Journey To The Tower of Grimm [PLOT]

DM: Your move is successful and you manage to kill one of the two beowolves approaching from the front.

As soon as the first beowolf had stalked out of the darkness, Caihn had whipped the Lunar Flute from the case on his belt and brought it up to his lips. He began to play an erratic tune, activating the Flute and sending a sheen of his white aura down it's length and activating the dust along it's length. While the others fend off the first strikes of the pack of Grimm, Caihn continues to play, until he has formed four orbs of celestial energy. He stops playing, and swings the flute towards a pair of beowolves as if he was swinging a sword, sending the four orbs of energy at the monsters. He sends one behind each of the beowolves, before launching them down towards the beowolves backs. Immediately after, he makes an uppercut with the flute, sending the other two orbs up towards their chests. If the beasts didn't dodge, they would be crushed by the concussive force coming in from both front and back.

DM: Your attack is successful. You crushed the spine on one Beowolf  from behind and break the ribs of another that tried to dodge the first assault. The broken rib cage pierced the heart of the beowolf killing it. Enemy count is now at 16.

There numbers lowered by an entire third, all beowolves rush at the group at once.

*Cheshire waits for the right time. As the first beowolf that initially tried to come at him charges forward, Cheshire times it so when the beowolf is only a step away he would shift three feet to the left then rotate 360 degrees with Helsingr raised in order to attempt to slice at the back of the beowolf's neck with the back blade then rotate another 90 degrees and thrust forward with the frontal blade of Helsingr and stab into the chest of the nearest beowolf. If successful will then proceed to shoot two bullets into the chests of the two beowolves that were previously immobilized.*

DM: Your move is is almost fully successful. Your dodge and rotation attack strategy cut deep into the back of the neck of the beowolf and stab the belly of the other. Your two shots hit the tow immobilized beowolves who are unable to dodge in the chest. You kill the first beowolf with the slice across the neck and the immobilized two with your shots but your stab to the belly on the remaining beowolf only left it fatally wounded. The beowolf remains alive but slowed down and in pain. Enemy count is now 13.

Ron keeps an eye out, paying attention to his fellow adventurers and their fights. He makes sure that none of them are in danger, although the guy who called himself Walter seemed to be overreacting.

Might as well finish off the one Cheshire didn't kill. he thinks to himself as he runs to the slightly limping Beowolf. He swings Mânie to the side preparing to slice the Beowolf. As he passes it, he brings Mânie in an upward swing, not unlike an uppercut, and stops a few meters away from the Beowolf.

DM: Your attack is successful. Too wounded to evade your attack, the beowolf is struck fatally by your attack. Enemy count is now at 12.

Aeden scans the group of beowolves picking his next target. When he decides on a random one he makes sure hes on steady ground and anchors himself by pushing off a rock. Aeden extends the hidden blades and channels lightning dust through his weapon. Not going to take any chances with this one. Aiming Deception X precisely Aeden fires the main blade at a beowolf ready to reel it back in to be impaled by the other two blades once the main blade sinks into its flesh.

DM: Maneuver is successful. You have killed 1 beowolf. Enemy count is now at 11.

Tsuteto's swords returning back, he grabbed them, the blades now extending from the base of his hands. As his arms dropped, so did the last Beowolf before they all started to rush in. "Desperation," he said, raising his arms again, "Pathetic." With a kick off the ground, he dashed between two, lashing out with the metal straight from the tips of their noses, slicing all the way to the last piece of fir on their tails. Immediately spinning around, he threw the blade from his left hand at a third one, next to the one from the now left Beowolf. "Done with the games boys."

DM: Attack is successful. Enemy count is now at 9.

Walter joined in on the mini-genocide. He dashed forward with one hand holding the other Nuke Schneider behind him, as if he were ski-dancing on ice. The enemy numbers were thinning, to the point that their victory is almost in sight. Walter saw four incoming Beowulves attacking from different angles to maul the group. There was an opening between them and him so he has a clear shot. "Alright, alrighty, we're gonna march through this hell-storm". Walter fired four Schneider bullets from the gun he used to kill his first Grimm; two each at two different Beowulves. One pair of bullets would be aimed at the head, but the other pair will be aimed at the "heart". Walter then shifted the gun he just used to his back and switched it up with his other Nuke Schneider. This time, he fired three bullets. Two bullets aimed at a third Beowulf's head. And one final bullet aimed at the fourth Beowulf's torso. The last bullet was just for fun; he didn't intend for it to kill the Beowulf. It was just meant to severely harm it. The bloodlust had risen in Walter Dean to the point that he would die to listen to the sound of his Nuke Schneider bullet shredding through the flesh of a Grimm......

DM: Your attack is successful. You have killed three beowolves and immobilized another. Enemy count is now at 6.

Two more Beowolves charged at Chiu as she stood over their fallen ally. Lashing out with her left hand weapon this time she snared the first's waist before leaping forward and retracting both whips. No longer anchored to the ground, Chiu rocketed towards her target. As she neared the Beowolf her right hand weapon smashed into it's head before her momentum carried her past the first and towards the second Grimm. Falling just short of the second Beowolf, Chiu tucked into a roll before rising before her target and unleashing a flurry of strikes to it's knees, hips, and head.

DM: Your relentless onslaught is successful Enemy count is now at 4.

Caihn takes up an aggressive stance as the beowolves leap towards him and his comrades, with his flute held in his hands like the hilt of a sword. Caihn then focuses his aura, and a white blade of aura extends from the tip of the flute, expanding and forming into a glowing longsword. He dashes towards one of the few remaining beowolves, bringing his blade up in a diagonal slash, swinging his aura-blade from the beasts left leg to right shoulder. He then swings the blade in the direction of another beowolf to the left of him, and launches a flurry of celestial energy needles at it, aiming at the biggest target, the chest.

DM: Your attack is successful. Enemy count is now at 2.

DM: In the midst of the skirmish, a beowolf leaps up and pounced on a member of the group, biting into his leg and drawing blood. Kalmora Horizont has been seriously injured.

As Cheshire saw one of his teammates getting bit, he immediately raised Helsingr and tried to shoot the grimm in the head.

DM: The move is successful. Enemy count is now at 1.

Ron looks around at his fellow adventurers and seeing that they have eliminated most of the Beowolves, he looks at the final one, thinking So they left be the scraps. Oh well, I don't mind.

He charges at the Beowolf with Cupiditas and Mânie in each hand, and stabs both through the Beowolf's chest. "You made the mistake of fighting us." he said in a quiet tone to the Beowolf.

DM: Your attack is successful. The final beowolf dies with a whimper. Enemy is eliminated. You have 1 fatally injured player.

After scanning their surroundings for a moment, Cheshire inspects his group once he was sure nothing else was around. He walks towards Kalmora, staring down at the bloody gash on his leg. Taking out his scroll, Cheshire quickly sent a message then looked back at Kalmora. "Somebody will be coming shortly to take you back to Beacon."

Before Kalmora could protest, Cheshire raised Helsingr suddenly and pulls the trigger. Kalmora jolted, his face cringing from the terrible wound on his leg. The bullet flew harmlessly pass him him. "If you couldn't even dodge that, then you will only be a burden to our mission."

Waiting in silence for an hour or so, some medics from Vale arrived and took Kalmora back.

The group continue on in silence, Cheshire in the lead again. With the tensity and pressure of the silence almost seemed overwhelming, Cheshire broke it by speaking to Tsuteto without even turning around to look at him. "I told you I was not a leader, nor is my judgement worthy of one."

Cheshire's face remained expressionless and unreadable, but one could tell that the impact of a person he had chosen himself to come on this mission being injured in such a way so early has torn at his pride beyond understanding.

After walking for what seemed to be hours, you made it through the Emerald Forest by mid afternoon. Cheshire nods as he looks at his pocket watch seeing that you were slightly ahead of schedule. Cheshire thought about taking a break but decided it better to wait until you reach Alibaba Town in two hours. You continue walking down the road for another hour and a half. Just as the group started getting restless, they see a little girl carrying around a basket in the distant. The girls spots the group and scampers towards the group.

Little girl: "Will you buy some wares? It won't cost much. I work really hard to make it."

Looking at her basket you could see raggedy riding cloaks sticking out of it. While the immediate thought of just ignoring the girl crossed by most people's minds, Cheshire pulled out a few pieces of lien and drop them into the little girl's hands. She smiles brightly and hands him a cloak. As he receives questionable looks from his travelling companions, Cheshire just folds the cloak and stuffs it into his bag.

Cheshire: "Don't get the wrong idea. This will prove useful later... so buy some yourselves."

Cheshire continues walking with just that. It's hard to tell, but it really does seem like he's just acting tough. Whether that is true or not it seems to make the girl happy. She smiles expectantly at the rest of the group.

Little Girl: "Will you buy some of my wares?"

Ron thinks, He's the one who researched the expedition, might as well follow his lead. He gives the girl the same amount of lien that Cheshire gave and picks a reddish cloak. "Thank you for your product Little Miss." he says with a quick smile. He then quickly goes to catch up to Cheshire.

Well I've always wanted a cape and it looks like this will as close as I'll ever get. Aeden hands the girl a little extra lien and takes a cloak. "Thank you, young miss I put in a little extra go buy some candy." Aeden gives the small child a warm smile and pets her head before he walks back toward Cheshire and Ron.

"You've done nothing wrong thus far, Cheshire," Tsuteto responded to his comment. "He's only but begun in knowing what leadership is truly."

With the heat of the day beating down on them all, some might find it odd for Tsuteto to still have his coat on. The heat didn't bother him that much, when it really came down to it. With silver hair glinting rays from the sun, he paid no mind to the ensuing silence that came with traveling in such a group. That was soon broken by a question.

"Will you buy some wares?" came a little girl's voice, breaking him from his thoughts. Seeing he approach them so carelessly, he could only but give a small smile. Kneeling down after the three had purchased theirs, he gave her some lien, and took one. "Of a fine quality miss," he complimented as he looked at it. Standing with a smile still, he then followed the rest.

Walter sheathed his guns once the fighting was over. One of them was injured. And what they experienced was nowhere near the real thing. Without a doubt, Walter could see most of them dying along this adventure. But he would not be one of them. He had to live in order to decide for himself the most important question to his very existence. They then ventured off to the town.....

"Will you buy some of my wares?"

Walter didn't really want to. Looking at the group, he put on a smile on his face. He paid for the cloak, and draped it over his shoulder.

The merchant girl long passed, the group can finally see Alibaba town just ahead. The sun has begun to set and everyone is a little tired from the endless walking. Suddenly, Cheshire takes out the raggedy cloak that he bought from the girl earlier and puts it, letting it drape over his body, the flap tightly closed.

"You all bought one right?" he turned slightly to the group and asked. "This will be a good time to put them on."

He continued walking, letting those who decided to buy a cloak to quickly wrap it around themselves the same way he did. Cheshire continued talking as the group approached Alibaba.

"Welcome to the town of Alibaba," Cheshire said, "the town of forty families of thieves. The merchants here in Alibaba are famed to have collections of items and good from all over the world. Problem is, those items were not bought through traditional means. It may seem to be a small merchant town but it may as well be considered the thieves capital of Vale."

Cheshire pulls his cloak tighter around himself.

"These may not look that fashionable but at least it hides what we're really wearing. As far as anyone else knows, we're a bunch of raggedy travelers who aren't even worth stealing from. The cloaks will also make it harder for pickpockets to get you. Keep you weapons hidden so that you can keep any muggers off guard."

The group stops when there leader stops walking. The group has entered the square of Alibaba. Looking around you realize how much of a maze the small town was. Everywhere you see twists and turns, alleys, and passages. You even see some people jumping from rooftop to rooftop casually. It is near impossible to distinguish faces among the many wandering people on the streets.

"This place is beyond shady and you probably can't even trust a local old lady, but this place is also a prime source for info. Our next destination is relatively close by, so the local info would be useful as well. But if we really want information, we'll need to talk to a thief. Many of the thieves here decided to try playing tomb raider and entered Solomon's castle in expectation of obtaining one of his legendary treasures. Now, we'll try to gather information independently. Split up into groups of your choosing if you wish. If you find anything, call the others with your scroll."

With that, Cheshire wanders off and seems to have disappeared into nowhere, leaving the group alone in the square with their objective.
