The Grimm Skull XIV tournament [Closed]

"Sorry to disappoint, sweetie." Argent said, launching a flurry of punches at his guard before dropping low to sweep his legs under the faunus and knock him down once more. "I'm no glass cannon."

Jacob leaped over the sweep and threw a harsh hammer blow towards the top or Argent's head.

As his kick collides with thin air, Argent uses its momentum to roll sideways, Jacob's blow only hitting his lock of hair and nothing more. Standing up as he turned around, he yelled at his opponent as he threw a punch at his shoulder blade. True, that probably wasn't a good idea to warn him but Argent was enjoying himself. Something that prolonged the fight made it better. "Over here, buddy!"

Jacob deflected the attack with a forearm, before twisting his arm sharply, sliding his arm along Argent's on the inside of his guard, his elbow aimed at the side of the man's neck.

A hit like that would have hurt. Seriously. Argent wasn't too used to fighting someone on equal skill as him. He usually fought either someone much stronger than him or just someone stupidly thinking he could make some quick Lien in a bar brawl. Using his left arm, he swats the elbow to the side, his right arm going across his chest to push it to the side as his left arm swung down and around the send the back of his fist across Jacob's cheek.

Jacob took the hit, clenching his jaw. The hit wasn't hard, but he hoped the next one would be. He thrust his battle hardened skull forwards, attempted to strike Argent with a harsh headbutt.

Argent grins widely. Headbutts were his favorite thing to counter. Stopping in his position, crouching ever so slightly with his arms just off his sides, he activates his semblance. Once more, his shield goes up and his body goes still. In silence, he watches Jacob's forehead approach. That's gonna hurt.

With dizzying force Jacob's head struck the shield. He staggered backwards a few steps, shaking his head to try and keep his double vision at bay
"Ow" he snarled, regaining his balance. His bar had gone down just that little bit further on the screen above. Argent was still slightly ahead of him. He held his arms akimbo and smirked "you gonna throw a real punch or just keep blocking?"

As Jacob spoke, Argent slowly began to regain his movement, able to move perfectly well as his opponent finished his question. "I dunno about you." He said, running up and bringing his foot towards Jacob's side in a horizontal arc, "but I've been doing my fair share."

Jacob caught the foot
"Not sure I'd agree" he smirked, lashing out with a strong punch, aimed at the side of Argent's knee.

Argent doesn't struggle as he is caught in a foot hold. Catching the punch, he manages to dissipate most of the force though the back of his hands still strike his knee, Wincing slightly, he takes Jacob's arm and twists his entire body so that Argent had his back to his opponent, his arm held at Argent's side. Bringing it over his shoulder, he pulls to flip Jacob over him.

Jacob rolled over his foes back and landed on his feet, using his momentum to add force to a kick. With a snarl he attempted to boot Argent in the stomach.

Argent's hands move to block the kick, getting there a second too late as his fingers brush Jacob's foot but only just. The kick collides with his stomach, Argent grunting as he gets the wind knocked out of him, bending forwards slightly. Grimacing, he loops one arm under Jacob's leg and brings an elbow and a knee, aimed at his face and stomach respectively.

Jacob took the hit to his stomach, tensing slightly on impact, but managed to avoid the blow aimed at his head. He took a few steps backwards and lifted his arms in preparation to block.
"Not bad" he grunted. He raised an eyebrow "for a southerner."

"Wow. Judging a book by the cover, aren't we?" Argent asked, mockingly as he ran forward. Jumping as he drew close, Argent sends a straight kick towards Jacob, his foot speeding to strike him in the crevice between his arms, hoping to split the bock down the middle and strike him right in the sternum. "Peek-a-boo!"

Jacob grabbed the inbound foot and twisted it sharply to the right, pivoting on his own foot and trying for a roundhouse with his right foot, pivoting 270 degrees, heel whipping towards Argent's head.

Argent grimaces as Jacob grabs his foot, yanking on it to try and get it free. Spotting the incoming attack though, he raises his hands and catches it. Palms stinging from the force of the blow, he brings his hands down and throws his foot towards the hard ground before he yanks and pushes with his leg, trying to kick his opponent off balance.

Jacob just about managed to maintain his balance moving into a crouched stance, prepped for a lung should his opponent try to take another swing at him.

Yanking back, Argent wrestled his foot free from Jacob's grasp as he hops back a few steps. Arms raised defensively, he notes that his opponent is ready, coiled like a spring and prepared to counter attack at any moments notice. Think I won't notice that? The brawler thought, simply waiting Jacob out, ready to strike if he saw his defense falter for even a second.

Slowly, Jacob circled his prey. The timer was slowly ticking down. He didn't have long left to make his move. He needed something brutal, punishing and fast.

Aaaaaaaand now I'm bored. Argent thought as he turned in place to keep his front towards Jacob, watching his every move. Waiting 'til he was in the middle of a step, foot still raised, Argent dashes forwards and slides, his leg splayed to the side to sweep his opponent off his foot.

Jacob jumped over Argent's foot 'Gotcha' he knit his fingers and brought down his fists in a harsh hammerblow.

Aaaand there's the hammer. Argent thought as he looked over his shoulder. Lifting the leg that he swept under Jacob, he lets the blow collide with it, wincing at the pain on his thigh. Shifting a bit, he folds his leg to grab hold of Jacob's wrists with the back of his knee, reaching over to hold him by the ankle. "Tiiiiiiiimber!" He yelled as he pulled his leg, and subsequently Jacob's arms, forwards, pulling his legs up and over to try and flip him as Argent fell on his back, giving his opponent a very strange suplex.

Jacob hit the ground hard, his right shoulder twisting at an awkward angle. Grunting in pain he forced himself onto his hands and knees in time to hear the bell ring.
"Ladies and Gentleman, WE HAVE A WINNER!" Jacob punched the mat and barked, as if cursing. He reluctantly offered Jacob a hand
"Congratulations, the best man won" he muttered, trying to sound gracious.

Argent grins widely at the announcement, walking over to Jacob, he takes his hand and pulls him up to his feet and shakes it generously. "Good fight." Argent said, flashing him a toothy grin. "Damn sure'll be sore when I hit the hay tonight." He added, rotating his arm a bit to stretch it out. "C'mon, that was a good round. My turn to give you one. Beer's on me."

"Sure, could use a drink after that" Jacob tilted his head to one side, causing it to crack sharply. The announcer entered the ring and ushered the two out.
"ALRIGHT, ARE YOU READY FOR YOUR NEXT FIGHT?" he asked. The crowd roared "I'll take that as a yes" he smirked.

"This next young man has watched as relatives to him took this very tournament in the past! A native to Vale who makes his money from the pain of crooks in bounty hunting. But that isn't what puts the most fear in his opponents! It's the family that raised him! Here is..Spencer~~ROUUUuuge!!!"
Spencer walks out to much cheering for his name and one person cussing under his breath upon recognizing the bounty hunter and hurrying from his seat to get out of the area. Spencer grins his trademark grin as he steps out and extends his arms up with his strut. As he comes out, he removes his family's jacket designated for huntsmen as he only brought it out to give the crowd the authentic show.
