Melissa blinked in surprise as the girl randomly ran off, leaving her things behind. Lingering for a moment, debating whether or not to pick up the things, she shrugged and followed - This was turning out to be fun! Maybe she would end up running into a wall or something next - she had seen that happen once and it was great fun to watch!

Fei, though clueless and easily fooled by crafty men and women, was a very dedicated girl. Once a task was set upon by her, she threw her heart and soul full force into the gaping maws of adventure. Every cubic meter of it. Immediately, she had returned to the scene of the crime, it's crowded hallways now emptied out with a sparse few students here and there still chatting and lolling about doing angsty teenager things. Like a detective, she combed the floor and the walls and noted every fine "detail" she could pick out, never asking the "spirit" for help as she crawled on all fours, searching and sniffing like a bloodhound hot on it's prey's scent.

Melissa was a little confused by what the girl was doing - with so many people passing through the area, any traces would have been swept away or hidden in a swamp of other scents within minutes! But it was kind of fun to watch her searching around like that. Maybe she could plant a seed... Tearing off a scrap of paper from some random handout in her pocket she wrote, "Plan: Step 1, Scare person. Step 2, hide in fountains outside school". She waited for the girl's back to be turned before dropping it casually on the ground nearby, scrunching it up a bit to make it look more believable.

"Ooh look, isn't that a clue?" She said, pointing to the paper.

Fei was indeed struggling to find any source of the culprit behind her public scaring, the thought of being unable to find even a scrap of his or her existence was indeed infuriating. When it came to light that she may as well give up hope of finding anything, her trustworthy and so far spirit companion pointed her out to a clue she had no idea was even there. Why, she had searched that very spot just moments ago. This would've caused suspicion and concern in any other individual .. not Fei though, for her eyes shone with admiration and glee at the spirit's power.

Scrambling over to pick up the paper, she smoothed it out on her leg and read deeply into the handwriting of the culprit, imprinting it within her mind as she took in the words. "The fountains .. a meeting place!" She would exclaim in the middle of the hallway, neatly folding the piece of scrap paper, she shoved it into her breast pocket and stood up. Dusting the dust off her clothing she ran off with anew purpose and a new destination with a hopefully abundance of clues. Perhaps she might even meet the culprit him/herself!

As the girl ran off towards the fountains to hunt down the mysterious culprit, Melissa made a quick detour to her dorm to pick up a spare, thin, sheet before running off towards the fountains as well. She planned to wait in a building nearby, making sure the girl was distracted with searching for clues before doing anything else.

When Fei arrived at the fountains, she was slightly disappointed to find it empty and devoid of people, save for the few odd student lounging about in the shade here and there. Down on her knees and hands once more, Fei searched around the clean-cut grass surrounding the polished marble fountain. Oblivious to the fact that her "spirit" had gone off on her own, Fei continued speaking as if she was there.

"I think they've escaped, great spirit, I don't understand how they could have known!" She exclaimed once more, scurrying about here and there, getting her uniform dirty.

Grinning to herself, Melissa threw the sheet she had picked up over herself, adjusting it so that it covered her face and her upper body. She wasn't sure what she would do with this disguise - pretend to be an evil ghost? An informant? Both? She was sure she would think of something fun to throw out, though!

"...Are you the one? I have your second target and plan." She said, changing her voice to be unnaturally deep, although she did look a bit silly - a short, small person covered by a sheet with a deep voice? She wished she had gotten a blanket instead.

Fei gasped at the foreign voice and jumped up, hands raised and at the ready until she managed to calm herself down to listen. Tilting her head, she found it strange yet somehow fitting that this person be here now. Looking around almost secretively, she balled her hands into fists and approached the stranger.

"Y-yes, I am the one. Tell me of my target and plan, oh strange one."

Melissa-ghost froze for a moment - what was she meant to do?! She didn't think that the girl would actually believe her or anything, and she certainly didn't think she would go along with it. But this could lead to even more fun! She pointed at one of the fountains, "You must run around that fountain, shouting and praising the great lord of candy for an hour! The reward will be in the usual location and your next target will come in the form of a divine voice from the heavens!" She said in the same voice, before running away.

Before Fei could question the strangely clad figure further, he had already run off, leaving her to wonder just where exactly the usual location of the reward was. Resolute in her task though, she stood up and began running around the fountain, intent on finishing her task and willing to endure any embarrassing thing to find her culprit. Taking in a deep breath, she raised her hands to the sky and looked up.

"PRAISE THE LORD OF CANDY!"

Returning to the area, albeit without the sheet now, Melissa approached her test subject with a faked look of confusion and curiousity, "Whatcha doin'? Looks like fun!" She asked, though she was trying to hold back a giggle.

Fei stopped as soon as she heard the voice of her 'spirit', causing the poor girl to stop running around the fountain, which finally caught up to her as the dizziness made her fall backwards onto her rear. "I .. I was praising .. t-the L-lord of Can-candy .." She would say, rubbing her head and eyes.

Melissa nodded as if she completely understood what was going on (Which she did, but as if she completely understood what was going on even if she wasn't the one who had made the girl start doing it), "Good! It's never a bad idea to get some praise in for the Lord of Candy, otherwise you might get punished with a lack of candy! And that would be terrible!" She said, holding a hand out to help the girl up.

Still teetering from the very silly thing of which she herself took very seriously, Fei nonetheless reached out with a hand to grab Melissa's. She failed, grabbing the air next to the outstretched hand. Groaning a bit, she tried a second time and managed to get a hold of her companion's hand and with her newfound friend's help pulled herself up. Standing up, she brushed the back of her skirt clean and smiled, though she still seemed a little tipsy red.

"O-of course .. great spirit, are you here to gi-ff ... e.. give me the next instructions on my task?" She would ask, eyes blinking as the intense dizziness threatened to overpower her again.

"Hmm? Nope!" Melissa said simply, lying down on the grass, hands behind her head as she stared up at the sky, enjoying the feeling of the breeze on her face and legs. Times like this were very calming. They almost made her want to be a professional relaxer! But that didn't sound like a very exciting job so she never took the desire seriously. She simply continued to lie there for a while, having forgotten about the girl next to her.

Nodding, she sighed and plopped down next to the spirit, laying down on her back as she recovered from the dizzy spell.

"Did you scare me, then?"

Melissa scratched her head in confusion - Did the girl run into a wall or something? That had happened to her once, it was pretty painful and she did end up feeling dizzy right after!

"Huh? What do you mean?" She asked, just to make sure. Maybe she herself was the one that hit her head on a wall.

Smiling, Fei shook her head and figured it was a silly notion for her to be accusing 'the spirit' of this.

"Nothing. What's your name?" She would finally ask, the events of today tearing down anything that would have held her back from asking such questions.
