Camp Diamond Pond (Week 15: closed)

Jack soon sent the word out of the camping trip. He then packed up his last bit of things before heading out.

[Time Skip]

The bus with the students would be arriving shortly and it looked as if Jack had everything set up, cameras, traps and beer stocked in the fridge. He had a few switches next to him if things got slow. Each was labeled something different. The nearest one was labeled 'Power outage', and jack just leaned back and popped open a can of sweet tea. He watched the screens and saw the bus had arrived. "This shall be fun." He said before laughing a bit.

"GET OFF MY DAMN BUS!" Yelled the red face bus driver. He was tired and wanted sleep. My week off......I hate this school.

Adelaide chuckled slightly with an awkward look on her face as she stepped out of the bus, the driver looked like he had been ready to literally explode the entire ride.
It was a relief for her to get some fresh air in her lungs, the smell of the pine reminded her of her family and her home town up in the mountains.
Adelaide briefly reminisced about the mountainous wilderness that she used to live in before walking up to a small trail as she watched the others get off of the bus in a hurried manner; she stretched her back and began to walk towards the campsite whilst looking forward to whatever fate the trip would hold for her.

Dusk steps off the bus and takes in a deep breath. So that's what the smell of forest is. I don't think I've ever been this far from a city. Exciting! He had packed only a couple changes of clothes and a sleeping bag, expecting there to be other commodities at the campsite. "Well, time for adventure and fun!" he said with a grin.

Gwyn quickly scurried off the bus, her face red as she tried her best to get away from the bus driver. "I-I'm sorry!" she exclaimed as she quickly walked away from the bus. On her back was a large backpack with all the usual necessities like a week's worth of clothes and pajamas, common things for personal hygiene and whatnot, all that good stuff. Oh, and her fluffy pink pillow and light purplish sleeping bag were in the very large backpack as well. It was all stuffed in there.

As Gwyn hurried away from the bus, she attempted to look over her shoulder to apologize once more, but instead tripped over a rock with an "Eep!" and landed face first on the dirt pathway. It hurt, to say the least, and when she got up her face was luckily fine, aside from the glasses that she had lost. Fortunately she didn't need them to see.

"Ow..." she mumbled to herself as she rubbed her hurting face. She was so clumsy, and she didn't understand why either. All she could do was pick up her glasses and dust off her shirt as she stood up, now heavily embarrassed by her actions as she walked towards the camp.

Dusk notices the girl falling and is unable to stop her from hitting the ground. However, he still quickly jogs over to her as she gets up. "Hey there, friend. You alright?" he asks amiably.

Gwyn gasped sharply when she was spoken to, and her head snapped around to look at the man before back around to look away. "I-I'm fine, n-nothing to see here! Hehe..." she said, rubbing the back of her head with a sheepish smile and doing her best to walk away. If one looked at her face, they would see that she was incredibly nervous and almost... afraid, to be around this man? She did her best to hide it, but all she did to try and do so was look away and try to walk faster than he did.

Arriving to their destination, Matt glanced out the window at the wooded area, seeing no real signs of any camp just yet as the dusty trail came to an end. The hiss of brakes, squeal of the door opening, and the drivers noticeably red face as he ordered them off being a clear sign that their temporary home away from home was nearby. Grabbing his stuff, he'd sling the old, large brown colored backpack over his shoulder, his other hand grabbing a coiled up blue sleeping bag with a black pillow rolled inside of it. The contents of his pack would rustle around inside as he made his way down the bus aisle, containing about a weeks worth of clothing and various necessities and toiletries for the camping trip.

As he'd attempt to give a thanks to the driver, Gwyn's tumble on the ground would distract him a moment before turning and muttering a quick "Thanks." to the irate bus driver, a little hustle in his step as the three ahead of him had began making their way toward the camp, Gywn having dusting herself off and already moved away. His steps would crunch against the ground as he caught up with the rabbit Faunus and Dusk.

Not wanting to crowd her, he'd hover at a little distance to her side, double-checking the chef as he'd chime in, "I give that landing a... six-point-five. Not quite your greatest..." A joking grin crossed his face afterward, soon softening up to a little concern as he'd follow up by checking behind her for any dropped objects, asking "Hurt or break anything?"

Having been one of the last to depart from the bus, the ashen-haired teen took a glance toward his surroundings a tad later than the others. Clad lightly within his normal dorm clothing --- a simple tank top with a pair of cargo shorts and sandals --- he stepped forward with his bag slung over the left shoulder. Within it were the necessary things he'd need for the stay out in nature; changes of clothes, extra snacks if they were needed, a couple of decks of cards for a few games...and somewhere deeper inside was even a small, makeshift emergency kit that he brought up in case something were to happen. Due to the several past experiences he had with camping --- odd as they had been, but he loved them anyways --- he concluded before arrival that it was best to be safe than sorry.

Of course, alongside his bag of 'goodies,' there would remain two other things that almost always never left his side; his grand old weapon, Silver Sanctum, which was slung by the chain over his other shoulder, and a line of both lighters and matches, stashed within each suspender band of his. He thought that he may as well bring them, in case they were needed for some random Grimm encounter, or other threatening matters; other than that, however, they may come in handy for other matters.

After scanning the forest scenery that he was oh-so-familiar with, the crossbreed finally took a moment to gaze over at those that he would be spending the next days with. Immediately he would catch sight of a certain trio; two males and a single lass. Through the lens of his glasses narrowed voids would gaze, and with some hesitance the swordsman would near a mere yard or two toward the scene. Nicked, Faunus auds of his would flicker ever so faintly as he picked up bits and traces of the conversation afar. The human ones would just remain covered over by his headphones, which allowed music to enter through them. (But he was still able to hear, thanks to the freedom of his bestial auds.) "You guys needing any help?" he called, ceasing his stride when his definition of an 'appropriate' distance away was reached. His voice was rather low; monotone...as it always was, really, before he warmed up to anyone at least.

Alena walks off the bus last, avoiding the bus driver's gaze as she mutters a thank you. She had been asleep, so everyone else was able to leave while she got all of her stuff together. She had brought a sleeping bag with enough clothes for a week of camping. Just in case. The only other thing she packed was a toiletry bag. She sees the group that had formed in front of the bus and walks up to them, a big smile on her face. "Hey guys. Are you excited for this trip?"

Dusk shrugs, thinking, Nervous person, doesn't want to be the center of attention. Well, it seems people will start crowding her. This last thought coming when the other three people start crowding in. Time for some fun. Gah! Stupid pun.

Dusk clicks his tongue, slowing down others' perception of the time. He clicks again once he is next to Matt with his arm around his shoulders saying, "Nope nothing broken." He clicks again, slowing them again. He brings them back to regular time with another click once he is in front of Haven, opening his own bag making sure he had brought everything, saying, "No help needed here, we should move along." He clicked a third time, before clicking again leaning his back against Alena's back and closing his bag saying, "A whole lot of excitement!"

He clicks finally one last time before appearing a couple meters down the path. "Now you guys gonna hurry up? The girl at the front is way ahead of us!" Dusk chuckles as he turns and starts to jog down the path. If the other campers had watches and checked them now, a few minutes had seem to pass on them in what felt like twenty seconds. Fun, fun, fun.

With the last student off the bus rockets off leaving a trail of dust behind it. Jack smiles as he leaves. He then reaches over and flips a switch labeled 'telecommunications (put simply a dead zone maker). He looks to the screen and waits for them to get settled in a large cabin. Inside there is a note sitting on the table.

Thank you for choosing 'Camp Diamond Pond'! We hope you enjoy your stay. A quick warning the power is a bit odd acting lately. If it goes out the breakers are in the basement. Thanks again!

The name seemed to be smuched a bit, but the hose seemed relitivly well furbished.

Gwyn frowned when she noticed something was off, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. It lasted for around half a minute, or what she thought was almost half a minute, but eventually went away. Upon looking at the watch that was on her hand, she noted that a few minutes had passed when she had barely been off the bus for one minute. Something was up.

"Oh my..." she mumbled with a worried look. She wouldn't pay it much mind yet. For now, it would be best to get to the cabin, which is what she did. Upon reaching the inside of the cabin, she set her things on the floor not too far from the door and proceeded to wait for everyone else to get there, despite her strong urge to just run and hide.

Dusk walks into the cabin and sets his bag in a chair. He notices the note on the table and picks it up to read. Hmm, power or no power, this is camping. We shouldn't be worried. He waits for everyone to walk in before saying out loud, "Looks like the power could go out here. We can turn it back on using the breaker in the basement. Sadly, I can't read who our host is because the name is a bit smudged. Oh well!" Dusk was still in a cheery mood, he hasn't had one thing truly bother him yet.

Adelaide sat on an old rocking chair in the corner of the cabins main room as the rabbit faunus named Gywnevere stepped inside, she proceeded to stand up and walk towards where the faunus was, now standing behind her Adelaide spoke to the timid girl. "Hey there, need help unpacking? I got here a little while ago so, already done".
While Adelaide would never admit it, the real reason she snuck up on Gwynevere was truthfully to get a better view of her "assets".

Alena enters the cabin, still smiling. She sets her bag down next to Gwyn's and listens to Dusk read the note. Eh, it's only the basement. Shouldn't be too hard to turn back on if it does go out. She looks around the room, getting a good look at their lodgings. Whoever our host is, they sure are nice for letting us stay here! Should we get set up now?"

Matt felt slightly odd for a moment, as if lost in a complete daze of events as he looked in the direction that the clicking came from before Dusk had soon shouted for them to hurry up down the trail. He'd react to say something, a hand coming up as if he were to introduce himself to a stranger before his voice was caught up, getting out a short, confused "Uh-!" before blinking in the realization that the others voice was now far ahead of them.

Turning back toward the front, he'd double check over his shoulder again in confusion, the contents of his backpack giving a little rattle as he peered back at Haven, then Alena. Something had been amiss for a second there... maybe he had zoned out. An brief, eerie feeling came over him as the rest of them had begun to continue down the path, Matt reaching to his backpack straps to adjust his stuff before silently following behind in the moment of confusion.

As the cabin came into view, Matt hung around the outside to take in the sights a moment, having not been this far away from civilization yet this semester. The area seemed completely cut off from things like traffic, even the sky as the tall, green branches would occasionally sway around. The sounds of rustling leaves were very calming, taking a moment to close his eyes and get a deep breath as various birds chirped around. The voices of the people inside the cabin had also trailed out, opening his eyes and casually strolling inside as he looked about the interior.

With Dusk and Alena talking about the power for a moment, Matt would look over to the table where Dusk had presumably grabbed the note from, setting his backpack next to a chair as he took a seat. It sure was the explanation of cozy, to say the least. Power wouldn't really be much of an issue to him, as he was more interested in having a moment to disconnect from studies and the bustle of life on campus. As the tall female asked if they should get set up, Matt would nod with her suggestion. Adding on, the freshman noted, "That sounds like a good idea. Better now then when it gets darker out, in case it happens when we are shuffling around."

He'd lean back in his chair a bit, relaxing one elbow off the back as he stretched his legs out forward.

Gwyn jumped a little bit upon hearing Adelaide speak to her. "O-Oh... N-No, thank y-you." she said, pressing her arms against her body as she turned away from the cat girl. She acknowledged it was rude, but she didn't like the way the girl was staring at her. It made her feel incredibly uncomfortable. The more that people entered the building, the more she backed into the corner until her back was to the wall. Despite not having anywhere to back up to now that her back was against the wall, she could be seen pressing herself to the wall and shrinking up as much as she could to attract as little attention as possible. She'd wait for everyone else to get done with what they were doing and then she could do things herself.

"Ah you okay there, you seem a bit, how do i word it." Adelaide said before seemingly being lost in deep thought, she was attempting to word "Incredibly socially awkward" in a kind way; she eventually settles on- "Skittish! That's the word i was looking for!" She said in a cheery voice to the rabbit girl.
"Anyway, what's your name? I'm Adelaide but most people just call me Adel" Adelaide offered Gwyn a handshake.

Gwyn didn't take Adel's hand. She didn't even look down at it. Her eyes were drawn to the cat features on the girl for a moment before she stared back at her. "I-I'm Gwynevere... b-but everyone just c-calls me Gwyn." she said, getting down to almost whisper levels of quiet at the last part. She really didn't want to be here right now. 'I have made a grave mistake.' she said, averting her eyes and shrinking down even more, her mouth scrunching up as her face turned a little pink. Her ears drooped a bit in fear, and she pressed her arms to her chest even more.

Adelaide looked slightly awkward as Gwynevere put her hands on her already generous bosom tightly, creating for the girl a battle of mind over body as she attempted her hardest to maintain eye contact with the bunny girl.
"Wow i don't think i've ever heard that name before, it's very pretty." She said with a smile trying to ignore the fact that Gwyn had turned down her handshake. "Anyway, it's going to be a fun trip eh?"

Alena looks over to where Gwyn and Adel are facing off in the corner, noting how uncomfortable Gwyn looks. She frowns. That's not right. We're supposed to be having fun here! She continues to unpack her bag as she calls over to them. "Hey, are you two alright over there? Remember, we're here to have fun and relax!"

Haven had followed his other companions from the back of the group with some silence, scanning their actions and listening to their words and how they said them. Of course; he was observing the behavior of the others, which was a normal thing that he did when he first met an individual, or a group of people he hadn't met at all. This little thing of his would continue until they reached the cabins, and even after they had discovered the little notice addressed to them. If he were to be completely honest, he didn't even mind the alarming aura sent off after reading it; instead, it just sparked a sense of curiosity and amusement for what was to come within this trip.

While the others seemed to continue their earlier conversations, the crossbreed simply strayed away from the little 'clique' that they had created, instead making his way over to a nearby couch. He tossed his bag onto a free spot and set his weapon on top of it before finally positioning himself on the cushions. Quickly shifting into a more comfortable position, he raised his legs and rested them over his bag afar as if it were a footrest, intertwining his arms and hands behind his head and resting it on them as well. Having heard the various conversation topics and words being spoken along the way, the lad simply laughed quietly to himself, allowing a grin to spread across his lips. With his eyes sealed by then, he shot a hand up into the air, waving it around. "Fun is one Hell of a must; especially when we're out in nature like this." Pausing, he raised both arms and stretched them before returning to the position he had been in prior. "At first, things like this may seem a bit iffy and maybe even a tad unnerving, but you'll get used to it and have a pretty good time in the end." Looking over his shoulder, he finally brought himself to gaze toward his other roommates. "Aha, I guarantee it."

Observing the situation in the corner of the room, Matt would frown a bit as the rabbit Faunus looked trapped in the corner with the other female. The fact she continued to press into a corner had made it a little more worrisome for him as the chef looked trapped at this point, and wanting to be left alone. As Haven and Alena mentioned having fun, he'd find himself nodding before reaching for his brown backpack.

Calling over to the corner, Matt would ask, "Hey, you mentioned you had already unpacked... right?" He'd look over to the two before standing up with a little stretch, lifting the old brown pack with one hand by the straps. Using his foot, he'd bump his sleeping bag out from beneath the table, letting it roll forward a bit as he'd as "Did you find any rooms in here? Or is there a space we can roll out our sleeping bags?"

He was genuinely curious, offering a neutral smile to his intentions afterward-- hopefully it would be a good enough question to ease the growing discomfort in that corner of the room.

"Oh yeah; hmm, there were four bedrooms i saw, they were really well furnished." Adelaide said in a happy sort of tone, feeling good to get out of the awkwardness with the rabbit girl who seemed uncomfortable just giving out her name, but that may have partly been the slight ogling that Adelaide had been doing, swinging both-ways and all she couldn't help but find Gwyn attractive.

"Anyway, we'll have to decide who gets which room" She said sounding slightly more serious, though the only thing she could think about was the possibility of going outside and sleeping in a tree, and not a flimsy thing you grow in your yard, but a real massive old oak or redwood, like she had done as a little girl.
