CHARACTER

Name: Salvatore Gaiman.

Age: 19, born the Fifth day of the Eleventh month.

Gender: Male.

Species: Human.

Symbol: Two curved feather quills above two ink splotches, giving the appearance of disfigured wings.

Occupation: Novice writer, student at Beacon.

Appearance: Stands at a height of 5' 7'' with a weight of 125 pounds. While thin, he visually lacks muscle, making him a very weak physical fighter. Usually cares nothing for hair control, and usually wears it in a curly, sloppy manner (which works well for his appearance, as it's nearly shoulder length). Can usually be found wearing a standard pair of cargo pants, partnered with some whacky or fantasy-esque shirt and thin jacket (usually those that he wore the day before). Always carries with him his favorite pens and trademark embossed leather journal, dragon cover and all. Wears a single pair of bronze glasses, though the frame has suffered countless scratches, and is never without his headphones or MP3 player.

Eye color: Teal-hazel.

History: The town of Deplume remains secluded to this day; built in the crater of a volcanic eruption, Deplume suffers from it's landlocked status and constantly demands exports from neighboring towns and cities. Because of this, the town's economy suffers immeasurably, leading to many bankruptcies among businesses and countless among the homeless. Salvatore, because of this, grew up as a thief, and not the best one, either. He wasn't strong, he wasn't agile, but he was fast, and more than capable of finding an alternate route through the city he lived in. After getting caught by the owner of a major pub (this job an attempt to steal booze for extra cash), the owner brings him to his hidden book collection (all of which he's written. Booze does wonders for creativity, you know). For days after that, the pub owner would provide Salvatore with as many books, drinks and food as he desired (so long as he worked for it, and fairly). Eventually, however, the bar began to lose both money and supplies, and Salvatore grew desperate to keep his only legal source of sustenance intact (that, and the only person he ever considered a father well-kept). So, he decided to sell the beloved stories his "father" had given him. Aware of this (similarly arriving to this conclusion, but denying it to the ends of the earth), Salvatore's caretaker sent him to Signal, demanding that he either learn to respect both authority and the importance of one's property and make it to Beacon, or to never return to Deplume. Angered by such a sentence, Salvatore vowed that he'd write the greatest stories the world had ever seen, and has doubted those words since the day he left Deplume. His time at Signal earned him equal ire from more gifted fighters and intrigue from his superiors due to his unconventional methods of combat. With his time at Signal complete, he set out for Beacon, hoping to make himself the man his father wanted him to become.

Personality: Salvatore is more than a little self-centered. He's always interested in whatever anyone else is talking about (unless he deems it completely idiotic), but would rather boast about his own achievements and plans. Hyperactive to be sure, but when his mood is sullied he's likely to skulk or brood for the rest of the day. However, he's always willing to lend a hand to those that need it, provided they listen to what he has to say. He's also a bit paranoid and erratic, and usually becomes melodramatic when logic is demanded in the situation.

Strengths: Above-average proficiency with Dust; because of his lack of physical strength, Salvatore decided to introduce Dust into his combat techniques, and has (at the very least) an unconventional method of application that, so far, has worked in his favor. He's also an incredibly skilled ranged fighter, more than an eagle-eye with his weapon in bow form. Also, as mentioned before, he's incredibly light-footed, but lacks skills in dodging oncoming attacks. Finally, his combination of Dust magic and combat make him an incredibly heavy hitter, as is his mission to finish bouts as soon as humanly possible (though his physical combat techniques at close range are adequate at best).

Weaknesses: He's more than likely to become injured in close-ranged combat. His weapon's dual dagger form has been used invariably with its other forms, so he isn't expected to last long toe-to-toe with something such as a mace or longsword. Second, his lack of logical thoughts and the recognition of
patterns leaves him relatively unable to predict an opponent's oncoming move and usually takes days or even weeks to decipher one's style of fighting. He's also rather naive, and falls for feints more often than not (that's not to say he makes the same mistake twice). Finally, he's liable to use up most or all of his on-hand Dust within the first few minutes of any fight he's in, making any weakness he already had at that point ten times more exploitable.

Semblance:

Manifestation - With his skills as a writer, Salvatore retains the skill to create and command corporeal creatures formed by Salvatore's physical aura energies. This creatures, while on the battlefield, can also be amplified with a portion of Salvatore's Dust, making them capable of launching "magical" attacks. This creatures can take on any form Salvatore desires, but their conjuration is taxing on both Salvatore's Dust supply and internal energy. However, they're the most powerful weapons in his arsenal, and his most preferred method of attack. While the attack certainly holds a lot of potential, Salvatore is usually only able to create a creature as large as a wild cat, the largest he's unleashed being the size of a Deathstalker (which nearly killed him, and hasn't attempt such a move since). His most preferred creatures are his Lightning Tiger, Ice Eagle and Steed of Flame, though he retains other options.

WEAPON

Name: Prologue and Epilogue

Primary Form: Prologue's/Epilogue's form for initial combat and storage are two Dust/ink pens made of ivory and onyx. With the Dust cartridges, Salvatore can "write" a degree of spells or can launch basic elemental attacks from their tips. When his Semblance is active, Salvatore can generate all manner of Dust creatures to assault his enemies at his beck and call.

Secondary Form: Aside from their pen form, Epilogue and Prologue can transform into two twin-bladed daggers, with tubes running internal within the blades (for added elemental Dust effects). However, they lack the ability to cast conventional spells and summon Dust creatures, making them a nearly close-ranged exclusive weapon.

Tertiary Form: Epilogue and Prologue's final form is a bow. By extending and conjoining, the two pieces can become a recurve bow capable of firing Dust arrows that fly with no arc (as they are comprised of energy and retain no weight (it's called science)), making them unparalleled in accuracy. As an added bonus, the bow is equipped with a sight just above the grip for incredibly long range shots.

History: Epilogue and Prologue were a parting gift from Salvatore's surrogate father, though he demanded that he constructed them from parts that he provided. However, upon completion, the two weapons received all manner of slander from Salvatore's father, leading Salvatore to treasure them as his greatest creation (thus far), and his greatest failure.

Ok, first issue I see with regards to the history. There's nothing wrong with it except for the fact that there's no mention of combat experience whatsoever. Beacon is very particular on students with skill or with known history and experience with combat and in this case, dust and his bow-pen thingie. You need to mention how he came to learn how to fight, both with dust and his weapons, and how he managed to do so given his circumstances.

Next issue is the Semblance. If you could manifest dust creatures that would take a lot of dust depending on the size and even more so due to the number of creatures he would probably make. As shown in the show dust is quite volatile and reacts quite bad with sudden impact (dropping the canisters blew them up in the courtyard) so the slightest impact would most probably cause them to blow up right away. I advise changing it to something along the lines of aura manifested creatures with dust properties. I'd also like to see limitations on these creatures due to the fact that this kind of thing has the possibility of being abused to some point and maybe a list of the creatures he makes most often. (We can't be having Godzilla's rampaging around. if ya get my drift)

Ok, now it seems better. I can't really picture the weapon too much in my head but if nobody else sees anything wrong with it then I guess it will do.

Approved. +1
