Dark Skys [Closed]

Mihail leaned up to the cold stone wall while he looked out at the night sky. For the last couple of nights, Mihail hadn't been able to sleep, which was odd for someone like him. Worse yet was how every dream that kept him up was about his family. Nearly two years now, and they just started out of nowhere. Instead of taking it out on his team with him just fidgeting around all night, he'd pick up his rifle and snuck out on the roof until he felt like he was on the verge of passing out. All he would do for hours on end is just sitting there, polishing and maintaining his gun.

Following with his retinue, he sat down on the ground with his back against the wall and took out a few tools that he planed to use. He dissembled minotaur slowly, making sure to not lose track of any pieces. He then picked up his cleaning rag and began to carefully clean up each part of Minotaur. Every time he got around to his part, he started to think about everything that had happened involving his family. "There has to be something I'm missing..." He played that day over in his head several times before realizing he had finished cleaning up the bits and pieces of his gun.

Drawing his attention back to his weapon, he brought each part together, just like his father had shown him years before. Before long, Minotaur was all in once piece again. Mihail couldn't help but sigh as he finished. He still didn't feel remotely tired, and normally he could feel a bit of sleepiness at this point. "Maybe I'm just getting better at putting it back to together..." Realizing he was talking to himself, he banged his head against the wall lightly.

"Guess I might as well clean you up some more." With that, he pulled out a polishing cloth and began to rub it up against the barrel of the gun. Without even thinking, he spoke aloud again. "Maybe she's still out there....

Yvonne was perched on the roof of Beacon, staring up at the moon as she sighed in disappointment. She had spent the past few days hunting for one of the students in attendance, Mihail, who just happened to be the brother of the girl she had been shacked up with for the past few weeks. Of course, in these few days she hadn't even been able to find him among the crowds of other students while trying to avoid any suspicious looks or pointed questions.

She still remembered the file that she had left in the locked safe located in her room, having memorized the basic details as well as the picture that her source had provided her with. It was all she needed to track him down, but she still wasn't even sure WHY she was trying to find him.

The wolf knew she needed answers about Emilia, but what was she supposed to say to this guy who hasn't seen his sister in god only knows how long? "Yeah... I rescued your adopted sister from her life as a lab experiment, and we haven't stopped going at it for weeks now." She muttered out loud as she stared up at the moon. "Yeah, that'd go over really well."

She nearly panicked when she heard the door to the balcony of the roof open, but realized that there was no way she would be seen on the slant of the roof where she was. Her black leggings, black boots, and black hooded sweatshirt ensured that she was practically a shadow against the dark shingles. The only telltale sign she was even there would be her frosty white hair and ears, as well as her tail that swayed back and forth in impatience.

Yvonne observed the person who had came out onto the roof as he sat down and started to clean his rifle. She could tell just from his scent that he was human, but he hadn't been able to get a good look at his face given the lack of light and the fact that he was turned away from her.

She crawled across the slant of the roof carefully, taking each step slowly and carefully so she wouldn't be heard and so she wouldn't lose her footing. She needed a better angle on this person, especially considering that weapon matched the description that had been in Mihail's profile. And as soon as she heard his final statement, that was when she got a good look at his face and everything clicked into place. She had finally found her target, and now this day was starting to look up for her.

Yvonne flipped the hood of her sweatshirt down so her ears were exposed and almost immediately they twitched in the cold night air. "So... You're Mihail, huh?" She finally called out rhetorically, making her presence known from where she sat against the side of the roof. The wolf chuckled in a rather cold manner, trying to size him up from where he sat cleaning his rifle.

Her own weapon was broken down to what seemed like only two small metal poles strapped to her thighs, something seemingly harmless and perhaps even unnoticeable. The wolf never left home without her weapon, and especially not when she was doing something as stupid as infiltrating a school full of Hunters and Huntresses in training.

"Emilia says hi." She said with a wicked grin, watching for any sort of reaction that statement might bring about from the student. "Or at least, she probably would, if she knew I was coming to find you."

The girl was absolutely relaxed, she had found the target she had been hunting for for days and now things would start to fall into place. She was a bit happy this was finally over with, it was getting hard to play off her sudden disappearances later in the day to Emilia. Yvonne had gotten away with saying she had to meet with the White Fang, but she had a feeling that excuse was starting to wear out and she was going to end up having to think of something else.

The sudden voice made Mihail shoot up and off the wall, both hands ready on his rifle. It was hard to see the source of the voice, but the white ears and the occasional glimpse of a swaying tail seemed to lower his guard. 'Must be another student.' It was the only logical explanation in his mind. He didn't think an outsider to the school would be able to get this far onto school grounds. However, the fact it seemed like she, judging by the voice, was looking for him made him a little suspicious.

"Depends, who's asking? You know, you shouldn't sneak up on people like that, I almost opened-" Mihail trailed off as he was interrupted by the mysterious figure. He froze in his tracks at her response. "Wh-What?!" Mihail was completely flabbergasted. His sister was still alive. He had to see her, but at the same time, he was cautious. Her new comments made it seem like he was wrong about her being a student. For all he knew, this new comer had been the one that had been the cause of his sorrow.

"Where is she, and what have you done to her..." His grip tightened on Minotaur. "If you've done anything to hurt her..." He activated his weapon and changed it into its axe and shield form.

The sudden shift of Mihail's attitude only caused Yvonne's grin to widen slightly. The shocked look on his face had almost been cliche, and the way he jumped to conclusions about her being the one to blame for whatever had happened to Emilia had been rather predictable.

She sighed and stood up from her perch, reaching down to her thighs and removing the two parts of her weapon, connecting and locking them together to create the solid Bo Staff. She twirled it around her body experimentally, making sure none of her muscles were too tense to fight or anything like that. The wolf wanted a challenge, and this human was almost too willing to present himself as one to her.

"I've done quite a few things to her actually." She teased, clearly enjoying herself in this situation. Truth be told, she hadn't had this much fun in a while. It was just a shame all this fun had to be wasted on a human rather than someone else actually worthy of her time. "Starting, of course, with saving her life."

Unfortunately, Mihail wasn't the only one with questions. Yvonne had come here to find out more about the girl she had saved, but it was clear that wasn't going to happen right away.

She leaped down from the shingles of the roof to land on the balcony, now face to face with the rather jumpy student. "But that's all you're going to get out of me for free." She stated. Her weapon still wove a pattern around her body as she watched her opponent carefully. She could tell just from the look in his eyes that he was just a student, he wasn't used to fighting and killing to survive as she was.

Mihail's teeth grit down harder as a snarl crept across his face. "Then where is she..." For Mihail, he wasn't asking. He was demanding to know where his sister was being kept. As she jumped down, he teased up, tightening his grip on Minotaur. As she gave her retort, he grew even more pissed off.

Luckily for Mihail, his father's words of advice came through. 'Just calm down.... Keep your cool....' Seeing her play with her own weapon kept him on edge. He wasn't one for beating up on women, but for his sister he'd have to.

Lifting his shield up just below his face, Mihail charged forward.

Yvonne's eyes lit up as Mihail appeared to grow more and more agitated. 'Good, now things can get interesting.' She thought, the cheeky grin never leaving her face. If he was this easy to rile up, this would prove to be an easy fight. Still, she didn't want to take the fight too seriously. After all, she wanted him intact and able to speak when all was said and done. There were questions that needed to be answered.

The charge had been rather predictable, this person clearly wanted to take the first move and the wolf allowed it. She sidestepped at the last moment, twisting her staff behind her and making only the slightest motion to avoid the blow before twirling and bring the staff down lightly across his back as he charged right through where she had been.

It hadn't even been a hard blow, only a simple tap as if reprimanding a student or an underling. That truly showed what she thought about this fight from the beginning. Yvonne took a few steps back and sighed audibly. "Too obvious, try again." She taunted, clearly only half interested in the fight as it was happening.

Mihail flew by her, completely whiffing his charge. He felt her staff come down on his back as he went by. The hit was enough to make him lose his footing as he rolled by, stinging from the original hit. He could feel his temp start to flare again as she taunted him.

Placing a steady foot under him, he slowly raised back up, trying to keep it cool. Attempting a new approach to the fight, he simple walked back into the fight, shield raised and ready for an assault.

Yvonne shook her head in disappointment as Mihail lost his footing and sprawled to the ground, though his roll was clean and he quickly regained his footing. When he started to advance slowly, clearly learning from his previous mistake, the wolf rolled her eyes. Now that just wouldn't work for her at all, she wanted to see what he was capable of and she wouldn't find that out this way.

"No wonder you couldn't protect your sister." She taunted, "Clearly she needs someone like me around, you can't do anything." It was a low blow, but this wasn't even a fight yet and she was finding herself to be quite bored with this situation already. This was supposed to be a fight and he had done nothing but hide behind that shield.

The wolf lunged forward with her staff and unleashed a flurry of blows on the shield, looking to see just how much punishment he was capable of taking. Her rather chaotic nature didn't give her much room to hold back, so each strike was just as strong as the last one as blow after blow rained down on him.

All this was to her was a test, a game almost, to see just what kind of person she was dealing with. She wasn't seeking to kill or injure, as much as she would have loved to indulge in the latter. But if he wasn't going to take the fight seriously then she couldn't think of any reason to continue it.

Her shot at him being to weak stung, but he knew he couldn't let it get to him if he wanted to win this. "Keep on talking..." As he came in range, she began striking repeatedly, forcing him to come to a stop. The hits were fast, but it wasn't enough to break his guard, for at least the time being.

Hit after hit, he knew he was running out of time, and she didn't seem to be slowing down. Taking a chance, he memorized the rhythm of the hits before tilting his shield to make her open up for a swift attack. Not going for his patented parry and slash, he continued sliding the shield up the side of the staff in an attempt to keep her open for a shield bash.

Yvonne's eyes flashed with excitement when she saw the shield tilt and begin to slide up her staff, hoping to keep her open for some kind of strike. She almost laughed at the fact that she hadn't predicted he would do that, but it didn't matter since his maneuver wouldn't work if her staff was no longer there.

"Close!" She said with a wide grin before both her thumbs flicked over the hidden locks on her staff and it separated back into two pieces, the shield finding itself suddenly hanging in open air. One more flick of her thumbs and the blades of the scythes extended, gleaming wickedly in the moonlight as she turned her body into the path of Mihail's outstretched arm to keep him from being able to bring his shield back in.

"What will you do without your precious shield now?" She asked with a cocky grin, one scythe blade hooked in the elbow of his shield arm and the other placed between herself and Mihail. She wasn't making a move, simply waiting and ready to react to whatever he might try.

Seeing that he was in a bad position, he attempted to retreat, only to catch his arm on the blade of her scythe. He hadn't readied his axe, thinking to only go for a hard hit and not a potential kill, meaning he was to far to react in time to actually do any good. Putting a little distance between them, his arm hung loosely, feeling the sting from the cut. He shook out the arm some, knowing that the stinging meant it was only a shallow cut, while he attempted to formulate a new plan of attack.

'Gonna have to start using the axe now that she's pulled out her own blades.' His blood was really started to flow by this point, as his semblance started kicking in. Knowing that his semblance could be the only thing that could give him a chance, he had to make another charge.

Much like the first time, Mihail pulled his shield up high as he charged in, this time with his axe ready to pull up and swing at an opening.

Yvonne let him disengage from the tangle they were in, grinning slightly as she took a step back, her scythes spinning in patterns around herself as she continued to look relatively bored. She had to fight back a sigh when he charged back into the fray. 'Some people never learn.' She thought as she readied herself to react to this latest attack.

She flicked the two locks on her weapons once again, retracting the blades and forming it back into a staff just in time to begin to sidestep the charge once again. Only this time, she wasn't going to let him simply charge right past freely. Her right arm tensed up as she dropped low and raised the staff up to strike his legs out from under him in an attempt to trip.

As his semblance fully kicked in, he began to take in every detail during his approach. Seeing her revert her weapon back to a staff, he knew she was on the verge of dodging, but due to his momentum, he wasn't able to shift his weight enough as she side stepped, but he was able to read her like a book as she lowered herself and readied a low sweep.

Planting his foot, he put enough power into this jump to just clear her sweep. 'Don't get too cocky' he thought as he landed. He put the brakes on, coming to a stop just a few steps later, now that he had lost enough speed. He turned on a dime, hoping to take advantage of the hopefully surprised assailant as he charged in again.

The wolf growled in annoyance when her opponent had been able to jump over her strike, wondering just how in the hell he had managed to see that coming. She had moved at the last possible second, she hadn't wanted to give it away... She refocused and turned to align herself to Mihail, only to be face to face with him bearing down on her in another charge.

Yvonne cursed her sudden lack of focus as she was forced to meet the charge head on, having to take a step back and brace herself against the coming attack. She struck out at him with multiple heavy blows as he charged into her, hoping to use the momentum behind his charge as extra force behind her impacts. One small slip up had cost her the advantage, even if it had only been momentary.

She jumped back after landing her blows in an attempt to avoid whatever follow-through Mihail had planned. It was a bit irritating if truth be told, he hadn't managed to draw any blood yet but he had gotten close. In Yvonne's mind it had been a bit too close, she couldn't let herself be shown up by some student, especially not a human.

Mihail cussed as he barely missed, being forced to stop as several heavy hits landed on his shield. He didn't want to stop the momentum, but she was to quick for Mihail. After recovering from the hard blows, he stopped for a second as he gave a few huffs from all the quick sprinting he had done.

Taking in a large breath, he burst forward, this time with his shield lowered and his axe primed and ready to strike. He can see that she's getting annoyed with him, so he knew that he had to end it now.

Yvonne could hear the heavy breaths that Mihail was having to take, his fruitless charges at her leaving him tired and drained of energy. She grinned when he charged at her one more time, deciding that it was time to end this little game of hers since she was growing tired of it. She had figured this would be more of a challenge, but clearly she had overestimated her opponent.

The wolf completely disregarded her weapon and snapped a kick out that connected with his chest and sent him backwards. Whatever burst of speed or adrenaline had caused him to dodge her last attack hadn't helped him against a straight on attack, and she lunged forward as he fell backwards.

She dropped to her knees, straddling him while using her knees to pin his arms to the ground so he wouldn't be able to struggle anymore. She split her weapon once again and pressed the tip of one of the blades against his neck. "Yield." She growled, her voice making perfectly clear that it wasn't a question.

Feeling confident in his own ability, his semblance faded at the sense that the danger had passed as the woman connect a kick squarely with his chest. 'Shit!' was all he could think, not being able to say a word as his breath was literal kicked out of him. Losing his grip on his axe, he landed hard on the ground as the weapon slide off out of reach. It wouldn't have mattered as all he could do was wheeze as he tired to catch his breath.

Before he could recover, she was back on him, pinning his arms down with her knees as the cold metal of her weapon pressed up lightly against his neck. Breathing heavily, he had no choice but to admit defeat. "Guess you came to finish the job. Kill off the last of the Platons, huh?" He had to inhale after every word, still not fully recovered from the kick to the chest. "Well, go on. I'm not getting any younger."

Yvonne grinned as Mihail thought she was there to kill him, unable to hold back a laugh. "If I had wanted to kill you, you would have died cleaning your weapon." She told him, rocking back slightly to gain momentum before shooting up to her feet. The blades of her weapon retracted and she placed the split staff in their sheathes on her thighs.

She stalked back over to the slant of the roof where she had been perched before and lounged back against it, completely relaxed as if their little fight hadn't even happened. Her eyes were locked up at the moon as she began to speak. "Truth is, I saved your sister's life about a month back and she's been living with me ever since. But she can't remember a damn thing that happened before she woke up in that hell I pulled her out of."

The wolf's eyes then turned to lock onto Mihail. "That's where you come in. I need you to fill in the blanks. I have questions, and you have answers." She smirked before turning back to look at the starry night sky. "You were quite a pain to track down, it would be a shame for all this effort I'm putting forth on behalf of your sister to go to waste."

Mihail felt sick as he saw that smile creep across her face. Even after she pulled her blade away from his throat and unpinned him, he still had a sense of uneasy about her. As he tired to sit up, he felt a sharp pain shoot through his chest, most likely a dislocated rip. Looking around, he was able to pick out his axe laying a few feet off. Scooting over to it, he used it as a support while he raised up to his feet.

He turned to see her back up on the roof that she had popped down from before, telling him that she had actually saved his sister. Leaning up against a wall, he let out a sigh before cringing in pain a little. "At least she's safe..." He was sadden to hear that Emilia probably doesn't even remember him, but his mind was put to ease to her that she was still alive.

Turning back to him, all Mihail could do was comply for now. He was in no position to do anything himself, and it sure didn't sound like she had any problem with killing him anyway. "Fine then..." He took in a sharp breath as he felt his ribs ache. He slumped back down, feeling uncomfortable at first, but soon settled down. "Emilia is my adopted sister. My father raised us both, and trained both of us to become hunters like him. Almost two years ago, things went to hell. I was out of the house when someone had attacked and killed my father before setting the house a blaze. I came back in time to see my sister running away frantically as I went in to see if my father was alive. Obviously it didn't end well. By the time I got back out, she was gone."

Mihail paused for a second as she stared up into the sky, catching his breath. "Weeks later, the police gave up on looking for her, declaring her dead. At first I didn't want to believe it, but after a few months of looking for her myself and not finding a single trace, I had to just accept that she was dead."

"Two years..." Yvonne echoed, unable to maintain her cool and indifferent attitude when she finally discovered just how long Emilia had been missing for. It infuriated her, she could feel her blood practically boiling as she realized that the girl had gone through almost two years in that hellish place...

She pulled herself from the anger that she felt when Mihail admitted to thinking that his sister had been dead. "Well, she's not." Her tone was softer now, thinking of Emilia most likely still asleep in her bed.

As horrible as it was, what had started as simply mindless sex between the two of them was turning into something else for her. She was starting to feel affection for the damaged girl, something she wasn't even sure Emilia was capable of returning. The wolf still didn't know what to make of the whole situation.

"I can't take you to her though. Not yet." She said, finally pulling herself from her thoughts. "Maybe in a few days..." Yvonne wasn't really sure what to say about that, after all Emilia still wasn't entirely stable. She was well on her way to recovering though, physically she seemed to be back to an acceptable standard. But it wasn't hard to tell that her psyche was horribly scarred, and Yvonne wasn't sure she would ever truly recover from what she had gone through.

"I need to think of any way to jump start her memories, so she might remember something about her past." She sighed and propped herself up on her elbows against the slope of the roof, she had been trying to think of ways to do that but had come up with absolutely nothing.

"I can't have you showing up and messing with all the progress I'm making." Yvonne explained rather bluntly. "If all her memories come back to her at once or something, it could seriously mess her up more than she already is."

Mihail's eyes and spirit sank when she told him that even after two years, he still couldn't see his lost sister. Now that he knew she was alive, he needed to see her more than ever, but the woman seemed pretty adamant about not There was still a few things that stuck in his mind. "Then could you at least tell me something." Finally catching his breath again, Mihail slowly raised back up to his feet, the pain of his ribs turning into a dull aching.

"Who in the world are you...I'm thankful that you saved her life, but why are you doing this?" He knew he probably wouldn't get an answer back, but there was still one thing he wanted to know. "And who the hell was it that hurt her. I don't care what you think about me, but no one hurts my sister and gets away with it."

Yvonne's ears twitched when Mihail asked her who she was and who hurt his sister. And just like that the smirk was back on her face. "It's not important who I am." She said with a small and dismissive shake of her head. It would make things easier if she didn't tell him, just so he didn't do something stupid with her identity like go to the police just because he wanted his sister back.

"As for the bastards..." Her smirk took on a far more sinister look as she locked eyes with Mihail. "Once I get my orders, let's just say they're not long for this world." She gave a small chuckle and then shrugged, reaching up to pull the black hood over her head.

"But I've already said too much."

She stood up and walked over to the door that lead back into the school, giving one last look over her shoulder. "Meet me up here in three days. Maybe I'll have more information for you." And with that, she disappeared through the doorway.The last thing Mihail would see of her would be her fluffy white tail disappearing through the shadow of the door.

She had already been out for far too long, there was a chance Emilia might have woken up and wondered where she had gone. The wolf knew she would have to come up with a good excuse this time, and after that she'd start trying to see what she could do to kickstart some of the girl's memories.

For his first question, Mihail received what he expected, but it was her second answer that worried him. The fact that she was receiving orders to take out who ever it was that hurt Emilia worried him. And the way she seemed to think it was nothing but a joke to her worried him even more. "Is she some kind of mercenary or something?"

As she turned to walk away, Mihail found him self staring at her swaying hips. With a slight grunt, he adverted his eyes while she told him to meet back her in three days. 'If it means getting another look at that view.... What the hell am I thinking, she just kicked my ass.'

It was another clear night while Mihail sat up on the same rooftop. He rubbed the still sore ribs that were dislocated a few days ago by a vicious kick. He had been able to hide this injury somewhat from his team, but the injury was able to keep him up for most of the nights, even though his mind was a little at rest

Stifling back a yawn, he brought up his weapon, wanted to continue his work from a few nights before. "Taking her sweet time, isn't she." He had been sitting out there for some kind, and was feeling a little chilled from the cold wind that had picked up.

Sneaking into Beacon had become a complete joke for Yvonne, getting to the point where she would simply walk in like she belonged there even though she could easily pass for the most senior trainees there. She made her way through the Academy to the staircase that would lead to the rooftop balcony where Mihail would mostly likely be waiting.

Since she hadn't been too concerned about stealth for this visit, she simply wore her clothes from earlier in the day. This would only be a brief visit anyways, she didn't plan on staying too long as she had no real reason to. She had gone to the gym before heading to this meetup, so she would be eager to get back to her apartment when all was said and done.

At that moment she wore another pair of black leggings and black boots, as well as a dark blue tank top that clung to her toned body like a second skin. Her white hair was pulled back into a ponytail, and her fluffy wolf tail swayed back and forth behind her restlessly. The cold had no real effect on her, the chilly night air being almost warm compared to the bitter nights she spent in the forests.

When she opened the door and walked out onto the balcony, Yvonne was a bit surprised by the fact that Mihail was already waiting for her. "Been waiting long?" She asked rather casually.

Hearing the familiar voice of the woman that had bested him a few days ago, he turned his head to see the rather stunning looking woman. Blushing a bit, he turned his head back down to his gun, hoping to hide his face before she got a look. "Uh, no, I've just started to settle down." He was completely lying, but he could quite think after seeing her in those tight clothes.

"S-so, what did you want to talk about." Mihail tired to get his mind off of the image, but he wound up fumbling around with a few of his tools because of how distracted he was. "How's my sister doing? Not giving you to much trouble, I hope." He finally steadied his hands as he settled for just polishing the gun at this point.
