[TWTW - 21 Years Ago] The Vytal Festival [Closed]

((Welcome to The Way Things Were. The idea of this initial thread is not a key plot point or anchor but something 'light' to allow people to become familiar with their characters and their personalities. As a temporal waypoint to help you figure out roughly where your character is at this point in time...? Team MRCY are in their second year. It's likely some of the younger ones are still first years...So without further ado...))

Timeline Set : 21 years ago.

The Vytal Festival. One of the most exciting times of the year, where so many individuals from different parts of the world come together for one grand event. And also, conveniently enough for Beacon students one of the most relaxed times of the year, at least until it was your turn to put on your best and do the school proud.

The streets are crowded as decorations are put up, strangers from different parts of the world mingling and talking with one another about their chances, others' chances and the events of previous years. Yet to some this was something more than a social gathering. To some this was a chance at a date.

Together, Minos Ferrox and Lilian Young are an odd couple. One standing close to seven foot in height, his shirt open, metal bracers around his wrists and bare arms that do nothing to hide his nature as a strongman carefully and almost far too delicately escorting along a young woman, slender in build, short in height, silver hair carefully tied back as frilled, formal attire is carefully held up from the ground. She's laughing, carefully stepping back on silver edged heels as Minos half stumbles forward to catch some errant falling crates.

"Careful Minos! Don't drop them! We don't know what's in there!" There was laughter in her voice as she skirted around the strongman, watching him struggle under his own self inflicted problem. It wasn't her fault he hadn't been paying attention to his surroundings and had walked into a stack of crates, toppling them all over.  

Thankfully it wasn't a problem for him to catch them, lifting them with ease and blushing red with embarrassment. Sheepishly he starts to restack then, ignoring Lilian's giggles and teasing looks. It wasn't his fault that she had dressed up so for this festival..

"It's okay...I got this...come on. Let's go get something to eat after this..."

But not everyone this day was in a good mood. Stood somewhat further away from the happy couple, watching with contempt was a tall, slender figure, clad in robes of crimson, trimmed with gold. Resting in one hand was an angular, straight black staff, adorned with a crimson gemstone eye at the top. He was known as The Deceiver. The serpent in the gardens. The one who whispered with a silver tongue... When Ezekiel's semblance had misfired, early on in the first year and others got to see the 'true' forms of those around them...Ravi stood out. A devil amongst knights and reapers.

"Yes Ferrox. Enjoy this time with the woman. You are as weak as she. I had hoped you had more...potential. Still...there are others better suited for my plans..."

Sovanara strode through the brightly-lit festival streets, humming to herself softly, her hands holding one another behind their back. Her eyes glistened as they went over the various booths alongside the road. Her mind wandered off, cycling through the various topics locked inside her head, most that she normally wouldn't open, but considering what she was doing now, she allowed it. Just a little two years left before I become a huntress, and yet I don't even feel that much stronger. Her bright reddish eyes grew darker as they went from the booths to the sky. She took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, feeling the air flow through her chest.

Now that that was off her chest, she smiled lightly, bringing her view back down from the sky to the street. She now appeared to have more energy, a little bit of a hop in each of her steps. She sang softly to herself as she continued down the street, eyeing the wares as she passed by.

The loud horn of a ship coming into harbor could be heard over the crowd. A man and a woman rushed off the ship with the rest of crowd. "Oh, Alex, this is positively wonderful!" The woman says to the man trailing behind her as she darts from stall to stall, looking over the amazing foreign wares. "I know dear but will you- will you wait up!" He says as they both run into the crowd and through the marketplace. "We do have somewhere to be remember?" He says trying to keep up with her dodging through the crowd of people filling nearly inch of the street. Despite what he said Alexander knew he wouldn't be able to stop Maria from darting off.
