The Grimm Skull XIV tournament [Closed]

Vale was abuzz with excitement, the streets were packed, huge crowds roamed the streets in order to gather around one of the large television screens posted around the city. The focus was on the huge arena that had recently been constructed just beyond city limits. It stood over ten stories high and loomed overhead like some cast iron Colosseum, a gigantic inflatable Grimm head, resembling an Ursa leered down at the crowds below from the edge of the open roof.

Within the stands sat the people lucky enough to get tickets before the inevitable sellout. They were almost glued to their plastic seats in the anticipation of what was about to unfold, waving foam fingers and light up Beowulf heads in the air as they waited for the first match. The Grimm Skull tournament. In centre stage sat the battleground a rounded boxing ring, surrounded by a thick mesh cage, the top was open and the only way in was through two doors, opposite each other. There was also a large platform positioned slightly to one side.

With slow deliberate steps, the announcer walked out into view of the crowd, bating in the rapturous applause
"Ladies and gentlemen" he called out, the microphone making his voice boom from every speaker and make the stands shake "welcome to the 14th annual Grimm Skull tournament! And what a show we have for you this year, four of Vales toughest combatants, ready to do battle for your entertainment" he paused for the crowd to cheer, they obliged. "Well without further ado, allow me to introduce our first competitors. Hailing from the frozen North, a veritable wolf man, sole heir to the Reaver clan. Ladies and Gentleman, JACOB REAVER!" one of the two doors in the Colosseum opened, a thin layer of white fog drifting out as if it were some ice sheet. Jacob emerged, his hands wrapped in tape and eyes fixed on the ring. Roars of excitement filled the air. The Nineteen year old Faunas stalked down the cordoned off pathway and entered the arena. He walked into the centre of the ring and threw his head back, unleashing a mighty howl. the crowd cheered. The announcer waited for them to settle down before continuing his introductions. "Our second competitor, you may know as the silver brawler, it's said he can stop a Beowulf with a single punch and stare down a rampaging Ursa. Ladies and Gentlemen ARGENT KEATON!"

Stepping onto the ring, Argent makes no fan fair, his face deadpan as he cracked his knuckles. His hands were wrapped similarly but oddly enough, so were his legs. From the middle of his foot to just below his knees were also wrapped with the white tape. One by one, he popped them methodically before turning his head to the side, neck cracking audibly. Finished, he finally looks up at his opponent, a confident smirk on his face.

The referee stepped between the two
"Ok, no hits below the belt, no biting, I'm looking at you Faunas" the ref pointed to Jacob. The wolf growled in response of such casual racism. The ref pulled up their padded hands "we want a good clean fight" he reiterated.
"Good luck" Jacob grunted, smirking.

As soon as the ref stepped back Argent simply said "May the best man win.", grinning wildly as he dropped down low, fingers arched on the floor as he put his weight on one foot, the other going to sweep Jacob's legs from right under him. "Timbeeeeeer~"

Jacob jumped over the sweep, before bringing down his fists in a ferocious hammer blow towards Argent's head.

Seeing the shadow come down, Argent rolls forwards, diving behind Jacob to avoid his attack. Rolling into a crouch, he studies Jacob for a few seconds before standing, smirk still plastered on his face. "So, how's this gonna play out?" He asked, his arms at his sides but rigid and coiled like springs. "Just whoever lands a hit first?"

Jacob turned, stony faced
"You could always surrender" he threw a harsh right hook.

"Not really in the mood for that." He joked, looking his opponent up and down for something he could use. If that does't work, I could just rush him. He thought. "Maybe if you took me out, dinner, a few drinks, maybe then I'd consider it. Right now, I've just met you and I'm not looking for a relationship."

"You talk too much" Jacob leaped forwards, aiming a sharp uppercut for his opponent's chin.

"Love you too." He mocked, rushing forwards as well but slightly to his right. Jacob's fist brushes the front of his left forearm, his hand sliding up Argent's arm as he parried it before he stopped, legs spread out and body down low as he aimed a cross under the faunus' arm, going straight for his armpit.

The hit made contact and Jacob grunted, it wasn't too hard a hit, but it caught him off guard a little. Jacob spun turning into a guarded position, hands balled into fists. Taking a deep breath, Jacob lunged forwards, throwing a harsh volley of brutal punches.

A second after his fist connects, Argent hops backwards, bringing up his forearms to block the punches, his knee going up as well to protect his torso. "Patience, young one." Argent mocked, his voice in an obviously fake sage's voice as he grinned wildly at his assailant. "Not think and blindly attack, lose this fight, you will."

"Give it a rest" Jacob brought his elbow down, hooking it behind Argent's guard and aiming for the top of his head.

Argent's eyes widen as he sees Jacob's elbow get past his guard. Quickly turning to face his opponent, he turns his chest towards the faunus, body bent in an odd position as he threw his foot backwards to catch himself. As soon as his foot hits the ground, he activates his semblance, Jacob's fist hitting an invisible brick wall just a few inches off of Argent's face, the boy as still as a statue.

Jacob chuckled and took a step back, lining up for a kick as soon as Argent's guard lowered.
"Where are your jibes now?" Jacob grunted, smirking. The collar around Jacob's neck was the same as Argent's, clamped on to restrict the power of their semblance, and ensure that the fight wouldn't go on for too long.

The silver brawler stays still for about two seconds before he moves again, blocking the kick and flipping his arm over the leg and twisting it, clutching it to his armpit so that his toes were pointed down and heel locked firmly under his arm. "Sorry." He apologized, his hold on the faunus close to the ankle to keep himself from striking distance as they had a little chat. "Was kinda busy keeping you from my face. If you like them so much though, you could just ask." With a practiced motion, Argent slides back and grabs Jacob's foot, right hand by his toes and left hand on his heel. Yanking sideways, he spins the leg, pushing to throw him off balance and into the spin as well.

Jacob hit the ground hard, rolling to help disperse the impact. His semblance had held out when he had struck Argent's shield, but the collar had left it slightly drained, meaning the second attack had hurt more than it would have done otherwise.
"I was enjoying the quiet" Jacob growled, taking a step back. On the screen above the readouts flashed, and Jacob's bar declined. He had to score a heavy hit, and he had to do it soon.

"Sorry to disappoint." Argent laughed, lunging at Jacob and rushing up to close the gap between them in a split second. Smirking at his opponent, Argent sends his left knee at his side, his right elbow flying towards the sides of Jacob's head. "But I like to whisper sweet nothings sometimes, too."

Jacob deflected the blow aimed towards his head with a sweep of his forearm, and lifted his own knee in an attempt to deflect the blow aimed at his side.
"Too slow" Jacob snickered.

As Argent's knee collides with Jacob, it bounces off the block and shoots backwards. As his leg extends behind him, Argent leans forward and sends a brutal straight right towards Jacob's left shoulder.

Jacob shrugged off the blow and lined up for a brisk uppercut.

Leaning forward as he was, Argent had little time to get out of the uppercut's way, Jacob's fist hitting him square in the jaw. Argent winces as he stumbles back a step but quickly catches himself, getting back into fighting position. "Anyone get the plate number on that truck?" He asked no one in particular, moving his jaw side to side to check if it were still in the right place. Satisfied, he waits for Jacob to get close.

Jacob looked disappointed
"Damn, I was hoping to break your jaw and get a little peace" Jacob lifted his arms into a defensive stance, keeping his distance. "You gonna keep waiting for me to go first or are you going to try and hit me back?"

"Sorry to disappoint, sweetie." Argent said, launching a flurry of punches at his guard before dropping low to sweep his legs under the faunus and knock him down once more. "I'm no glass cannon."

Jacob leaped over the sweep and threw a harsh hammer blow towards the top or Argent's head.
