| CHARACTERName: Mao Visorith Age: 15 (June 11th) Gender: Male Symbol: Black shield with a maroon outline; white fist outlined dark grey in the center of the shield. Theme Song(s): Theme / Battle ThemeOccupation: Student of Beacon Appearance: 5'5"(165cm) and approximately 130lbs(59kg). Has moderately brown hair with bangs that reach the top of his purple eyes and light tan skin. Casually, Mao wears a dark grey, fleece, turtleneck jacket, a white polo with .5"(1.25cm) stripes, urban khaki pants, and black sneakers. For battle, Mao will sport a forest green fleece hoodie, navy blue t-shirt, cargo khaki pants (for supplies), and black hunting shoes. The navy blue shirt has the symbol embroidered above the heart and it is the only piece of clothing that has the symbol on it. - Mao:
Personality: Mao is generally laid back and observant of his surroundings, though he can be social, outgoing, and involved if a situation calls for it. He strives to become something greater than he presently is, and always is quick to blame himself for mishaps. Mao also enjoys learning and exploring new things, and is, in general, a person who is led by his curiosity. He is loyal, is obedient, and is determined to finish whatever he starts. As a side note, Mao's time spent in the city alone has left him to be at times quite...impressionable. History: Born in a remote village, Mao was raised by the leader of the guardsmen (his father) who believed that the true way to fend off Grimm were with his fists. Of course, there was no way he could take them only bare. He instead had a simple pair of gauntlets. The only reason he could do this was due to his unmatched strength, skill, and probably a bit of aura (though Mao wouldn't actually know this). At the age of 10, Mao began training under his father in the name of the gauntlet-bearing style, and for a year all went well, maybe better than expected. One day shortly after Mao's 11th birthday, his father never returned on an expedition to locate someone who had gone missing. With the village's security compromised, a plan was made so that the void Mao's father left could be filled. His mother, now "temporary' captain of the guard, arranged for Mao to continue his training at signal, and, with that, he was sent off to train in the city. Having spent two months alone in the city, an environment completely new to him, before finally attending Signal, it is unknown as to how the city has affected his him. He spent four years at Signal while using his breaks in school to explore the city. Now Mao has graduated and now looking towards more training at Beacon. - Additional, RP'd History:
Mao, not to long after arriving in Vale, was taken under of the wing of Johnny who was of the Gat.
- Family:
Strengths:
- Strong, agile, sharp reflexes
- Can read situations well socially and tactically
- Generally enjoys helping others
- Adept at hunting (stealth movement, tracking, locating vitals)
Weaknesses:
- Limited aura knowledge and control but is learning; currently no defensive abilities
- No long-range abilities (); mid-range slightly above average at best without aura use
- Nearly impossible/very difficult to make use of wired blades in tight quarters, wooded areas, etc.
- Doesn't sync too well with strangers
- Impressionable at times
- Sometimes impulsive
Semblance: Soon WEAPON 1Name: (Left, Right) Vithu, Serei; Together known as Amara. Primary Form: Gauntlets with retractable 12"(30.5cm) blades mounted on top of them. The blades are connected to the gauntlets by a steel wire. Using his aura, Mao can:
- Loosen: Allows the wire to move freely
- Lock: Locks wire at whatever length
- Retract: Reels in wire
- Detach: Detaches wire
- Fire: Fires blade with spring mechanism
by moving a switch located inside the gauntlets with his aura. When unsheathed, the blades gain 3"(7.5cm) that was before hidden in the mount. The wire maxes out at 20"(610cm), but at that point it become more of a nuisance without using his aura to aid it. At max length, it is mainly used for grappling or entangling. Mao can use his aura to spin himself quickly with a platform (like Weiss) which creates a whirlwind of death (hopefully). Because he is a novice in aura use, however, the charge time is greatly affected by speed and duration that he wants. The spin can also be interrupted by anything passing between Mao and the blades. Secondary Form/Function: Aside from housing dusts for weaving patterns, Amara also houses blue dust allow his gauntlets to become electrified. This is toggled by a separate switch within the gauntlets and defaults to off when no aura is directed towards it. The electricity also travels down the wires and into the blades. Because of this, gloves are now insulated protecting the user from shock. History: The gauntlets were made for Mao upon turning 10 in order to carry on his father's tradition. Because Mao is nowhere near as strong as his father was, he was forced to mount blades onto his gauntlets to increase their killing potential after his father had died. Upon attending Signal, his gauntlets were improved upon by his instructors in order to give them at least some ranged potential, and this was also partially influenced by his mother's own weaponry. Inspired by Kirkka, Mao again modified his gloves for dust utilization. WEAPON 2Name: Vireak Primary Form: A back-up dagger with an 8"(~20cm) blade with the blade being able to retract into the hilt. Always kept concealed. Secondary Form/Function: None. History: Bought from a random blacksmith then upgraded slightly in Beacon's forging area.

| Ok, initial overview of the Update from me, first time being all official and all.
All seems sound - apart from the Semblance. Thinking it might be better to leave that out until it gets to the stage where the update happens. As it stands there's not even a description of what it does so it seems a bit vestigal.

| Going to ask you to rework the Semblance Mao. As it stands it is far too powerful with its potential, as well as forcing in stats that aren't even live or functional yet within the system (the whole black-white thing). It also seems a bit too binary and forces a straight paper-scissors-wrong, rather than creativity which is what RP should be focused on.
I'd say to tone it back. A lot. Simplify it. Some concerns are present over the elements of dexterity it possesses as well as the ranged element.
