| Just wondering, how battle ready do you think your character is (Based on how you play them in your RPs, their accomplishments, important factors, etc.) compared to actual RWBY characters? Say, using figures of how they tackle Grimm?
Let's say on a scale of one to ten, where someone like Jaune (At least at the moment) would be around a 5 (A little better than the average person at fighting Grimm and other enemies.), other major characters like Ruby and Pyrra would be around 7s or 8s (Able to take lesser Grimms in droves, hold their own in a fight with the Giant Grimms with a good amount of difficulty but still need help from a team to fight them for the most part.) and the Hunters and Huntress teachers would be assumed 9s or 10s (Speculatively able to take Giant Grimm by themselves.).
I think Ryuuji is probably a high 7, maybe. I think it'd be pretty difficult to have him fight one of those giant Grimm, particularly the flying types.

| Note that team RWBY is explicitly composed of freaks. Yang is naturally talented in all areas, Blake has years of real combat experience, and Ruby and Weiss were both trained since they were young (Ruby, by a known master).
Using them as a measuring stick for what's "normal" at the level they're training at is probably a bad idea.

| Fair enough, but in this case, a ton of characters in the rp probably have an equivalent training, so its not as completely 'special' here. | |

| Sonny is probably a 7 as well. While not excelling beyond natural, he is better than the usual due to his family ties with hunters. While he can hardly do much against larger enemies (6), he can take on a pack all by himself with his style of weapons (8 ).

Using them as a measuring stick for what's "normal" at the level they're training at is probably a bad idea. I'm going to have to argue with this. I'd say that, with the freedom to create their own characters and character histories, a great deal of the characters in the RPG are far more powerful than those in the actual series. Therefore, I don't think that this scale can actually work. Characters in the series are certainly more powerful than ordinary people, but I'd say that our fan made ones are the real freaks. For example, my character Nathaniel might be about a six or seven against Grimm, but against other humans he'd be well above ten.

| I don't know, I think Yang might also be about a 10 with people, judging from her intro. Hell, with Spencer's particular set of skills, the style of his blade, and the caliber of his weapon, I'd say Spencer is pretty-damn good with humans too. The simple weakness of needing to reload each shot one-by-one really marks down Spencer for packs of smaller grimm. Even with weapon strength being a factor.(5) But, with his particular ability to fire 10 armor-piercing .50 cal. shots quickly and accurately, he can take down a heavy opponent much easier than your average hunter-in-training. (~8.7-9) This leaves Rouge at around 7 as well. He is well-trained but there are more packs of grimm than large ones. | |

| I kind of get what you're saying, but I still feel that the characters in the RPG are the real freaks. With regards to Yang I am inclined to agree with you, for the most part. However, (I haven't really looked into this and I could be completely wrong) it seems to me as though the trailers might actually have happened after where we currently are in the series. Everybody seems to be much more capable in them than they are now. | |
