A Wolf's Perfect Timing [Closed]

((OOC: Timeline takes place on Wednesday of Week 16))

Dusk was walking briskly down the hall. There was no real reason, he just knew that it was a good day out. He could have walked slowly to go outside, but he just chose this pace. Whichever pace he was going to go admire the nice day, so he chose to walk quickly. Only one more corner and then out the door, he thinks to himself as he turns the corner.

Kai opened the door. Walking through before closing it behind her. She had just returned from a sparring session, her armour still warm from the sun. Too bad I have to go study, She thought, The weather is beautiful, it's actually a perfect beach day. She figured. She walked down the hallway. Her armour clinking lightly as she did so. Caught up in her reverie, she turned the corner to see a young man barreling down the hall. Too late to avoid him, he slammed into her, and the two of them hurtled towards the ground.

As soon as he collides, Dusk clicks his tongue speeding up his perception of time. Oh dear, she'll get hurt pretty badly if she falls like that. Dusk aims his arms back to catch himself and feels them moving to the right position. He makes his right leg bend at the knee downward so that he can land on his foot as well, but he just sees it happening in slow motion as well. Finally, he aims his left leg to stick out and hook underneath Kai's back to catch her, again his leg moves in slow motion.

Once he touches the ground he clicks his tongue again, having caught both of them from crashing down hard. Whistling, he says, "That was a close one. Are you alright, Miss?" he asks the girl.

Kai blinked, preparing to land rather hard on her backside. When she opened her eyes again, the boy had caught her, as well as stopped himself from falling. A confused look came over her face, What just...huh? She wondered, I could have sworn I was going down there. She looked at the boy, her mouth forming a small "O" before she said, "Uhh, Yeah, I'm fine." She said, still a little stunned about the rapid succession of events, "How did...What..." She stammered a little before saying simply, "You're fast."

Dusk chuckles before saying, "I wouldn't use that word, maybe accurate would work better." He gently sets her down on the ground before slipping his foot back so that he can stand up. Once stood, he reaches down his right hand toward Kai and says, "I'm terribly sorry for crashing into you. My name is Dusk Tempus." He gives a toothy grin down at the girl.

Kai looked at the boy for another second before getting to her feet, "Hey, don't worry about it." She said, "It happens. I'm Kai, Kai Brandt. Nice to meet you." She reached over her shoulder, readjusting the blade strapped to her back, which had gotten skewed during the collision, "In a bit of a rush, are we?" She asked, a light laugh creeping into her voice.

"I was just hoping to go outside to enjoy the day," Dusk answers. "Though, I probably could have gone slower," he adds with a chuckle and scratches the back of his head. "Anyways, it was nice to meet you Kai," he says with a grin. He takes a step toward the exit before remembering his manners, "Oh, actually, would you like to join me? I haven't got many friends since I joined this week and it'd be nice to spend the good day with someone."

Kai thought for a moment, Huh, I guess studying can wait a bit, it isn't like it's incredibly important, anyway. She looked back to Dusk, "I'd love to, just let me run up to my dorm and change really quick. I'll be right back." She set off at a brisk pace, taking the stairs up to her dorm two at a time, Ugh, I seriously need a shower. Not really enough time for that, though.

She reached her dorm, quickly undoing her armour and unstrapping her blade from her back. She swapped out the clothes she wore under her armour, putting on some lighter clothing instead. Now she wore a simple white combat dress that reached to about her knees in the front, but hung lower, down to her calves, in the back. She kept on the harness that held her blade, strapping the large sword on again. She sprayed a bit of purfume on before exiting the room again, walking quickly back down the stairs. She turned the corner to see Dusk there still, "Ready!" She said, smiling a him.

Dusk looked up and puts away his pocket watch. He double checks all three of his watches to make sure he didn't bump them and accidentally put back their time. He smiles back at Kai and says, "Great."

He walks to the exit doors and holds one open for Kai to step through. While he holds it, he asks her, "So, what would you like to do on this fine day?"

Kai stepped through the door, feeling the pleasant breeze hit her face, Wow, I didn't realize how nice of a day it is. She thought. She turned around, clasping her hands behind her back, "Huh, good question." She said, "I've got nothing specific in mind, how about you? You were the one ready to kill someone to get out here." She said, a small smile coming across her face.

Letting go of the door, Dusk thinks for a moment and decides to see how Kai would respond to some charm. "I must have had an idea of what to do, but meeting such a beauty, the thoughts had escaped my mind," he says with a bow to Kai.

Kai raised a single eyebrow, Well he's....forward, I'll give him that. She couldn't help but blush ever so slightly, "Kind of cheesy, but well played." She said, smirking a little at the boy, Well, either he's forward...or he's a pervert. She thought, Still too early to tell which, though. She turned around, looking up at the sky for a moment, "How about a walk around the pond, then?" She asked, brushing her hair behind an ear.

Dusk smiles and says, "Alright then, let's go." He starts to walk toward the pond and, knowing that she will be next to him quickly, asks, "What do you want to talk about as we walk?"

Kai increased her pace briefly so she came up alongside Dusk. She took a deep breath of the fresh air, letting out in a short sigh of contentment before she said, "Well why don't you tell me a bit about yourself? Why'd you choose to come here?" She asked, gesturing with her hand at their surroundings.

Dusk looks up in a wistful smile saying, "Well, I guess it all started back when I was little." He smiles back down slightly embarrassed and says, "When I was read stories of heroes and adventurers, I always thought about how fun it might be to go on an adventure, but I didn't think I'd be able to get there since my dad was just a shop keeper in Vale and I was just going to replace him when he retired."

Taking a breath Dusk continues, "Then one day, from stopping a burglar, I found my semblance. I realized that with it, I could make a difference in the world, so I decided to become a Hunter. It is also the best occupation if you wanted to go on adventures, so it worked out great."

Dusk smiles back to Kai, "Well, that's my story, what is yours?"

Kai giggled a little when the boy began talking, "Once upon a time", that's a good one. She thought. She waited until he was done with his story before she said, I completely understand, that's respectable." She said. After he asked her about her own past, she began, "Mine's sort of easy. I was born into a military Order, the Kyronic Order, and they sent me here to basically complete my training." She said, repeating the little white lie she had told a number of people at this point. She shrugged, "So here I am."

Dusk surprised at the short explanation, glances away, thinking, That... seems too simple. He looks back and asks, "But do you want to be here?"

Kai looked over to Dusk, "Well, I initially didn't care much, but now that I'm here, I've come to enjoy it more and more." She shrugged, "And now? Yeah, I love it here. I've met a lot of cool people and had some good times, and it seems this place always has something new to throw at you." She smiled at him, "Kind of like today."

Dusk chooses this time to over-dramatize the last thing Kai had said. He grabs the center of his chest and exclaims, "Ah! Your kind words have warmed my heart to a slow beat! I do believe it is stopping!" Right after he finished his ridiculous speech, he falls on his knees before slumping to the side. He lands on his back with a hand still over his heart and his eyes closed.

Kai glanced over at the boy, now on the ground and clutching at his chest, Oh boy. She thought. She let a sigh out of the side of her mouth, closing her eyes and continuing to walk, "If you think I'm stopping for you," She said flatly, "You'd be wrong." She gave him the cold shoulder, but she couldn't help the tiny smirk that appeared on the edge of her lips.

Dusk peeks out of his left eye and says, "Aww, that's no fun." He clicks his tongue and slows down her perception of time. Now that she is walking in slow motion, he stands up and walks to her side, thinking, Technically not stopping, but it'll do. He grins and clicks his tongue bringing her perception back up to speed. "Now that is just cruel, leaving a dying man on the ground like that," Dusk says jokingly.

Kai looked to her side, frowning a little, "Interesting." She said, thinking about what just happened, It looked like the trees were swaying much faster than the wind was blowing, he must have done something. She thought, And he seemed to appear right next to me. She had walked in silence for a few moments before she looked at Dusk again, "Dying is a bit of a stretch, but it also isn't too nice to use your semblance on a defenseless young girl, now is it?" She thought of the irony of her question, seeing as she still carried her rather large sword on her back, and giggled a little.

Dusk grinned at what Kai was saying, replying, "Seeing how I also used it to catch you from falling to the ground, I'd say it evens it out a bit. Nice catch by the way." Dusk chuckled thinking, Well, she's more observant than others I've met.

Kai shrugged, "Fair enough." She said, smirking a little, "And I was trained pretty well back at Kyron. They trained me to be observant, especially in these kinds of situations." She explained, shooting a grin over at Dusk. "Although I gotta say, that's a pretty neat power." She admitted, "I imagine it can be pretty useful."

"It has helped me a few times, especially in recent past," Dust agreed. He turns to Kai and asks, "So, do you have a semblance? Or have you not figured it out yet?"
