Appearance: Myren is 6 feet tall with broad shoulders, and weighs in at 200lbs. He has light blue eyes, short brown hair, and a short, thick beard. He wears a leather cuirass that extends down over the sides of his hips, which has overlapping strips of metal sewn into it. On his right arm he wears a simple leather vembrace, but the left boasts a sturdy, light brown armguard, shaped to vaguely resemble a large army ant, it's mandibles extended. his underclothes, and his casual wear, all favor function over fashion. A tan shirt and brown pants, as well as comfortable, well worn leather boots.

Personality: Myren is a kind person, if often underspoken. He prefers to let action speak for itself, but won't back away from conversation. Having been raised to respect authority, Myren takes direction well, is extremely loyal to his friends, and will go to almost any length to pay a debt. though not unintelligent, Myren is rarely the one making the plans, preferring to let others come up with the strategies, and doing whatever is necessary to carry out his part in them.

History: Myren was raised in a family with a long history of military service. the Aeacres' have never been leaders, but prided themselves on being capable warriors. his training began early in life and he was eventually sent to study further at sanctum academy where he excelled in his combat courses. For three years after sanctum he trained for the mistral regional tournaments with his father, only to be beaten every time by some younger girl.

Strength: Myren is a strong, capable fighter who can take a hit as well as he gives one. his aura is used almost exclusively for defense. his aura, in combination with his armor lets him take a lot of punishment without too much trouble. his only other ability is using his aura to root himself in place, which in combination with his outstanding defense, allows him to stand his ground against even the most powerful attack.

Weakness: not very naturally agile, attempts to supplement this with his weapon Mirmigi. He has a hard time seeing the big picture, and doesn't always predict the larger scale repercussions of his actions.

WEAPON

Name: Skorpios and Mirmigi

Primary Form:Skorpios is a broadsword, about three feet in length. Mirmigi is a hookshot which can launch the ant's head on his armguard out about 20 feet trailing a thin, yet strong chain behind it. upon impact, the pincers slam shut, gripping whatever they've embedded into. when not in use, Skorpios is sheathed on his left hip, while Mirmigi rests on the end of the armguard

Secondary Form/Function: around one foot down the blade, Skorpios' edges can detach and rotate to face upward. the main blade then retracts down, creating a two foot long short sword with a thin blade protruding at an angle from each side. these blades can slide inward, either grabbing anything held between the blades, or allowing it to be sheathed as such.

History:Skorpios is a nickname that Myren gave the sword himself. technically the blade is referred to as the blade of Aeureus, after a distant ancestor who is said to have forged it. however over the years, members of his family have passed the sword down through the generations and many soldiers have added personal touches to it. an ivory grip, a thick brown crystal pommel, and etchings along the blade all adorn this treasured weapon. Myren's great great grandfather modified the sword for it's new functions.

Mirmigi is a tool born of necessity. after Myren failed several obstacle courses during training, he decided he needed something to improve his mobility on the field. it began as a simple spiked chain, but with some dedicated tinkering, it soon found a much more personal form.

Looks pretty good. as a question for my own understanding. Is the secondary form similar to a trident almost? or a clawed sword?

it's definitely still a sword. but with smaller blades extended at a slight angle, which can close in a kind of scissor action.
