Taming The Wolf [CLOSED]

Puniceus stared blankly at the door to the classroom, not knowing what to expect he took a deep sigh and pushed open the door. Looking around the classroom, Puniceus noticed not a whole lot of people had turned to look at him. With the general murmur of the class settling into his ears he swept his eyes over the class to try and find his teammates. No luck. Searching around for a spot, he noticed an empty seat next to one of the students. 'Hmm, blonde hair, blue eyes...I've gotta be able to get some conversation out of him.' He thought approaching the student. "Hey, my name is Puniceus. You can call me Puny if that's too hard to say."

Rushing through the halls with the subtlety of a rhinoceros, Scindo panicked. Thinking deep down that she was late to class, mostly due to her uncle's constant annoyance. 'You're laaate Princess. Better hurry. Oh also, you're not wearing your uniform.' Stopping for a bit, Scindo looked down and started panicking even more before shaking her head and continuing to hurry to class. 'There's no time for that! I'll take the bullet for now.' 'Wow, your surprisingly lax about this.' Deciding not to respond, Scindo saw the classroom door. Bursting into the classroom, she immediately flushed bright red, seeing class hadn't started yet. Scindo hurriedly rushed over and sat in the seat farthest in the back.

Kaiden had arrived at class early, not seeing much for socialising he left his dorm after getting a few confused glances by the other members of his team. All humans, he already despised this. However similar to before he kept himself quiet and concentrated on the class. Kaiden has purposely chosen a seat with no one around him, hoping he could find a way to avoid his team for just a little bit longer.

Alas someone took a seat next to him, but not a member of his team. It was a different person, human, not interested he already thought as he turned his head slightly away from the person.

"Hey, my name is Puniceus. You can call me Puny if that's too hard to say."

Silence. Kaiden didn’t mutter a word and luckily before the person could continue one of his team member burst in. Not in uniform for some reason, but Kaiden would take any distraction to stop any further conversations.

Hakui woke up to see that one of his teammates had already left the dorm room 'I'm bored, I guess I may as well just go to class'. When Hakui got out of the bathroom from changing into his school uniform plus lab coat he saw Scindo still asleep in her bed and thought if he should wake her up to go to class, but he decided to let her sleep because she looked cute asleep.

Hakui opened the door to his class and noticed that he knew no one there except for his teammate Kaiden and thought about siting with him, but then noticed someone talking to him and thought he shouldn't interrupt, so Hakui went and took a seat up at the back of the classroom. Hakui started getting quite bored at the back of the room surrounded by strangers and started regretting his decision to go to class early. Bored, Hakui pulled out his scalpels from inside his lab coat and started stacking them on his desk like a deck of cards while waiting for class to start.

Megan went out of her way to try and be the last one into class. Either that is she just was to lazy to come on time. Opening up the doorway she quickly found herself a good little seat in the back of the classroom. "Finally a good chance to be alone..." She said getting a serene kind of smile on her face. Looking around Megan found that the class at least wasn't to noisy. Which meant that she could probably take a nap and nobody would be any the wiser...

Leaning her chair back a bit she closed her eyes and began to softly go to sleep.

Getting no reaction from Kaiden was really upsetting Puniceus, mainly because he wanted to both A make a new friend and B get to annoy the living hell out of some-one. The way he was acting thus far, it didn't seem like continuing to annoy him would be in Puny's best interests. Oh well. Puniceus started poking Kaiden continuously while saying "Hey" and "Listen" every time.

Scindo looked around nervously to see if any-one was still staring at her for her dazzling entrance to the classroom, to her surprise however, no-one was. Letting out a deep sigh she started looking around for any-one she knew. A few chairs to her side she saw Megan, So Scindo picked up her stuff and shuffled over to plonk down beside Megan. She was just about to start talking when she noticed Megan was about to go to, or already asleep. Scindo just sat there fiddling with her pens until the door opened a final time.

The teacher walked in, the few books he was holding he put down on the desk. He had a very sloppy and lazy appearance about him, with very unkempt light brown hair. He slumped down in his chair before turning and writing his name on the board. Prof. Desidia. A very fitting name to say the least. After clearing his throat to gain the attention of the few students that hadn't shut up, including Puniceus, he started speaking. "Hello students, you can call me Professor Desidia. I hate to waste time, so let's get on with it. During your time hear at Beacon, you will learn how to fight the Creatures Of Grimm. That's what I would say if that statement were true. You see, when and if you graduate from this academy you will, depending on the situations and circumstances, be required to fight other things as well. These things include human's. That's what my class is about, I'm going to teach you how you deal with another human who may not like you, for lack of a better way to put it. Please remember that while I don't personally condone human on human violence, it is my job to teach you how to fight, should the time ever come."

"To begin this lesson, I would like to take two of you, you two will battle it out right here, in front of he class." The teacher finished, lazily sweeping his eyes over the class, trying to find two suitable students. "You in the purple and the guy in blue next to hi, you're up." He exclaimed, pointing to Puniceus and Kaiden. "Now, I assume you are both familiar with the terms 'semblance' and 'aura'?" He asked, not giving them any time to respond, he shoved them both out of the classroom saying "You have ten minutes to go get your weapon and battle gear from your dorms, if you don't already have them on you." Turning back to the class, he finished "So then, any questions?"

Kaiden let out a small grunt as he was shoved out of the classroom; he strode down the corridor and got to his weapon locker within a few minutes he pulled out his retracted weapons and magnetized them to his sides. He looked at his locker trying to decide what arrows to use, he tapped his finger over each of them before choosing 4 to use “Lightning (Yellow), Water (Blue), Ice (Cyan) and Kinetic (White)” He selected and then configured his quiver to be able to change between each.

He then went to the dorms, got changed and headed back to the class room. The entire time he still hadn’t muttered a word in anyone else’s presence. He entered back into the classroom silently ready for the battle.

(Just a note white kinetic dust battle wise just moves faster and has more punch in them)

'oh we also have to fight humans I see, I wonder who will win this fight, it should be interesting, at least I get to see the style of fighting my teammate uses so I can be better support on the battle field'. Hakui said as he carefully placed another scalpel down, his attention wasn't really on the fight because it got kinda boring and he lost interest, but he was hoping that his teammate won. Hakui was to focused on his scalpel tower as he almost finished and only had four more to go.

Megan awoken by the commotion rubbed her eyes and looked around hoping that nobody saw her. Catching a little bit of what the teacher had said Megan turned to Scindo. "Man a battle on the first day here? This is gonna be one heck of a class." She commented dryly and leaned back in her chair her eyes open this time. Although she didn't particularly care for the fight she did want to see what kind of battle this was. It might be intresting...might be. Her hand massaged her bandaged up arm and she took a little breath.

Every-one now in class, the halls were barren, giving Puny the perfect opportunity to bolt to his dorm, grabbing his weapon and clothes from on his bed he chucked them on before quickly pacing back down the halls to get to his class. Puniceus entered the classroom, seeing Kaiden already there, he headed to the opposite side of the room. "Alright, you two ready?" The teacher said, slumping back down in his chair. Puniceus gave a quick nod to the professor before pulling Indigo Torrent off his back. half tempted to use his wires to show off, he decided against it to save his aura for the fight. "Okay, then students, fight." The professor said, kicking his feet up on the desk. Soon as the fight started, Puniceus switched Indigo Torrent into it's assault rifle form and opened fire, dashing to the right.

Kaiden like Puniceus pulled his weapons from his side, clipping them together to form his bow before they even finished folding out correctly. As it made its last correction He pulled his arm back over his head and clutched a arrow, the quiver picking up on his finger contact positions and determining the arrow type he wanted from that.

When the battle started he twisted his foot launching of sideways left as he fired an ice arrow to the right of him. The arrows made contact with the ground developing an ice structure of large crystal from it, upwards to about a metre. He did so a second and third time aiming further to the right and then to the left with the ice arrows. He landed on the ground pushing off forward as his arrow type shifted to water. He set off another two arrows as he twisted 180 degrees, causing water to splash onto the ground within their fighting space.

Hoping he caught on to what Kaiden was doing, Puniceus jumped in the air and used two wires, coming out of his back, to attach himself to the roof. Puny threw Indigo at Kaiden, using two wires coming from his fingers to control it. Indigo Torrent was in hot pursuit of Kaiden, Puniceus kept using an 8 patterns to slash at Kaiden. 'Trying to freeze the floor, eh? At least that's what I hope he's doing. I guess he didn't account for the fact that I didn't have to touch the ground to fight.' He thought, swing his way around the room, using Kaiden's ice spikes to give him a bit of speed, sling-shotting between two of the every now and then.

“You seemed to be under the impression that you’re the only one who is not grounded” Kaiden said, speaking to his opponent for the first time. He flicked his hand behind him as a high gravity downwards glyph appeared on the floor underneath Indigo; the amplified gravity would force it to the ground.

He also placed a glyph below himself, launching him up onto the roof, when he made contact he placed on of the roof he was standing on, keeping him in place as he ran forwards, new glyph appearing with every step he took, the old one fading instantly. He pulled out a white arrow and fired it at one of the ice structures on the ground, causing it to shatter into fragments, a glyph appearing underneath it launching them upwards at Puniceus. His own weapons changing into the wave swords as he twisted his foot and launched forwards, his blades pointing forwards ready for a slash attack, like too massive pincers clamping down on his prey.

Puniceus fell down to grab Indigo, feeling the gravity instantly he used his two wires to pull him out instantly, he magnetized it to his back, then protracted wires out of his feet and attached them to the roof. Constantly detaching and reattaching his wires to the roof as his feet made contact, giving the illusion that he was waling on the roof. He charged towards Kaiden, dodging ice spikes left and right, throwing his shuriken at him, arcing it to the right while attempting to kick Kaiden in the ribs.

Megan whistled a bit at the display of ability in the two. "Dang..." She muttered looking down a bit. She wasn't the fastest member of her team that was for sure...she would have to work on her reflexes if she was to keep up with these guys.

'oh my god!' Hakui was amazed with the sheer speed of the fight alone, not to mention the accuracy of each move and with so much planning and thought put into each move. Hakui was definitely out classed by his teammate in close quarters combat. 'these guys are animals' it only takes each of them not even a hand full of seconds to asses the others move then to quickly think of a counter attack'. These two are definitely on the same skill level. Hakui was too focused on the fight and forgot about his scalpel tower, that was until he accidentally knocked it over and one of them stabbed into his left foot.

As the shuriken headed towards him Kaiden lightened his gravity slightly as he leaped over it, twisting his body and using the spiral momentum to try and deliver a powerful kick to his opponent. He could fell his aura draining from the constant glyphs, he needed to get the battle on the ground soon. Whether or not his kicked landed didn’t matter, he flipped backwards and created a high gravity glyph downwards under Puniceus to force him onto the ground, and at the same time his weapons converted and he aimed two successive shots of ice arrows at his opponents feet trying to shatter the strings or freeze his rivals entire feet.

His hand twitched as the quiver shifted arrows yet again, in the split second Kaiden would determine his next move.

When Kaiden used his gravity to pull Indigo to the floor again Puniceus would of sighed, if he weren't knee deep in a fight. 'Does this guy have any other strategies?' He thought, using wires to pull Indigo out of the glyph and onto his back. As Kaiden attempted to kick Puny, Puny tried to up and punch him in the face. Regardless of whether or not he hit, Kaiden fell to the ground, making a glyph underneath (or on top of, because he's upside down) Puny's feet. Puny felt the immense force dragging towards the ground, off the roof, but he didn't budge. His wires were still securing him to the ground and Kaiden couldn't do much about that, that is, until he shot the ice arrows. The arrows hit Puny's feet, causing the wires to freee and shatter, the glyph sending him hurtling towards the ground. Puny threw Indigo at the nearest wall, his wires still attached from before, Indigo hit the wall and got stuck in, Puny wasn't far behind. Using his wires to pull him out of the range of the glyph, puny detached the wires from the shuriken and reattached them to the wall next to it. His back now literally against the wall, Puny grabbed Indigo, turned it into it's assault rifle form and opened fire.

The shots glanced of Kaiden knocking him from his Glyph and sending him into freefall. However his opponent had moved to his predicted place. He twisted his body and released the string.

“Perfect” Kaiden said quietly, the water arrows launched out in an instant not actually aiming for his opponent but more coating the wall in water near him granted the splash would most likely get him. His arrow changed as his plan came into fruition. The lightning arrow arced across the room implanting itself in the wall. The volts of electricity surged up the wall and bolted down to the floor. Anyone touching the electricity would have a temporary paralysis effect. And since both the wall and floor were covered Puniceus had really nowhere to go, even if he moved the current would travel up his wires and shock him anyway.

With a large slash of one hand and a twist of the other three glyphs appeared on the wall behind Kaiden aligning themselves together . His weapons fell to the floor as he was launched of, traversing the room so quickly it couldn’t even be seen as anything more than a blur. A single high power punch aimed for the chest of Puniceous to try and finish the battle.

The water splashing all around him, Puny knew he had to act quick. Instantly he detached all wires from the wall and reattached them to the roof, leaving him hanging there, a few centimeters from the wall, he noticed the Lightning arrow darting straight past him. Looking back at it, he saw the wall turn from water-coated to electricity-coated. Turning to face his opponent, Puny saw him dashing straight towards him at an indescribable speed. "Ah Shi-!" He shouted, clicking the button to turn Indigo into it's shield form he could only hope the transformation was quick enough. It was, just. Kaiden's fist slammed bone-shatteringly hard against Indigo Torrent, most likely shattering Kaiden's hand completely, if not breaking his hand a little. This blow promptly sent Puny reeling back, slamming into the electric wall behind him. Using his aura to protect him, Puny fell to the ground afterwards, while he wasn't hurt physically the shock had left him completely drained, his vision blurred and knee's weak, he took a few steps forward before collapsing. Laying face-down on the floor, he started laughing softly, flipping himself over to lie on his back he stared up at the ceiling. "Did I win?" He muttered under his breath.

With that the last of Kaiden's aura was used up, he felt light headed as he hit into the ground. His fist stinging but relatively unharmed due to his now exhausted aura. A large gash appeared on his left shoulder, where he clothes had been torn by the shots fired by Puniceous. Now that his aura was gone these wounds returned, along with the large gash he also got a small cut across his cheek and his hands were riddled with bruises. He managed to stand up just and began walking over towards Puniceous.

“Enough” Said Professor Desidia flatly as he pulled out the scroll from under his desk and opened it up “The battle is concluded, it’s a draw” He elaborated before flicking his scroll around to show both of them “Now, Puniceous” He glanced over to check he got the name right “Your aura is in the red zone, you are no longer fit to fight” He explained looking over at the student “But that’s rather obvious. However I would like the class to look at Kaiddens,” He said mispronouncing Kaiden’s name as he brought it up on the board with a projector. Sure enough beside the picture of Kaiden had his aura bar, however it was blacked out, there was no red, or any colour for that matter in it and small warnings flickered up on it aswell “Now anyone care to tell me what this means?” He said gesturing to the black bar.

Hakui sat there with his chin dangling all the way to the floor, just starring in aw. "That.. fight.. was amazing, such speed, such precision with each movement. simply stunning" of course Hakui was amazed as he himself is a pretty bad fighter. "My teammate is SO strong" 'I think i better go over and check on him his wounds look quite bad, so does Puni's, I better just take a look".

Hakui walks over to check on his teammate first "hmm your hand is pretty banged up but I don't think is broken at all which is extremely lucky, now lets have a look at your shoulder, woah that's quite deep.. hold on stand still" Hakui takes the dust out from his lab coat pocket and starts drawing his symbol on the ground, then continues to use his semblance to fix his teammates shoulder. "All there that's better, hold on one second almost done" Hakui then proceeds to put a band-aid on Kaiden's cheek.

Megan raised her hand and pointed to the black bar. "Does it mean we get to leave class early and head to bed?" She tried to joke and looked around. No laughs. Coughing she re-pointed to the bar and clearly stated. "Well...since the red bar means that the combatant is close to death, does that mean when it gets to that black part the guy is actually dead or knocked out?" Megan tried looking around once more to see if she was at the very least somewhat correct.

Afraid she would look like a show-off for saying the answer when no-one else seems to know it, Scindo stayed quiet. Still contemplating the fight that had just happened right in front of her eyes. 'I didn't even think it was possible for people to move that fast.' She thought, of course with this, Fides witty remark wasn't far behind. 'Oh? I used to fight like that, you know princess?''Well, I never saw you fight like that.''You never saw me fight, period.' Quietly admitting defeat, Scindo started sulking.

Coughing a bit before sitting up, Puniceus glanced around the room, dazed. His legs shaking as he tried to get up, he desperately stumbled over to Kaiden. 'I can't let such a valuable asset go to waste.' he thought, almost tripping over he was now on his hands and knee's. A trickle of blood seeped out of the corner of his mouth, running down his chin. Glancing up at Kaiden he sputtered "H-hey...you as...s banged up...as me?" Finally mustering up the strength to stand he staggered over to Kaiden, holding out a hand to help him up.

Staring down at his scroll Prof. Desidia saw Puny's aura drop a little more. "Hey kid, keep going like that and you're not going to have two legs to stand on." Puny turned his head to look at the professor. "W-what?" Heaving a deep sigh he plonked back down on his chair. "You seriously don't realize it? geez, kid. You're unconciously using your aura to protect yourself from the remaining electricity still flowing through your body. Oh and also, that answer was wrong." He said, pointing at Megan. "Any-one know the right answer?"

“I don’t need to be babied” Kaiden said grumpily, “I’ve had way worse than this” He subtly gestured to his chest not sure whether to tell them at all what he meant. He half tried to swipe Hakui’s hand away but was paying more attention to the teacher to actually stop it completely.  

"Well...since the red bar means that the combatant is close to death, does that mean when it gets to that black part the guy is actually dead or knocked out?"

Kaiden shot a look at the person who answered “Do I look dead to you?” He asked sarcastically as Puniceus tried to walk over. Kaiden took a uninterested glance at him

"H-hey...you as...s banged up...as me?"

“Hardly, I wasn’t shot by electricity” He replied with a hint of light heartedness to it “You do realise that for the sake of both our ego we can’t leave it as a draw right?,”
Kaiden was still sceptical about humans and wouldn’t forget what he had endured but, maybe it would not be so unbearable from a tactical stand point of course, to at least vaguly affiliate with humans. It certainly would look less suspicious consider he didn’t want the general population to know his species; he didn’t want that kind of taunting ever again. His brow furrowed slightly as he remembered everything in his old school. Yeah this would only be a practical alliance nothing more.  

"Any-one know the right answer?"

Kaiden groaned slightly as the class remained silent “Red is when your aura is low, black is when its gone, why do people think my wounds opened up again” He explained as if the entire thing was obvious even to the most stupid person. In truth these people were in beacon so not knowing this information may be classified as stupid.

'This Puniceus guy is really tough even though his aura is protecting him from feeling the electricity in his body he is still putting up with his lack of aura better than quite a few people I have met before, he's pretty strong, I would hate to be on his wrong side, i'd be dead'. Hakui reassured himself after feeling stupid for not answering the teachers question 'i'm a medic of course I know that answer, I hope others can figure that out so I don't look like an idiot' but he was too focused on his teammate. “Red is when your aura is low, black is when its gone, why do people think my wounds opened up again” "yeah why do people question my medical ability, of course they haven't opened up, they don't exist anymore I re-materialized human tissue".

Hakui started feeling really bad because there was nothing he could do about Puniceus as he can heal people but he can't give them aura, he has been trying to find a dust formula for that for about one a half years but hasn't had any luck yet.

'after using the dust in my pocket I only have a medium sized jar of each dust left, i'll probably have to go get some more later' Hakui starts writing on a sticky note and accidentally reads it aloud "note to self get more dust".
