the following kitty, giving her a look of obvious disapproval. Just being near another faunus marked her as a target for some idle words of racism, but a quiet sigh left the fox faunus's mouth as she turned her head back around and pushed open the door into the supermarket. Assuming the feline followed, she would finally answer her.

"What." She flatly asked.

Upon entering the supermarket with the fox, she pushed herself up so she was walking on just her two legs, as to not draw any more attention than just her in her pajamas already would. "Do you know where Beacon is?" she asked. "I've been trying to find it for the last hour and a half... I think... but I've had no luck. Could you point me in the right direction, or possibly take me there?" she asked. The last part was probably too much to ask, she thought, but it was worth trying anyways.

She frowned at the mentioning of Beacon, a tiny little subtle frown that no one but her would know about, Yifioh nonetheless nodded. "I know where it is," She would say as they walked over towards the produce section of the market. Stopping in front of a batch of onions, she picked one up and lifted it up to her nose, sniffing it. "Why? Are you a student, there?" Yifioh would now ask, wondering why a student of Beacon Academy would come all the way out here from the main city. Reaching out for a plastic bag, she pulled it off the roll and put four onions inside, tying it up in a neat knot. Then she walked on to look at the green onions ..

"I am. I'm not from around Vale, so I got lost shortly after arriving here." she said as she looked around at the areas around the market. It was mostly empty, save for a few people here and there. Bianca didn't pay them much mind, as they didn't pay her much attention either. She didn't quite watch the fox lady too much, as she didn't want to seem creepy, or at least any creepier than she had already been.

As the feline girl answered, Yifioh had already bagged several sticks of green onions and potatoes. Holding the three bags in her hand, she began walking towards the next aisle, grabbing a hand basket along the way to place her groceries into. Approaching the cartons of eggs, she held out the basket for the feline, waiting for her to hold it for her before picking and opening a carton up. She would do this for several minutes before finally settling on two cartons, leaving the others she had examined right where they belonged. Taking the basket back from the feline, she gently placed the cartons inside and began walking down the aisle to get to the meat section.

"I see. Your in the wrong part of the city, then." Yifioh would say, tail slowly swishing back and forth as she looked around at the aisles on both ends, double-checking to see if she needed anything else.

Bianca held the basket when she was handed it, patiently waiting for an answer. Upon receiving her answer, she still had yet to get a direction. "Could you please tell me which way Beacon is in?" she asked. She had until tomorrow to get there, and she had to travel the rest of the way on foot. Not to mention she'd have to go to sleep at some point. Her face twisted in dismay the more she thought about how this entire time she hadn't made it that far.

Yifioh was silent as the feline asked her question, her frown growing as the discomfort transformed into a subtle annoyance. Her only thought since coming out of her home was to go out and buy food, not have a conversation and give answers to a lost feline. Holding up her hand, she caught the attention of the butcher and pointed down, as he came over and peeked into the window; she pointed towards a slice of beef, minced pork, and fish paste. Turning around as the butcher went to work, her lips became flat and expressionless.

"Yes."

"O-Okay." she said as she waited patiently for the fox lady to finish her groceries. It was, and had been, clear that she was irritated and didn't seem to want to help the cat, but she desperately needed directions, otherwise this entire ordeal was pointless. She watched as the butcher went to work, and she patiently stood there, waiting. While she didn't mind waiting around, she didn't want this to take any longer than it needed to. But she would still patiently wait, her creeping impatience not visible on her face whatsoever.

As the sound of her chosen products being placed on the counter was heard, she reached over and took them, dropping them into the grocery bag. Looking away from the feline for the moment, she looked down to check if she had everything she needed, then looked back up; visibly frowning. "Garlic. Go get me two heads of garlic." Yifioh would ask, handing the girl that was about to ask her to do something she really didn't want to do, a minor chore. With that said, the fox faunus began walking again with grocery basket in tow, towards the register.

"Alright..." she said before quickly walking off in the direction of the fresh produce. It wasn't long before she found the garlic, picking out two of the best looking heads of garlic she could find over the course of ten seconds before swiftly returning to the fox. "Uh, here you go." she said, handing her the two heads of garlic. She didn't mind helping someone else, but this felt kind of mean to her. She still needed the help though, so she would put up with it until the fox decided to put out with the information.

By the time the feline had returned, Yifioh would have taken the garlic and placed it down onto the counter. "These too." She would say, looking up at the cashier, whom promptly tapped the new items into the register and bagged it alongside the rest of her groceries. Pulling out several lien cards, she placed them on the counter and picked up her groceries; turning her head to look at the feline girl. "Come." Yifioh would simply say before walking out the exit. When they were both outside and together, she'd look around, making sure the street was empty; then sighed. "Follow me."

With those brief words, the fox faunus began walking back towards where they came from. Back to her home so she could drop off the groceries and get the feline girl out of the way so she could make dinner, take a shower and sleep.

The cat followed the fox, dropping back to all fours upon leaving the supermarket. "Alright." she said as she followed just behind the fox. "You don't like to talk much, do you?" she asked, looking up at the fox with curiosity. She hadn't met someone who was this quiet before. Then again she hadn't met many people anyways. Back home she never really left the house, as she was too busy sleeping or because no one was awake since she was mostly nocturnal.

Yifioh shrugged at the feline girl's question, the only sound coming from her person were the boots on her person, which sounded very metallic as they crunched and tapped along the pavement. The journey wouldn't take too long, familiar streets passing by as they walked up the same path they walked down on. Turning her head, the fox regarded the feline with stare, wondering why she found it necessary to go back down onto her hands and feet when she was clearly capable of standing and walking on her two feet. Was the girl just stupid or did she not notice what she herself was doing?

Thankfully it was getting dark and the streets were not as crowded as they normally would be or else Yifioh would go to great lengths to make the girl stand and walk on her two feet instead of crawling on the floor like some household pet. She turned the corner, knowing the feline girl would follow for the sole purpose of fulfilling her goals. To get to Beacon. As they neared the building the feline had perched upon no more then ten or so minutes ago, Yifioh pushed open the door with her foot and guided them into a dusty and abandoned workshop.

Strewn about were scraps of junk, rusted shells of what looked like cars and dangling chains hanging from the rafters above. Not a home one would usually associate with Yifioh, whose clothing had neither a splotch or speck of dirt on it. The fox faunus didn't seem concerned however, stepping towards the center, she slid the heel of her boot into an obscure hole and with a gentle nudge and a mechanical sound, a hidden door slowly opened. Light filtered out, shining the dust that coated the floor as Yifioh jumped down into the hole. Clearly she was leaving the feline girl behind as the echoes of her footsteps resounded from below.

After several seconds, the hidden door slowly began closing, giving the feline just barely enough time to jump in.

Bianca understood she looked strange treading on all fours, but should something happen that caused her to need to run away, this was the best position to be in. Surprisingly enough, she found she could move faster than most people by simply propelling herself forwards with hands and feet.

Upon reaching the abandoned shop, she looked confused until the fox opened up the secret door that lead beneath the building. She seemed surprised that it was there at first, but that was quickly replaced with slight panic as she quickly followed the fox down the hole.

As the feline landed on her two feet, or four limbs, the door above slid shut with a dull thud. A small tunnel extended down about ten meters before it disappeared, the tunnel itself was lit on both sides by lights which was lined from the start of the tunnel all the way down to the end. A door hung open near the end, the only door if the feline decided to finally get a move on, of which inside was a set of dimly-lit stairs leading down into a closed door. When the feline pushed it open, she would see a modest looking home, large enough to give a feline like Bianca room to run around in.

It was .. surprisingly well-decorated, fancy and clean. Yifioh was at the kitchen counter, bags of grocery placed on top. "Close the door." She would say, not looking at the feline, her back turned.

Upon entering the room and closing the door behind her, Bianca gasped in surprise as her head snapped around, looking at everything around her. It was a well kept house, assuming you could call it a house, much to her obvious surprise. "What? How is something this nice under something so dirty and run down?" she asked as she finally decided to stand and walk around on all fours like a normal person. Who knew that a simple ask for directions would lead her to discovering this place. As her gaze wandered from one thing to another, she tread over to just a few feet behind Yifioh, wondering why she had brought her down here in the first place.

Yifioh wasn't one to voice her intentions immediately, actually, she never said anything about what she was going to do other then agreeing to helping the feline girl out of her predicament, but the fox faunus never said she was going to do it now. She was still a person, a hungry person that had been waylaid by a wandering kitten, the feline was lucky she wasn't desperately hungry; lest she give in to a more feral taste for flesh not sociably accepted. As her hands were busy unpacking the groceries, going back and forth between the refrigerator and what not, Yifioh decided she would answer the girl's questions and whatever comments she might've had.

"Time, effort, and money." She would answer simply, keeping the conversation brief and letting no information past what she needed to know, out.

"I see..." the cat said in response as she continued to look around the room. "It's really nice. I like it." she said, complimenting the woman. "But you could have just pointed me in the direction to Beacon when we left the market, and you could have been on your merry way." she said, looking over to the fox to see how she reacted. Her yellow eyes traced the fox's features and movements. What had this woman brought her here for? Why was she even living in this place, hidden away in an unlikely place? Was she hiding something?

Questions like this formed within Bianca's head. She could very well just paranoid, which she wouldn't put past herself for being, but a few of the questions that filled her mind were valid questions that needed to be asked.
