[RvA] The Aftermath: Recovery in the Ferrox Household.

Indigo licked her lips, smiling devilishly at Shem; she couldn't get his clothes off fast enough. Indigo straddled his waist, her tongue exploring all over his body before inevitably returning back up to his head to kiss his neck or nibble his ear. When she was satisfied and warmed up enough, she rolled over to let him on top of her small body, once again constricting him in her arms and legs. She breathed lustfully into his ear, "If you hold back on me at all, you'll regret it."

((Fade to black))

The night of pure pleasure and love comes grinding to a halt when, mid fade, Shem stops his "business" and just looks at Indigo in the eyes. They flash red for a second and the eye that is diliated shifts with the other eye and  more red mist comes from his mouth. A huge smile forms on his face and he leans in and kisses Indigo on the lips once more. "Baby..." Shem whispered in her ear. "....I WANNA MAKE A SNOWMAN!" He then proceeded to yell as in one quick motion, he jumps off the bed and flies out the window, shattering glass, letting the fridged air in as Shem, completely naked, goes outside and begins construction of a snow masterpiece.

Yep. Indigo was in heaven, she'd be content right here for just about all of eternity. but then, of course, Shem, stopped, tearing her out of her ecstasy. It wasn't a teasing stop, but more of a "something is wrong" sort of stop, Indigo didn't care either way, she was in no mood to be teased or halted on. She groaned, still panting from her exercise "Shem, please... Quit, uhn, teasing... Me!" She jumped significantly when Shem yelled in her ear and sat up on her elbows, dazed and confused, but mostly frustrated. "Wha-? Hey! Get back here! You're not done!" Indigo grumpily got out of the bed and stood at the broken window, crossing her arms as she watched Shem with a slight scowl. Okay, I've changed my mind, I don't like him better this way. Reluctantly, Indigo dressed herself in a bathrobe before stepping out into the frigid air through the front door like a normal human. Fortunately for Indigo, she was faster than Shem, even in the snow. Unfortunately, Shem was hellbent on building his snowman and Indigo wasn't exactly strong enough to pull him inside and keep him from getting frostbite. Damnit, I need help. But first, he needs clothes. The best thing Indigo could find to cover up Shem on such short notice was the blanket he had abandoned, luckily it was still warm. Getting it on Shem wasn't the easiest task, but now came the real difficult part, getting his mother and explaining what was going on. Indigo took the walk of shame, shuffling to Lucia's room before knocking and letting herself in. "Er, Miss Lucia? I kinda have a Shem problem..."

Lucia sat in bed reading a book, obviously in braile. She looks up towards the door with a concerned face. "Yes dear, what's the matter? Are you and him ok?"

Just as Lucia finished her question, Shem comes in the room excited. "I DID IT I MADE A SNOWMAN!" He yelled holding a tiny clump of melting snow in his hand. As he turns to run back out of the room. He kisses Indigo on the cheek and throws the snowball at the wall. "WHO WANTS HOT CHOCOLATE!?!" he yelled musically as he ran to the kitchen, which was followed by the sound of shattering plates.

"...and I just cleaned the kitchen too..." Lucia said with a frown as she got out of bed. Making sure her nightgown is decent, she puts on a small jacket and walks up to Indigo. "He will be better soon. I can sense his aura. Its almost mended." She leans in and kisses Indigo on the forehead. "He will thank you for this later on...trust me." She said with a wink as she went out to the kitchen.

Aeden had given up on sleep and instead chose to listen to some music to pass the night by the time he got bored it was already day break. "Well that was a pretty long night." He decides to stay in bed  and enjoy Lucina's company until breakfast is called. As he snuggles up close to her he hears a shattering of plates. For a moment he considers not checking it but concedes to knowing it wouldn't be right. "Urgh dammit Shem. I was this close to relaxing." Aeden brought his index and thumb together leaving barely any space between them. He quickly gets up and dressed for the day knowing he will not return to bed and heads for the kitchen.

Lucina wakes up shortly after Aeden and catches a quick glimpse of him changing and smiles. After she knows he's gone for sure she gets herself dressed and holds her head as she has a headache. "Damn it, why does my head still hurt?"She hears a shattering of plates and pulls open the door and begins to start for the kitchen. "What's happening now..."

Indigo gave Lucia a sad smile, forgetting that she couldn't see it anyway. She looked over to the kitchen Shem was busy destroying. "I can't help but feel he's getting worse... I'd take a look myself, but my aura is still empty. I mean, I pulled off something completely new, maybe it's not a big deal, but I don't know..." Indigo looked like she'd gotten an idea and turned back to Lucia. "Say, have you got any rope?"

"Rope?" Lucia said quizzically. "I don't really carry rope around with me, maybe Lillian has some." Lucia gets out of bed and attempts to make her way out of the bedroom with Indigo. She goes up to another bedroom and knocks on the door. "Lillian, you awake?" After knocking three or four more times, Lucia sighs. "Guess we're on our own..." Walking into her room, she comes out with all her bedding, spins them into thin ropes and ties them together. "Lets get him."


Shem comes into the hallway. "HI MOM!" He yelled before being tackled by Indigo and Lucia.


((short time skip))

After a fight Shem sits, tied to a chair, with tape over his mouth to shut him up.

"I dont think he is going anywhere...let's get some sleep, Indigo." She said before going to her room.


((TIME SKIP AGAIN TO THE NEXT MORNING SO INDIGO HAS AURA))

Indigo's scroll bleeped, indicating that, finally, her aura had fully recharged, as well as her need for sleep and nourishment being quenched. Besides her aching leg, Indigo was feeling as strong as she was before the fight. She stood in front of Shem, leaning over him to sniff his aura, frowning. "Alright." Indigo stood up straight and cracked her knuckles. "Haven't done this in a while. Hope there's anything left to inspect."

"GOOD MORNING BEAUTIFUL GIRLFRIEND OF MINE!" Shem yelled as he saw Indigo walk in. "Wanna continue what we started last night?" He said as he wobbled in his chair. "Im a hankerin to go make another snowman too...oh my god, lets make a snowman, why didnt I make one yet?! Wanna make a snowman?! LETS MAKE STEAK! I know a cow, I met a cow once. I think. His name was Edgar...no...wait...MR. MILKYFACE I SHOULDVE NAMED HIM! INDDIIIGGGOOO! LETS GET A PET COW WHEN WE GET MARRIED!!!" He whined. He stopped wobbling in his chair, his face grew serious. "You're going in arent you?.....BRING ME BACK CHICKEN!" He blurted before going into his trance like state to let her in his aura.

Indigo jumped quite a lot and blocked her ears when Shem suddenly yelled at her, a downside of having such keen hearing. She did blush a little at the mention of marriage though, it was something that had crossed her mind before. She chuckled a little and leaned forward to give Shem on last kiss before she attempted to fix him, after all, the last few times she went in didn't end too well. "Okay, see you on the other side..." Indigo placed her hands on Shem's heart and forehead, her aura ignited and the world around her faded as both her and Shem's eyes began to glow purple and red, respectively.

Indigo floats in a black void, no sound, nothing in sight until the world forms around her. She feet land on asphalt with a tap and it appears to be raining. Looking up towards the sky, Indigo would see this. A swirling storm of Shem's aura. Looking forward, there are children playing in the street. Or what would seem like they are playing. Three 12 year old boys surround a smaller child, around the age of 9.

"You gonna cry nerd?!" One boy said pushing the smaller child.
"You are weak, no wonder why your dad never let's you come outside!" Another boy said, tripping the small boy onto the ground.

The kids make an opening to show Indigo the victim of this teasing. Sitting on the ground, on the verge of tears sat an 9 year old Shem Drakur, hiding his eyes behind glasses, way too big for his face.

"L-leave me alone you jerks!" Shem yelled in which the boys in return began to beat up the pint sized Shem.

Just as the 12 year olds pile on the little boy, Shem's eyes flash red. The 9 year old stands up, and swings at the leader of the 3, sending him flying a few feet away, landing on the pavement near Indigo's feet. The other kids run in terror as Shem, in his first Ragnarok episode, roars like a beast at the kid he just punched, prompting the 12 year old to run away, peeing his pants in the process. Shem, snapping back to reality, began to cry and fall to his knees.

Despite the scene taking place, Indigo was still entranced by the scene, her eyes wide with awe at the massive scene and the sky overhead. "Incredible! Amazing! Look at all the details, the resonance paths! Eeee! Those polar auric waves!" Like a child in a candy store, Indigo frolicked around the wonderland, examining every inch of the scene, wishing she had a notebook to write down all the details. "What materials are these made of? The atmosphere seems limited to a the local area, that means the size hasn't changed..." Indigo was snapped out of her trance by the child landing at her feet and the subsequent roar. She would have flash stepped if her aura worked in there. She spotted Shem, or at least a version of him and cautiously, her hand extended in a comforting way. Her voice was soft and motherly, trying her best not to startle or scare the young Shem. "Shh... Hey... Hey, it's okay... Shem... Do you recognise me...? It's Indigo... Don't cry... I'm here, I'm gonna make it all better."

((800 POOOOOOSTS))

The little Shem looks up at Indigo and jolts back, crawling backwards toward the wall of the building he was standing by. "S-stay back! Youre gonna hurt me too!" Shem stands up and runs away down the street, hugging himself in shame and terror.

Out of an alley, a cloaked figure emerges, holding a cane, standing and watching Shem run by then over to Indigo.

The scene of the past fades to black once again and with a lightning flash, Indigo appears standing in a mob of civilians. They seem to be focused on a certain small household. The Drakur Armory.

"Get the monster!"
"LOCK HIM UP!"

Some of the crowd members threw rotten food at the house hold as a short middle aged man pops his head out the door. "GO AWAY! YOU ARE THE MONSTERS!" Marshall yelled to the crowd. Unfortunately, He chose the wrong idea and opened the door. The angry mob barraged the door, a few running inside.

Being forced outside, thrown into the angry crowd was a teenage Shem, around the age of 13. "Why!? Why are you doing this!?

"MONSTER!"
"GET HIM!"
"LOOK WHAT HE DID TO MY CAR!" A rioter said, pointing to his car, with the front of it punched inward.

Two rioters had chains with them and began to tie Shem up in chains. "We're going to lock you away for good like the animal you are..." One said to him, resulting in the crowd cheering.

"Stop it!" Shem yells "It going to happen again!" As he fought back tears and pain as the chains constrict him. His red aura began to glow. "RUN! PLEASE! LISTEN TO ME!"

Some of the rioters saw the red and began running in terror as some continued to taunt him. Just then it grew silent as a monstrous roar and a bright red glow formed in the center of the crowd. Indigo, would then see the Shem that fought her sister. All beast, no man. Breaking the chains, Shem stood on all fours, labcoat torn in 2 like 2 tails. The crowd now is in chaos as people run and scream. Shem lets out a deafening roar as he then jumps from the ground to a car, crushing it and then began climbing a building.

The same cloaked man with the cane comes walking out of the Drakur house and watches Shem go do what he did on that fateful day where he took out a section of the city and looks over to Indigo again.

Indigo took a step back, she wasn't fully prepared for the change of scene, but handled it without much trouble. She watched in horror, the scene playing to dulled eyes that refused to accept what she was seeing. Her reaction to Shem bound in chains barely amounted to her reaction to Shem's rampage, tears streamed from her eyes. Shem had told her about this day, though she never believed it. Perhaps she never wanted to believe it. Inside another's aura, Indigo's own abilities are stifled and difficult to use. Thanks to that fact, the angry crowd didn't cause her to hallucinate or flashback, but Shem's capture and subsequent attacks pushed her emotions to a new limit. Her eyes flashed purple and her body began to glow dimly. She grit her teeth and clenched her fists. She would have done something if the thought didn't echo in her head It's not real. Not at the moment at least.

Light footsteps patted behind Indigo, and a tiny arm reaches Indigo's tights and pats her leg. It was the child Shem that was in the first vision. "He's not mean. He helped me." Looking up to the sky, looking at the giant swirl. "Doesnt look like it, but he helps me when I'm in danger."

The figure in the door way turns to Indigo and child Shem and walks back inside the imaginary Drakur House, limping on his cane.

"That man has been here since the fight with daddy." Child Shem said. "I think its what's left of Ragnarok. We should follow him." Turning in front of Indigo, he holds up his arms, wanting to be picked up. "Want to go see? Might be another memory!" C. Shem smiled.

If anything could snap Indigo out of her trance, a tiny and adorable Shem could. She couldn't hold back a massive grin at the sight of the little boy. In fact, she hadn't even noticed the cloaked figure until he pointed it out to her. Indigo's mood changed suddenly again, this time filled with distrust. Could that broken figure really be..? Indigo turned back to the child Shem, so small and fragile, yet his innocence was long gone. "Sound's like fun! Come here, you!" Indigo smiled and scooped up the little Shem and, after moving her ponytail out of the way, placed him up on her shoulders before following the cloaked man who claimed to be Ragnarok.

Little Shem giggled as he was picked up and does a small cheer when he is placed on her shoulders. "Onward!" he yells pointing to the door.


Going through the door the tiny house turns into a massive ball room...or what is left of one. The ceiling is completely gone, with floating bricks chairs, cloth, and the piano- obviously destroyed floating in thee gray abyss above them. The room, fragmented with holes on the walls and ceilings, leading to the nether, bears resemblance to the ball room where Indigo saved Shem from degeneration many months ago. In the center of the room was a chair facing away from the door way. In the chair was the cloaked man, his hood down revealing it to be in fact Ragnarok. His hair a dark gray, his eyes empty as they can be, his skin pale and body is boney, one would think he is an old man. Cracks line his skin and every time he moved a faint crack was heard along the grinding of his weary joints. In his hand rests a carved wooden figure, a small figure of Indigo.

"Tick Tock....time grows thin... Remember those words Indigo?" Not expecting an answer, Ragnarok continues. "It all just disappears, doesn't it? Everything you are, gone in a moment, like breath on a mirror....I cant stay here any longer...."

Indigo, for a long while, was speechless. Truly, she tried to form words, but she couldn't think of anything. The words just wouldn't come. The past few minutes had only confused her feeling about Ragnarok more, but one thing was still clear: she didn't like him. "No. I- I don't remember those words..." Was the only thing she could manage to say. Trust had always been difficult for Indigo, there were only a handful of people she actually trusted, Shem was one of them and Indigo hated having to share that trust with what she considered a monster. A monster wearing the face of her lover. Indigo was fully convinced that Shem would have been better off if Ragnarok had never existed. All the problems he faced started and ended with Ragnarok. Ragnarok, Ragnarok, Ragnarok, I'm sick of it! I just want Shem, not the parasite that's been plaguing him! Of course, Indigo meant to say that out loud, but what she said instead was "Am I supposed to feel sorry for you? Am I supposed to forgive you?" Indigo wanted desperately to send him off with damnations, but couldn't bring herself to be cruel, as if she were cursing a dying animal.

"No..." Ragnarok said, weakly letting out a cough. Still has his back turned away from her, he looks at the abyss in the hole in the wall in front of him. "I want....I want to apologize to you...." Letting out another cough makes the small Shem on Indigo's shoulders hug Indigo's head tighter.

"W-what's wrong with him?" Small Shem said, a small tear in his eye.

"I..Im sorry Indigo and Shem...I have caused so many problems as I tried to help...I just gave you too much power....and I shouldve controlled it..." Ragnarok said, turning his head and looking at the two from the side. "Life is going to be different now, Shem..." He said as he attempted to stand up from the chair.

Wiggling off Indigo's shoulders, Shem runs over to Ragnarok, tripping over his tiny labcoat but continues to run over to him. "Different? Why?"

Looking down, Ragnarok kneels onto one knee, his joints creaking as he moved. He looks at Shem in the eyes and smiles. "Im going to go take a trip, Shem. Indigo will take care of you now, ok?"

"I want both of you!" Shem said trying not to cry. "You helped me be strong and brave!"

"You were already strong and brave, Shem. And you have such wonderful friends....And a wonderful girlfriend." He said looking up to Indigo with his fading red eyes.
