PostSubject: Arrival at the light [invite]   Thu Apr 17, 2014 6:13 pm

[week 8]
Walking off the airship, Ryth was deep in thought. "man, I never thought getting here would be that easy. I would've expected for them to look at my name and refuse me entry. well, now I need to find someone to show me where the announcement hall is." Ryth thought out loud, confusing people around him as it seemed like he was talking to himself partially defusing the creepy air he had about him since this was the first time he spoke on the ride there, quiet in his full-body cloak hiding his whole figure.

[Might wanna add a 'Week 8' stamp on the top of that first post.^]
The sound of roaring engines from their hover function is muffled by the cliff face, sure, but they remain a large distraction to speech. However, that does not seem to be a problem when in close proximity to others. As is Spencer when he steps out with the crowd.
Standing tall and proud, he turns his head and then looks down a little. As an answer, he talks while pointing around at the people he speaks of. "See how there are those tha' loiter aroun' the ship an' then those that immediately start walkin'? Follow the ones tha' ain't up front, nor in back, but the ones in the middle. Maybe a little ahead of half o' the group here. 'Cause neithe' the ones in fron' 'r the ones in back are likely t' know where they're goin'. The fron' ones likely are eager to explore the campus an' fin' their way on their own. The ones in back either are waitin' to follow the crowd 'r are takin' too long an' may end up bein' lef' behin'. The ones movin', but a li'l slower, are likely the ones tha' know where their goin' an' ain' in no hurry t' ge' there, as they know they will." The taller boy then lets off a small smirk and carries on, following the specific, yet vague, group of people he was mentioning.

Conan held onto his hat and took a moment to savor the realities of his situation.

He had made it to Beacon. The taste of the air, the sweet sounds of the crowd, they all were real, and he drank them in deeply. He'd finally made it.

But this wasn't the end. Far from it. Here was where his real work began. He was well on his way to being a Huntsman, true, but the road was long and hard. He knew that. He knew that and he would not be deterred.

He released a deep breath and, at a distance, followed the group of newcomers.

"Meh, why not?" Ryth thought out loud again as he started following the new boy while still looking for a beacon student to show him around. "So what's your name?"

Spencer continues to walk, allowing the fellow arrival to follow him, and looks back at him.
"Spencer, of the Rouge family." He then pinches the collar of his jacket with a small tug. He has been curious as to how many would recognize his last name as many did in his previous school because his family actually lives in it's area. Now he would be going to a school with students from all around Vale. Some maybe from other places. "And your's, man?"

"Sorry, what? I am just not entirely focused on this conversation but from how long the sentence was you asked me what my name is Spencer. I'm Ryth." slightly turning his head away, Ryth hopes he won't need to give Spencer his last name

...That was a rough way of wording the sentence... Spencer shrugs.
"A'ight, Ryth." Spencer looks forward. strange name, too. He then looks back at the boy that just radiated awkward. "So, whatchyour style? O' fightin', I mean."

Ryth relaxed at the fact that Spencer was not pushing to find what his last name was but then looked away again. "Dangit." Ryth spent a few seconds like this before looking back ahead. "Sorry again. cloak got a little fuzzy, but as for my fighting style. I can't really give a short answer for that. Basically I use two dual oversized chakram with handholds running through the centre in a melee style that focuses on evasion and slashing at the opponents weak spots though by using my aura I can start the blades spinning and become serrated for certain effects. my chakram can also combine on my forearm to make a cannon-type thing which can harness my aura for certain uses and strengths which I use for close and mid-range combat. that basically sums up my weapons."

"Tha's fine." Spencer sees no reason to question that as being an excuse.
As the boy goes on, Spencer thinks, I didn't think he'd give me every detail he could think of... To in response to Ryth's long description, Spencer just takes an easy route.
"I have two five-hun'ered magnums..so in short, I shoot things until they die."

"Okay. so you really need an ally if you're facing large groups or a really tough enemy." they walked into the main building as most of the group around them dispersed. "what is your semblance Spencer?" finally turning his head towards the first friendly boy he had met in some time. 'lets see if he has a rare semblance like me.'

"My semblance? It suppresses recoil. I know, simple. But it is quite useful when you take advantage of it." Spencer reaches behind his back inside his coat and pulls out a seemingly unending gun from its holster. "With it, I can actually use two of these at the same time." Spencer slips Candy back into her holster.
"What about your's?" Spencer figures he might as well continue on the conversation as the guy seems to want one.

Conan's ears pricked up underneath the hat he wore at the mention of this Spencer person's family name. If his studies were reliable, that was a long, long line of warriors. So this was the brand of pedigree he could expect at Beacon?

He spent a few moments afterwards simply watching, inspecting. The jacket... was that part of a uniform? He said nothing but kept a close eye on the weapons Spencer brought out, and kept an ear tensed for the explanation of semblance. So there were purely support-type semblances as well, here. Good information for him to have.

He finally approached the two at what seemed to be a lull in the conversation. "Pardon me. You're a scion of the Rouge family?" He maintained something resembling a clinical, disinterested tone, masking carefully his curiosity.

'so his family is popular. well, I won't be talking to him much after this and he looks like he thinks that I am forcing this conversation to continue, oh well.' Ryth looked at the newcomer for a fleeting moment when he said rogue. "well. there is no quick way of explaining it so I'll just." exactly after he pronounced the last syllable his cloak disappeared to reveal his small frame with his harness holding his chakram strapped to his back while wearing a plain black shirt with his symbol on the front and dark shorts showing the scars on his arms from bullies and adults. his hair long and unkempt and falling into his eyes "next time I can I am cutting this hair"

Spencer looks back behind him. "A wha'~?" He had never heard the word, even with it applying to him. Before he can say 'I guess so...' Ryth makes himself heard again. Then his cloak disappears. He does not know it yet but, because of this moment, Spencer will forever say Ryth's semblance allows him to strip.
"Whoa!-What was-..?" Spencer is surprised by the display and starts to smile. He loves finding something he does not know about yet. It allows him to try and figure it out himself. Immediately, Spencer studies the kid. Very depressing look to him...Interesting weapons and-... Spencer's curiosity heightens. ...-scars... In an attempt to find out more about the scars, Spencer looks into Ryth's eyes but finds something unique to this boy. Nothing. ...Fascinating...
"Bah~! All it needs is a comb run through it," Spencer reassures. He likes any type of hair but has a small thing for longer styles.

Ryth finally realises why Spencer was so surprised. "whoops, sorry this does not prove my point." Ryth then looks hardly in front of him as a ring appears in front of them. 'Dangit, I really need to get better at socialising.' Ryth then makes the ring disappear. "well then now you have seen what I can do, You have someone else who you can actually become friends with... Oh crap!" Ryth is surrounded by his cloak again as he starts edging away to where the sounds of Grimm are coming from

"But I-" Spencer slows to a stop as Ryth starts edging away. "...Ehm...Okay?" Strange fella. I hope he gets to the hall alright. I'd like to know more of him... Spencer then continues to walk with the crowd and the other boy that asked if his was a scion of the Rouge family. "Sorry, you asked something?"

"huh? sorry thought you wanted me to leave and you realised who I am, sorry" Ryth announced as he walked back after hearing Spencer exclaim. "usually when something like that happens I need to run or fight."

Spencer, once again encounters the short guy.
"Huh? No, I~...don' recognize you. You well known?" I swear, if I didn't recognize one of my family's friends... Being from a large and prosperous family, it is only common courtesy for members of the family to recognize others if their family has strong ties of friendship with them. It is kind of like a game of royalty except less formal. It is common courtesy for family friends to recognize each other but, when you have a large family, it gets a little more difficult.
But, if I knew who 'e was, why would I run from him or fight 'im? Then a possibility hits Spencer. "You ain' a Davi'son, are ya?"

"no, It's just that my grandfather had so many rumours about him that my family is still discriminated today." Ryth then visibly tensed up. 'Stupid. Stupid. Stupid!'

Conan was about to think up an excuse for his interest, but soon found he didn't need to; the other boy was doing a wonderful job of drawing attention. A few bits about his family gave him pause, though. What was he getting himself into with this school...

"No, never mind," he muttered in response to Spencer's earlier question. "Do you two have some things to work out?" One of them seemed to be at noticeable discomfort.

"Nah, we're fine." I think? This Ryth guy seems a bit distressed... Spencer addresses Ryth. "Er~m...I still don' know whose family y' are..." He is still confused on why he should know Ryth.

"...Let's drop it," Conan suggested finally, noting the tenseness in the other boy. He supposed he could sympathize, to some degree, with the lack of trust regarding his origins, and especially facing discrimination. What was more, there was little point in starting fights on their first day.

"I just wanted to know what kinds of people I could expect to meet at Beacon," he said flatly, finally giving something resembling an answer to the question Spencer had posed earlier.

Ryth looks at the quiet boy and notes the sympathy in his look. "well to answer your question I'd say there are three groups of students. the rich kids, the ones who could pay to get into a school and be strong enough to get an invitation to beacon and those who have enough will to defend remnant from the Grimm no matter what. though, I guess you have to learn about what you are getting into if you want to have a relationship with me." the hood of Ryth's cloak fades. "in the middle of the war against the Faunus, my grandfather was serving as a corpral when the Faunus was about to cause the worst defeat in the whole war. my grandfather was fairly clumsy and the other corprals liked to trip him for fun and the last time they tripped him, he fell head first on a rock and was knocked unconscious. the Faunus attacked then and as you should know, it was a bloodbath but they left my father because of his aura which made his head look pale as it stopped him from having permanent brain damage. when he woke up and returned to an outpost. he was accused of treachery but it was never proven. though the rumours were out and he was de-commissioned and my family has been treated like traitors ever since. it also doesn't help that the white fang used my grandfather as a scapegoat for a failed mission and now I am a white fang supportr in the eyes of the public as well."

Once again, Conan's ear twitched involuntarily beneath his hat. He was glad, again, to have it. It had long been indispensable to him, and now was no different. It was in his best interest, here above all, not to take it off. With a story like that, it seemed evident that a Faunus would not be well-received, let alone someone whose father had been tied to the Fang...

Still, he listened silently to the story and neither his face nor his body language betrayed any of those thoughts. He'd gotten very good at that before he'd come to Beacon, and it certainly appeared that the skill would prove useful here. When Ryth finished, Conan nodded solemnly but said nothing.

Mike was wandering again. He had nothing to do, so he decided to go out and see who these newcomers were. He skipped up next to the two talking, abruptly shouting hello, giving his name, and sticking his hand out to shake. Standard procedure for Mike. Possibly not for his will-be teammates.
