| CHARACTERName: Alice Heart Age: 16 Gender: Female Symbol: - Spoiler:
Occupation: Homeless/ Takes on various jobs to get by Appearance: - Spoiler:
At a height of 4’8 ft, Alice wears a blue combat dress with a white ribbon tied around her stomach like a bow. Wearing a headband with a white bow, she also always wears a sort of rabbit hat that makes it look like she has white hare ears. History: - Spoiler:
It was a harsh and painful time for many people. Towns were burned to the ground, the world was ruled by hatred and violence, and people were forced to live in poverty with the exception of the undertakers and gravediggers. It was the days of war that plague the land. The faunus continued to fight so that one-day they would achieve the equality that they desire. In opposition, the humans hold on to their pride stubbornly and fight for the sake of their self-determined dominance. The war went on for years without any sign of end. Many withstand the suffering and twice as many fall into their eternal rest.
Those who withstand undertake the trial of suffering and grief unlike any other. Compared to the anguish they are forced to undergo, it are those who go into their endless slumber that appear to be the most fortunate. During these times, the faction of humanity has come to capture many faunus soldiers and civilians as prisoners of war. Deciding that housing them in prisons would cost too much material and resources, the humans decided to instead fence them in like the animals they believed them to be.
Countless numbers of faunus men, women, and children were placed in these camps in large crowded numbers. They were rarely given food or water. The food they were given was always in poor amounts and was far too close to their expiration to last them the two weeks before the next distribution. The faunus of the camps turned pale and weak of starvation as the months went by. Slowly they wasted away, their very clothes falling off of their bony bodies.
The drinking water comes from a hole dug into the dirt. The water is salty and beyond filthy. In many accounts, many have turned ill trying to drink from the pool but it is the only water source they are given. Whether they die of disease or die of thirst was no concern of the humans.
Without even plumbing or clean water, the residents of these camps were literally surrounded in filth and grime for the years of the war. Diseases spread without aid or treatment. It turned many weak and pained beyond thought. Countless faunus turn pale and weak in the terrible conditions that were forced upon them. Thousands of innocent faunus have died a painful and slow death, their carcasses lying on the ground already decaying and rotting. Countless faunus would die in these camps but none were ever moved or giving the courtesy of proper burial. Their cadavers would simply liter the grounds and rot, furthering the spread of horrid diseases within the fences as their flesh rots in the blazing sun.
The faunus was placed in these camps as if they were animals just as the humans have deemed them to be, yet they were treated worse then even insects.
The worse of these cases were the forced residents of these faunus camps who were not faunus themselves. There were those among humans, though so miniscule in their rarity, which did not think of the faunus as animals or beasts. They tried to defend the faunus or moved to end the war with out fighting. These people were called one thing. They were called traitors.
Those who defended the faunus, who used their power in order to aid the faunus, were all considered traitors. They were traitors to their very race and thus were condemned to the camps with wallow in filth and disease along with the very beings they had moved to aid.
Her name was Alice Heart. She was a race traitor. Born of a cursed upon union between a faunus and a human, Alice Heart was born a human girl with her mother’s faunus blood in her veins. The same was for her older sister, Evangeline Heart. The exception was that she was born a faunus with her father’s human blood within her and her mother’s ears of a snow-white hare on her head.
The elder sister had always suffered discrimination due to her prominent ears that adorn her head. The younger was able to avoid such cruelty due to her appearance as a full human.
The elder was a kind and humble soul. She never resented the humans for their treatment to her kind. She held to heart that everyone had a light in them. No matter how cruel or hurtful they were to her, Evangeline never held a grudge towards them. She simply smiled and went her way. Evangeline was always a kind and honest soul. She was kindest to her little sister Alice, a small sweet little girl who was always close to her. As a human, Alice was envious of faunus. She wished to be just like her sister in every aspect. Her beauty, her kindness, everything that made Evangeline who she is was what Alice aimed to be.
Then the war came and everything turned for the worse. The faunus fought the humans and the humans fought the faunas. Many faunus have retreated to secluded villages where they live amongst their fellow faunus and avoided the battlefield. Evangeline and Alice lived in one of these villages in hopes of avoiding the conflict along with their parents who as a loving union between a man and a faunus wished no part in either faction. The family lived peacefully during the first few years of the war and hoped to continue doing so.
Sadly though, fate was not so kind to their wishes.
It was a cold afternoon in the fall. The red autumn leaves were carried by the winds. Many of the leaves though were colored a stranger red from the usual. The blood of the fallen colored them a grotesque shade of crimson.
Soldiers of the human faction invaded this secluded faunus village whose sole construction was for the sake of peace and pacifism. Riding in with sound of battle drums, the soldiers ravaged the village, kicking open the doors of families and burning down houses in flames.
The soldiers killed those who tried to fight back or run and for those who surrendered… most of them were captured alive. Alice and Evangeline’s parents locked the doors and windows and told the girls to escape through the back. Before the girls could argue, soldiers broke down their door and forced their way into their house.
Yelling at them to run, their father, a mere human man tried to hold off his fellow man to protect his family. The soldiers took aim at him with their firearms and were ready to shoot the man down. The triggers were pulled and the air echoed with bloody gunshot. Death had occurred in their peaceful household. It was the death of the mother.
Her eyes barely able to keep open, the mother had dashed to protect her husband with her body. Her back pouring blood, she refused to let go of her husband in her protective embrace until the very end as she falls to ground as a lifeless shell. The man who had loss his love roared in anguish, yelling at his precious daughters to run. He ran straight at the soldiers but was shot down before getting anywhere near them.
Their parents dead before them, their house surrounded by the human soldiers, the two sisters had no option to option. They could only hold each other, comforting each other in their hour or fear. The soldiers tried to pry Alice away from her sister saying that she will be put for adoption and spared for she was a human. Evangeline let go in reluctance, thinking only of the better for her little sister, but Alice held on tightly refusing to let go. She refused to part with her sister, to leave her alone in these times.
Alice was deemed as a race traitor for this and was sent to a faunus camp along with Evangeline.
The two sisters remained loyal to each other and stood by each other’s side through all the struggles. The mere scrap of food they would be given every two weeks seemed smaller and smaller with every distribution. The drinking water was too foul and wretched to even go near and the stink of rotting corpses surrounded them endlessly. Despite all of this, they were content with withstanding as long as they were together.
For three long years they withstood, staying by each other’s side at every moment. Evangeline never looked sad or displeased through the years. She held no hatred or fear so long as Alice was by her side. Alice stayed strong for her sister despite her young age. She refused to cry or complain. She always kept up the smile that her sister treasured despite the pain she went through inside. Having a small and young body, Alice did not require as much food so she would sneak shares of her food to her sister. Evangeline would refuse it unless Alice would keep most of the food. Alice was content with this as long as her sister would eat the amount she gave her as well as her own share of rations on her own.
As the years went by, Alice grew weaker and weaker. She barely grew anymore and could barely find the energy to walk. Evangeline would comfort her and Alice would feel warm inside. They were together, that fact was what gave Alice the strength to live.
One day, the two sisters were together as they always were. They starving faunus around them moaned and wailed in their pity and pain. The two sisters could hear this as clear as day but their attention was focused on each other in these moments.
Evangeline was lying down, a smile on her lips, her hands resting over her chest, as she looked up at Alice whose lap she was borrowing for a cushion. They were ragged, their clothes worn out and torn. They had withered in their starvation to a terrible bony state and were covered in grime and filth. Despite this they smiled at each other, willing to withstand as long as they were with each other.
“Little sister,” Evangeline murmured to Alice, “can you please… sing me another song?”
Alice smiled for her sister and nodded. Her throat was dry and her tongue was sore, but despite it all she sang beautifully for her sister.
” The Queen of Hearts She made some tarts, All on a summer's day; The Knave of Hearts He stole those tarts, And took them clean away. The King of Hearts Called for the tarts, And beat the knave full sore; The Knave of Hearts Brought back the tarts, And vowed he'd steal no more.~”
At that faithful moment an announcement was heard. As they listened the faunus were confused and doubtful. Then the gates opened and soldiers poured in, but none were armed or otherwise. The faunus were gathered up, living and dead alike. The ones who were alive were clothed and bathed by the soldiers then fed a bountiful feast. Those that were dead were carefully placed in carts and trucks to be driven off and buried properly. One by one the faunus were taken out of the camp by two soldiers and treated respectively. With no sign of deception or ruse the faunus were cheering and laughing. The announcement had spoken the truth. The war was finally over, a peace treaty signed by both parties. After all of their pain and struggles, the battle had ceased and they were to be sent home after so long. The faunus cheered and celebrated, singing and laughing and dancing all around the camp.
The sole difference was Alice who still sat on the ground on her knees, her sister lying on her lap with a smile on her face.
” The Queen of Hearts She made some tarts, All on a summer's day; The Knave of Hearts He stole those tarts, And took them clean away….
Alice continued to sing and sing with tears in her eyes despite the celebrated happiness that surrounds her. She continued to sing to her sister’s ice-cold body that grew still mere moments before the announcement was made.
“A peace treaty…. Just like that…” Alice murmurs. She wraps her frail arms around her sister’s head, tears streaming her face as she sobbed for the first time in the last three years. “If it was that easy… then why couldn’t they have done it sooner?”
~~~~~~
……….
Many years have passed since the wars.
The city of Vale at the depth of the night was a surreal and simple time, but there is always a place behind the curtains of such candied scenes. A group of men stalked the streets on a relentless hunt for their own satisfaction. They simply roamed without care or direction, seeking out their target whenever they manage to find one. That night they saw their prey and grinned at each other in a silent agreement.
Slowly stalking their prey, they followed her into an alleyway. When they were out of sight from the public, each of the men drew their weaponry and drew closer to their unnoticing prey. Then she turns around and they stop in their tracks.
“May I help you?” the small girl asks the group of men that followed her into the alley.
“Sorry kid,” one of the men said. “We didn’t realize it was just a hat.”
The man referred to the white hat that the small girl wore. It had two strips of cloth sewn to the top that made it look like white rabbit ears flopping from her head. The group of men looked at each other with disappointed expressions.
“Why was my hat so interesting to you?” the girl asks.
“Oh nothing, we just thought you were faunus,” the man mumbles turning around.
“…. I see…”
“Come on guys, we’ll find another one sooner or later, let’s just-“
Suddenly the world itself was turned upside down. Everything spun in circles. The man was unable to find his voice but felt the hard cement pavement hit his head as he fell. He tried to stand up but couldn’t feel his legs. For that matter, he could not feel the rest of his body either.
The man’s head, still conscious in these few seconds of living hell, lies on the ground, removed from his body. His body lies next to it, blood pouring from the open neck wound. The cut made was so clean and flat that it was a wonder if it was truly made with a mere blade, yet the little girl stood there holding the massive sword with a blade twice as long as her own body, her red eyes blank and expressionless. The group of men rushed her at the sight of their companion decapitated on the ground.
One could barely see the fight as it raged. The alleyway had no light within and everything within was shrouded in shadows. Besides the sounds of metal hitting metal and gunshots ringing constantly, there was another strange sound that could be heard from within the shrouded darkness. The sound was light and innocent, resonating enough to be heard pass the clashing sounds of battle. It was the sound of singing.
“ “The Queen of Hearts, she made some tarts, all on a hot summer's day. The Knave of Hearts, he stole those tarts. The mad Queen said, ‘Off with his head! Off with his head! Off with his head!’” The clouds parted letting the moonlight shine through, finally lighting the darkness in the alley. The little girl stood there, her blade sheathed away in its scabbard. Surrounding her were cold lifeless bodies, crimson blood pouring from the horrid wounds. Heads littered the ground, each one featuring its own expression, frozen in that state that kept present the final expression the man had made before death had taken him. The little girl stood there silently, not a scratch or a drop of blood staining her.
“Oh... no more heads to cut…”
Alice picks up her plastic bags and went her way, leaving behind the bloody mess.
~~~~
Making twists and turns through alleys she finally found herself in the dimly lamp lit alley where faunus of all kinds sat around, wearing worn out clothing and rags. Oil drums are brimming with fire and many tired faunus men and women sitting around them to keep warm.
The little girl enters the depressing scene of homeless faunus abandoned by society, her bunny eared hat flopping with every step. It didn’t take long for her to notice and she quickly received smiles and greetings from the homeless faunus around.
“The manager gave me more of the leftovers today,” she states with a bright smile as she raises the plastic bags in front of her. She receives gratitude and praise from the surrounding faunus as she passes out the food to everyone with a smile.
“Bless you Alice,” an old faunus man with beagle ears said as she gave him some chicken and bread. “You give this old fool hope for our future. As long as someone as kind as you exists in this world I can have faith that we will one day see a better day.”
“It’s no trouble really,” Alice replied smiling. “Here, have some more. You look absolutely famished.”
“An angel my dear, you’re an angel,” the old faunus man exclaims taking the food. The surrounding faunus readily agreed, continually praising Alice. “It’s so unfair…. A young soul like you not being able to attend one of those smarmy colleges and getting yourself a future because of money….”
“I don’t mind,” Alice states. “I mean… You all taught me how to fight and all. I don’t need to go to combat school.”
“Many of us here are veterans from that horrid war,” the old man states looking around, “but you need real teachers to teach you things. Besides, nobody would hire a huntress without a degree or record.”
“I will find work one way or another,” Alice states confidently as she walks away holding nothing but a piece of bread for her dinner. “Besides… hands on experience is better then any teacher.”
“What was that Alice?”
“Nothing,” the girls says brightly with a sweet smile. Personality: Appears sweet and innocent most of the time but tends to be a little cold towards humans. Fairly strong willed, it’s hard to intimidate her or even surprise her. She shows a fairly kind side though during certain situations. Despite her strong front, Alice has a terrible childish side that often shows without her wanting it to. Other Skills:- Aura skills: While her aura does not provide as much of a passive protection as others do or even heals her wounds that much, Alice has learned and trained a special skill for the use of her aura. Alice is able to project her aura in the form of chains coming out of her body. The chains are as solid as a normal barrier of aura but posses the ability to wrap around or ensnare a target. The chains can be retracted back into the body at will but can be broken. The aura chains retain the durability of regular chains, as in the kind used for prison shackles. If broken, Alice's aura level is lowered by a large percentage and she will suffer exhaustion. Developing this skill has cost Alice her ability to fully protect herself passively with her aura so she suffers damage much more easily. - High speed dashing: By applying her semblance to herself, Alice can make herself much lighter thus resulting in her speed increasing to much higher velocity. If she decreases her weight to the point of a feather she can dash at extreme acceleration to move to another spot at almost instantaneous timing. The problem though is that she will be unable to turn of change directions during these movements. Strength: - High speed and agility. Alice’s small body is agile, nimble, and fast. His some minor acrobatic ability. Can perform quick and precise melee strikes. - Cold hearted. When in a serious fight she has no hesitation. - Quick witted. Able to think fast and produce quick reactions to situations. - Small frame. A small target is hard to hit, especially when it moves fast like Alice. - High awareness: Is very sharp when it comes to her surroundings and very aware when it comes to understanding the situation. Weakness:- Low strength. Alice possesses average strength for a little girl but as a huntress she is very low par in comparison to what should be the average. In a test of strength against just about anything, Alice is sure to lose. - Light weight. Weighing so little herself, she can be pushed around easily by heavy forces. - Not good with firearms. Though her weapon has shooting capabilities, Alice does not have good aim at all. Preferring close range fights, Alice has to shoot at a pretty close range to aim properly if not barely. - Instinctive. Tends to fight using impulse and instincts rather then taking the time to think things through. - Low Protection: Her aura does not protect her passively as well as others' so she will suffer damage more easily. Semblance: Weight controller: A semblance that has two different sides. One part allows Alice to make anything as light as a feather. In contrast, she can also make anything as heavy as a mountain. She can change the weight to anything between a feather to a mpuntain as she wishes. Neither of which changes the size or property of the object but instead controls the amount of force gravity has on a given object. Her semblance is what allows Alice to carry her weapon around and swing it easily despite her low physical strength. The drawback to the semblance though is that it requires physical contact. Alice must be in physical contact with an object to be able to apply her semblance on it. To keep something as heavy or as light as she wanted, Alice must continue to be in physical contact with it. The moment the contact breaks, the semblance cancels out and the original weight of the object returns. Just because she can make an object lighter, it does not mean she's any stronger at all. The weight of an object does not equal its strength or density. Ex: Alice could make an entire tree as light as a toothpick but she won't be able to uproot from the ground. Alice can make a car thrown at her as light as a child's toy and bat it aside but if an opponent swings a club downward at her and she attempts to block, no matter how light she makes the weapon or the person holding it her strength would most likely lose to the opponent and she would get crushed. WEAPON- Spoiler:
Name: Scarlet Empress Primary Form: - Scarlet Empress/Knave Guard:
The weapon itself is called Scarlet Empress, though the scabbard can be used as a shield. Secondary Form: - Jack Ripper:
The blades extend in this form to full length. Functions: All functions are shared between both forms. -Scissor blade: As presented in the design, the sword opens in the middle like a pair of scissors. The inner blades are about as sharp as metal sheers and can easily take off a head. -Steel cable: Blade can be launched from the handle while connected to a forty foot steel wire cable. Alice is able to use this on farther targets with much better accuracy then the firearm function, but is much slower then shooting a bullet. -Fire dust core shotgun shells: Short barrel attached to the handle that can shoot shotgun shells filled with fire dust. Explodes and combusts on impact. -Watch and chain: Not particularly useful in battle but it can tell the time with good accuracy. History: Custom built by Alice from scrap parts of disowned weapons she found abandoned in the scrap yard. After finding that hunting was one of the best sources of income, Alice decided to craft a weapon with guidance from the homeless faunus veterans she came to live alongside in the alleys.

| It's a cool sounding character. The only objection I have is the aura chains, but not the chains in their entire being. The only part of the chains I object with is the ability to wrap and ensare targets because in my eyes you are making it a secondary semblance which at this time is not something that exists in the world as far as we know. If it exists in canon you could have it fully.
My proposed compromise on this is as follows: the chains cannot be used offensively at the same time as she is using her main semblance, which if i'm understanding the character right would stop her from using her weapon effectively or at all?
Looking back over i renote the high speed dashing, which as explained now is a third semblance. I don't want to leave it as such, what do you propose we do to fix this? I have a possible idea for a solution, but i'd like to hear from you.

I have a possible idea for a solution, but i'd like to hear from you. You propose a fair and reasonable argument. The aura chains in their design was my idea of more like an extension of aura ability such as Lie Ren's technique in which he freely manipulates his aura to create concentrated shielding as well shoot it out as ammunition for his weaponry. The "wrap around" ability is not automatic, more like an option for an action. They basically act as normal chain whips and can break if enough force is applied to them which will drastically decrease aura levels. I also forfeited this character's ability to use aura to passively reduce or heal damage to balance it out. Keep in mind that I only try to propose my point on things and that I am opened to your idea of cancelling the semblance temporarily during the use of this ability if you deem it still necessary. The high speed dashing is not a supernatural ability more like a high trained stat in the absence of the sacrificed strength factor. To put it in simple terms she's about as fast as an Olympic runner but a heck of a lot slower then the Flash. If you still think there is a need for a change on this, then how about I balance it out with an exhaustion issue? More running means more exhaustion. Although I would like to hear your idea as well.

| Hmm, interesting. While writing the prior comment I did forget about the fact that you had given up the the passive reduction and healing. One downfall to commenting via my tablet is I can't go back and look over a the profile easily and continue commenting effectively.
In that case alright, you can have the wrap around part. Does it require a physical action to use the wrapping ability or just thought? Also when you say they have the durability of regular chain what do you mean? There are way too many types of chains to say regular chains? (I learned a lot about chains due to another character.)
My thought on the speed was that it is one thing she can do with her semblance. In combination with her natural speed she makes herself light as a feather and can run faster effortlessly. But the downside is her speed like this doesn't allow for turning.

| There are different kinds of chains? I honestly did not know that. I suppose you learn something new everyday. I don't how to put it into terms but would the type of chains they use for prison shackles and ball & chains do?
As for your idea on the speed thing, I personally like it. I'll edit that in now if only to get it out of the way.

| Alright, sure. Prison shackle like chains would work. Didn't find out their durability but I imagine it would be a lot, but not a huge amount. Did find quite a lot of articles about pregnant woman being shackled though.
Once you've got that edited let me know and you'll be good to go.
