The First Initiation

Professor Ozpin picked up the microphone and turned the power on. “Good Morning students, today is the day you have been waiting for. The initiation into Beacon. Now I’m sure many of you have heard about the teams. These have been decided for you.” He paused letting the students soak in the information.

“For this test you will be fighting in a double elimination tournament in the Emerald Forest. Once you have been hit six times you are out of the match. The last team standing in a match wins, and try not to kill each other.”

“You are to gather at the Cliffs where you will be paired with your teammate and given a device that will direct you to your next opponent before being launched into the forest. Best of luck, and may the best team win.” Oz pin put down the microphone and took a sip of coffee.

Alright so you heard it from Ozpin, the initiation is a double elimination tournament. However to save a slight amount of time you will be starting in the forest with your partner already. If you want to add your landing strategy in there go for it, but the rest of that is not part of this.
If you want to do a cliff thread feel free, but start it AFTER you're got the other thread started.

Each thread will contain 2 teams of 2 (4 people). The higher team on the bracket of the match will make the thread. They should be titled as such: “Match (match letter): team 1 first names/nick names vs. team 2 first names/nick names”

You will duke it out and after you take 6 hits you’re out of the match.

I'm sorry for those who have to wait till the second round for a match. You can observe first round matches in canon if you would like though.

notes: If your teammate does not show up within 2 days we will find you a new one.
If the other team does not show up for 2 days you get a bye.

edit: The bracket has slightly changed from this morning due to a late entry.
