Fighting in the Forever Frosted Forest Empty
PostSubject: Fighting in the Forever Frosted Forest   Fighting in the Forever Frosted Forest Icon_minitimeThu Sep 19, 2013 3:10 am

Why is there always snow here even in the middle of summer?

Hunter sped through the frozen forest. He's graduated only two weeks ago from Flare Hall and is still three months from starting at Beacon to become a Hunter, yet he's already had his first Huntsman's job: help protect the convoy of 2 trucks carrying Schnee Dust crystals to the Red Forest and 3 charter buses on the way to Vale. Once the trucks reached the Red Forest, he was to get paid and go free to do whatever he wanted.
OOC:
"This is pretty big for an 18 year old fresh out of high school." The convoy leader said when they started two days ago. "Are you sure you want to do this? We've been attacked by bandits, beowolves, ursas..." Hunter cut him off, saying, "Hey, I'm one of the top of my class. Besides, I'm going to the Red Forest anyway. Might as well make some cash on the way."
Now, here he was, the morning sun and snow streaking on his glasses as he drove his bike, the Drifting Ronin, following the convoy with his sword Metaruhōku attached to his back by a thin Dust crystal embedded into his jacket. It's amazing how easily he can go about with something big like Metaruhōku on his back, much less how it seems like it's hanging on him without a harness around it.

The radio suddenly squawked. "Hunter! Report in, over." Instantly several different voices replied at the same time. Why did the top profession for the past 15 years have to be the same thing his parents named him before it was popular?
"No no no, I meant Hunter Thợ Săn! It's been 30 minutes. Report in if anything's happened in the rear, over."
"You know boss, if you gave us code numbers, this wouldn't happen every half hour. Can I be Guard number-"
"Just report in, over!" His employer seriously needs to relax. Hunter chuckled.
"Just wind and snow out here, boss. Nothing to report."
"'Nothing to report', what?" Seriously? Not the stupid "over" thing... He sighed. "Nothing to report. Over and out."
"Are you sure? You're not just looking left and right, are you? Check your mirrors. Over."

This guy's paranoid. Hunter thought. Oh well. Might as well. He took a peek. Right side, white as snow. Left side, also white as- Wait, what's that? Hunter turned his head. Oh, scrap...

"Uh... Boss? Hunter here. You might want to tell everyone to start speeding. Like, right now."
"Over."

It was cold. Very. Cold. Alex was told to dress warm, but he wasn't prepared for the permafrost that was the Frozen Forest. He pulled his hood over his head and sighed.

Alex stood on the top of truck [5], keeping a lookout for any disturbances. He couldn't figure out why the Schnee Dust company would hire an infiltrator like him to help protect a convoy. He had already seen the hunters that were recruited for the job, so he didn't understand why he was needed.

Standard radio chatter filled his left ear. "Hunter! Report in, over." Alex couldn't understand why the guard captain calls everyone by their first names, instead of giving everyone code names for missions. Instead of Hunter Thợ Săn replying, Alex could hear all the mercs report in at once, which was quickly corrected by the leader.

The conversation continued, but Alex felt that something was off. Just then, he heard, "Uh... Boss? Hunter here. You might want to tell everyone to start speeding. Like, right now." He quickly took action and banged on the top of the truck cab, trying to get the attention of the drivers. One of them peered out and shouted "Wattaya doin'?!" Alex yelled back with urgency, "GO FASTER!"

Somewhat recently free from Signal, Mao sat atop the vehicle in front of the convoy staring ahead blankly. This actually kinda sucks, he thought as he looked down at his attire which wasn't too well equipped for this job. "All you have to do is guard a convoy," they had said. Mao sighed. The things I do for adventure...and money. At least the scenery was beautiful.

A boom of chatter filled his ear as the rest of his group talked at once over the name hunter and how everyone should just get code names. Mao mostly ignored it, though, and decided to focus on his gauntlets instead. He had once heard people say that if you liked a light pole during the winter, your tongue would get stuck. Mao stuck his tongue out and hesitated for a moment. Probably should wait until this is over, he thought as he withdrew his tongue from the icy not-so-winter winter air.

Suddenly, the "suggestion" to speed popped into his hear, and one of the hunters was shouting for truck [5] go faster. Mao stood up, looked at the back of the bus, and swore as he began warming up his fingers.

(OOC: Clarification on front of convoy please)

Being instructed by his adoptive father to take the job for his "experience", Lucius couldn't say no. Holding on to his cloak as if it were a blanket, he quietly surveyed the area while sitting on the top of Bus [3] ((OCC: Or is it Bus [2] whichever is not yet taken)). He regretted not wearing thicker clothes, though the cloak still provided some form of warmth from the cold.

Listening to the conversation between the employer and a fellow guard called "Hunter", he slightly smiled as the two debated about names. Though that seemingly peaceful atmosphere continued on for a few minutes, he then heard an ominous report from Hunter.

"Uh... Boss? Hunter here. You might want to tell everyone to start speeding. Like, right now."

He then saw Truck [5] speed up, and heard his employer telling everyone to "Speed up!" in a panicky manner. He sat perfectly still during that time but he immediately equipped his two shields, Xavier and Valerie. He wished that this would've been a peaceful convoy mission but it seems that it was just him being too optimistic.

Samuel sat in the front of the dust truck[4] silently. "Not the most glorious work, but the pay is good." He said quietly to himself, "Sit back, relax until the job is done."
At that moment, the radios burst into panic. Something was coming, and it was coming fast.

"So much for an easy run." Samuel said, pulling his mask over his face and his hood over his head.

"You guys sound worried. What's going on back there?"

((You were looking for a non-Grimm antagonist?))

The flares had worked. It was amazing what tricks you could pull with precision-crafted, high-luminosity Dust flares, especially if you worked a bit of not-totally-legal Black into the mix. If he didn't have a mission on his mind, Alton would've been interested in observing the effects a 5PPM Black Dust ingredient had had on his flares - rather than bright, vibrant displays, half of the southern horizon was now obscured by menacing, oily smoke which, thanks to consecutively-firing launchers, appeared to be advancing on the convoy below at a rapid pace.

"Looks like these guys are afraid of the dark." Alton thought as he noticed the lead car suddenly accelerate, the driver looking frantic. Through his spyglass, he could make out three definite guards: heavily armed, custom weapons, probably mercs hired straight out of Signal or maybe Beacon. Kids. Like him.

Too bad. Schnee Dust was messing with its composition formulas, and something they'd been putting in to the recent batches was grounding his father's airship fleet with engine failure. Alton was no bandit, but after being "escorted" from SDC Headquarters with a "Dust Safety" pamphlet and "friendly advice" to drop the issue he saw little choice but to get his hands on a Dust shipment too see what they were up to for himself.

Disable the trucks, disable the guards, get samples of the dust components. In and out, no names, no hard evidence.

With the lead truck 30 seconds away, Alton rechecked his roadblock. Tire spikes under the snow. White-painted tow lines stretched between the trees in a spiderweb net; enough to stop a charging Ursa by comparison. All Alton had to do was stop that lead truck and the others would be sitting ducks.

With the lead truck 10 seconds away, Alton activated the final trap: bright-white flares, launched to  six feet - just high enough to blind the front driver. With a crackle, the flares popped out of the snow, and Alton ducked behind a rock as the shadows around him temporarily disappeared.

OOC: YES! PvP BATTLES OUTSIDE OF BEACON. Although I have to admit, I was hoping for JL's pirates. Well, beggars can't be choosers. Who knows? Maybe they're here with you, maybe not. Time will tell.

Also, @ Larrus_Cole both Bus 2 and 3 are open. My guy is on his own personal vehicle.

IC:

"Sir, I can't really tell for sure! I thought it was a huge flock of Nevermore, but it's too dense!" Hunter sped up, trying to pass vehicle [5]. "Maybe someone is using Dust to make a huge storm! I'm not sure, but we gotta move! Over!"

He started passing the truck's cabin when he saw its guard arguing with the driver. Alex, right? Before the convoy started, all the hired guards and drivers were briefed on the trip's dangers, followed by everyone being forced to get familiar with one another for the three day trip. Hunter found Alex to be one of the silent and deadly types, and although he didn't really get a good look at Alex's weapons, Hunter knew he was packing enough heat to hold off a number of people.

"Alex! If someone attacks the truck, make sure nothing gets out of the back. NOTHING." Hunter yelled, keeping parallel to the truck. "If anything falls out, it's gonna be your responsibility to get it bac-" BOOM.

What now? Hunter looked at the front of the convoy. Flares? "Oh, GOD." He realized what was happening. "BOSS! AMBUSH, AMBUSH!" He yelled into the radio, watching helplessly as the bus filled with civilians flipped over an invisible barrier. (OOC it hit the tow cables and flipped "The Dark Knight" style.)

(OOC: Tire spikes but I'll go with it Razz)

As Mao looked towards the rear of the convoy, his squinted eyes grew a little wider as he grew aware of the giant cloud of smoke quickly approaching them. The atmosphere surrounding the convoy lit up as the cloud of smoke moved closer towards us; it was a stark contrast to how the trip has originally been going. What in the world could that possibly-

Suddenly, a burst of light appeared from behind him. Mao turned around only to discover flares had been launched ahead of the convoy. He shielded his eyes from the bright lights. What the hell is-. In the next few moments, the vehicle Mao had been standing on came to a sudden stop and flipped forward. The only thing that popped into his mind at this point was "God damnit...".

As he was getting launched into the air, Mao unsheathed the blade of his left gauntlet, Vithu, and fired at a tree hoping to recover from his predicament. To his dismay, the blade missed by a rather disappointing margin. In his mind, Mao sighed frustratingly as he reeled back his blade and maneuvered for landing.

A jolt rippled throughout Mao's body as his his left knee, right foot, and right hand contacted the asphalt and slid across the snow-covered road. It was not as bad as he had imagined, but to say it was didn't hurt would be a lie. He stood up, left leg slightly bent, and took his hood off his head so he could see a little better. Mao stared at the now-flipped bus. The passengers that were once panicking were now quiet. Whether it was due shock, injury, or something far worse, he didn't know. He closed his eyes and took large breathe. As he began to relax, he exhaled slowly and opened his eyes again. "I guess this is what happens when you space off, huh...", Mao whispered to himself as the blade of his right gauntlet, Serei, emerged to greet the air of this cold summer day.

((OOC: Tire spikes and tow lines :3. As a side note, though, these flares are brighter than the sun, to the point that they cast shadows in broad daylight. Play it as you will.

EDIT: Also, hit "post" before I meant to. Oops. Fix'd))

"Oh gods, what have I done."

The first bus hit the tow lines and flipped - a combination of top-heavy momentum and the low fulcrum threw it into a front roll, landing flat on its roof with a sickening thud. As the people inside started screaming, Alton realized, with a mixture of horror and rage, that SDC was using civilian transports as shields. Who would attack a civilian convoy? Only monsters... or fools who didn't do their research. Too late to back out now. Let the guards worry about the civilian casualties, let it add more chaos to the mix.

One guard was flung from the top of the bus, over the wires, and onto the road in a heap. The second and third buses screeched to a halt before they collided with a metal crunch; they were blocking the road, but still operational. The rear trucks stopped, sliding a bit on the snow, but were otherwise unfazed; the guards inside and on top of

Alton glanced up and down the convoy. He'd set himself decently far back from the roadblock, but the rear truck had stopped before passing him completely, and only now was Alton able to see a rearguard vehicle with a single driver behind that. Glancing up, the black-dust clouds were still advancing; he'd set charges to cover an area a few hundred feet ahead, just in case the convoy had made it past the roadblock. Sinister black smoke rolled overhead as Alton distantly heard the thump of his flare mortars; in an instant, the cold, clear day had turned to pitch-black freezing night.

One guard had managed to keep his balance on top of the rearguard truck; Alton locked in and sent a pair of bolas flying in his direction - in the dark, the guard would either be disabled or at least dazed by the tangling wires. The other guards will still in their trucks; now that he could see the whole convoy, he realized he was badly outnumbered by some fairly-well equipped opponents. "Oh, Diadem, what fun we're going to have today."

Alton opened fire with both pistols, suppressing both the front and rear cabs with a hail of gunfire.

PostSubject: Re: Fighting in the Forever Frosted Forest   Fighting in the Forever Frosted Forest Icon_minitimeSat Sep 21, 2013 2:06 pm

Seeing the black figures from afar, Lucius wondered if it was some kind of new species of Grimm that had been chasing them because of its unfamiliar shape. With his two shields on hand, he activated his deflective aura and got down on the bus in order to prepare for the upcoming battle.

Suddenly there was a bright flash of light behind him that most likely came from a flare. He then saw Bus [1] flipping forward. As he saw the driver screaming as the bus flipped, he immediately threw Xavier to the bus' windshield. He then expanded his deflective aura that Xavier had sensed and amplified to create a deflective aura of its own which protected the civilians and the driver as the bus landed on its roof. Buses [2] and [3] immediately stopped and crashed after that and Lucius rushed to the front of Bus [1] to see if there was anyone he was not able to protect.

Upon arriving, he saw one of his fellow convoy guards, he thinks his name was Mao, standing up but his left leg was slightly bent as he stood; As much as he wanted to attend to the person he couldn't provide his deflective aura to, he needed to see if he was able to save the civilians inside the bus.

Luckily, only a few civilians were injured on Bus [1] and they were only minor so he asked the driver to escort them outside the bus. He retrieved Xavier from inside the bus and got out. He then went to the check the other buses to see if the crash had caused any serious casualties.

Alex, who was now crouched near the front of truck [5], watched as bus [1] flipped over what he could only assume was a barrier. Instantly, buses [2] and [3] crashed into the flipped bus and the trucks behind screeched to a halt, sliding a bit forward, due to the snow.

He glanced back and saw exactly why they had sped up. It was some sort of large, black, approaching cloud, and it was only getting closer. Alex held his breath and braced for the wind when suddenly, he saw four orbs flying towards him. They were spinning around each other and Alex couldn't quite make out what they exactly were. In any case, anything flying at him at high speeds was bound to be bad, so he immediately hung off the side of the truck, opposite the direction of the flying spheres. They bounced off the top of the truck with two sets of loud thuds, and not soon after, he heard bullets ricocheting off the opposite side of the truck.

OOC: I'm assuming you're fairly far away from the mass of trucks, Alton?

OoC:
I'm picturing Bus 2 and 3 crash in an accordion pattern. Basically, the buses are pushed together parallel to the tow cables and pointing in different directions. The crash has become a roadblock made of vehicles. The two trucks are undamaged. It looks like this:
Fighting in the Forever Frosted Forest Topeka-ks-union-pacific-train-derailment1

Also, since Alton is using .45 caliber dual pistols, he cannot be too far from the battle.
EDIT: HE'S RIGHT NEXT TO THE REAR TRUCK! EDITING TIME!

IC:
One minute. That was all it took to go from a sunny morning to a moonless night. Stopping the Drifting Ronin, Hunter immediately turned on his headlights. Fortunately, the flares were dim enough for him to see without being blinded. Unfortunately, all he could see was the devastation.

"Goddamn. That's quite a mess." Hunter looked around back at the truck with Alex on top. "Help the civvies or protect the trucks? Civvies. Trucks. Civv-" Alex suddenly disappeared over the right side of the truck while something flew overhead. "Slag! ALEX!" Hunter was cut off again by the sound of four shots.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Hunter drove behind truck four and started looking around. Where'd that come from? Taking another scan, Hunter saw that Mao, Bus 1's guard, was now limping, while Lucius was helping the people in the flipped bus. Why attack the rear when you've got guard's in front of you? Quickly dimming highlights, Hunter peered into the darkness, and soon found the tell-tale muzzle flashes.

No time to waste, Hunter thought as he saw Alex hanging on the side.Let's turn this crook into paste. He revved Drifting Ronin twice, and barreled straight for the shooter, Metaruhōku in hand.

Guard front left. Mounted motorcycle. Melee weapons. Probable attack method: mounted attack, followed by hand-to-hand in event of initial failure.

If this rent-a-cop was hoping to splatter or gut Alton, he was going to be sorely disappointed; Alton fairly disliked the concept of being roadkill or being rent in twain. Besides, dying would really throw off his plans. So, as the motorcycle sped towards him, Alton did what he did best - disappeared. Right gauntlet raised, he sent another flare towards the convoy; the bright ball of concentrated flame contrasted starkly against the pitch black sky and snow-covered ground.

Alton used his left gauntlet to launch himself into a nearby tree, up and out of the reach of the oncoming motorcycle. With his right gauntlet, he fired a dual-ended spike line: shoot two targets, make them one, hilarity ensues if either is moving at the time. Alton had always wanted to see what'd happen if he spiked a motorcycle with an unsecured rider; today he'd get the chance.

Despite being prepared to fight, there appeared to be no enemies in his vicinity. If there are no enemies here, then-. Shots rang out from what sounded like the rear end of the convoy. Well, I guess that answers my question. Because there should be a few guards already between the enemy and himself, Mao decided to go check up on the buses before engaging.

The first bus, while flipped, seemed otherwise alright to Mao's surprise. Looking inside, nobody had been injured though they were all panicky probably due to the fact that the bus was flipped. Hearing more gunshots, Mao said, "It seems that the convoy has been ambushed. For your safety, I am going to ask you to remain in the vehicle. I don't want anyone to get hurt in the crossfire. It will also protect you from any Grimm that may show up though I pray not." Mao got up as a another flare lit up the sky. Luckily, the collided buses [2] and [3] obstructed a direct viewing of it. Mao did his best to help anyone that had been injured on both buses and told them what he had told to bus [1].

Having finished checking up on the statuses of the buses, Mao ran to wear the action now was.

Lucius, while tending to the injured inside Bus [3], had heard gun shots being fired from outside. He then saw Mao charging towards the origin of the sound which came from the area where the SDC Trucks where. In this hectic situation where the road has been blocked, they could be surrounded by the Grimm and the lives of the civilians would be put in more danger.

Feeling the obligation to protect the civilians, he left his trust to his teammates that they could handle the problem at the back. He asked the drivers of Bus [2] and [3] if vehicles were still operational, and luckily they were.

The only problem now is to flip over Bus [1] right back to its original state, and hope that it was still operational. After Lucius was done tending to the civilians at Bus [3], he rushes back to where Bus [1] was and he then saw a tow cable and some tire spikes. He threw the tire spikes at the trees beside the road and then kept the tow cable with him for later use. He then proceeded to escort the civilians who were inside the flipped Bus [1] in order to prepare for the flipping process he is about to attempt with the use of his deflective aura.

The smog was blinding. As he pulled himself back on top of truck [5], he could just barely make out the muzzle flashes of the convoy's attacker. Lone attacker. "Wait, that doesn't make any sense." Alex thought. "How could one person do all this? Unless he had ample time to prepare. Which means there's been an information leak in the SDC." Alex shook his head clear of the rushing thoughts.

Just then, he heard silence as the shooting stopped. He could make out a figure flying through the smoke, clearing some of the smoke away, and immediately after, firing a dual-ended spike line at what had to be Hunter and his motorcycle. "Why would you connect a rider to his cycle? Wouldn't that just act as a seatbelt? Maybe he was aiming for the wheels? Or maybe he aimed for the motorcycle and the ground." More thoughts flooded Alex's head, but he put those off as well.

Taking out War, filled with ice bullets at the time, Alex quickly shot at the figure that was hanging onto the tree. From what Alex could see, it looked like the assailant latched himself or herself on, and wasn't hanging on to a branch. Alex shot's then focused on the tree itself, hoping that if he could freeze whatever was holding the attacker onto the tree, he would be able to disable the opponent and question them.

Metaruhōku in hand, Hunter sped towards the gunner, intent on stopping him. Suddenly, another flare streaked towards the convoy, and Hunter was right in its path.

"Oh, FRAG!" Hunter leaned over the right of Drifting Ronin as the flare passed where his head was two seconds ago.
OOC: This is just a visual reference and looks nothing like me, and I wanted to look badass, okay?
Fighting in the Forever Frosted Forest Dodge_zpsccf032ac
Fortunately, since the Ronin has a center of balance that doesn't change due to the way its driver leans, Hunter kept going straight for the mystery attacker without missing a beat. With the flare behind him, Hunter could see everything in front of him without being blinded.

Two more shots rang out. One had the attacker go straight up, out of the reach of the Ronin. The second one sounded different, and it went straight for him. Hunter, shouting out the voice command "BURN!", took less than a second to swing a now-burning with fire Metaruhōku and sent a wave of flames towards the projectile, incinerating what appeared to be a tow cable, but missing the one who shot at him.

Okay. You want to fight me face on? Hunter thought. Fine by me. Let's go. As the Ronin passed underneath the attacker, Hunter removed his knife from the throttle, and as he leaped off, the bike parked itself in a snowbank, allowing Hunter to head towards his attacker, shouting "BLAST" as he swung Metaruhōku.

I'll accept the deflection, but for purposes of detail they don't burn. Non-metallic fibers wouldn't withstand the forces Diadem gets used for))

"FIRE. HOT. BAD."

A wall of flame filled Alton's vision from where the rider had leapt from his vehicle. Normally, Alton would just reel in his grapple lines to pull himself out of danger - except here, he was at a standstill, no lines in place. The closest trees were too thin to brace his movement, and there was nothing above him to leap to.

Wincing with anticipation, Alton fired straight down, gasping as his shoulders popped in response to the jerking force towards the ground. He felt flames lick at his legs as he plunged into a snowbank, and heard the hiss of evaporating water as the flames vaporized his cold cover. Thankfully, the snowbank had broken his fall, for the most part - his shoulders ached and his boots had been blackened, but otherwise he'd escaped being flambeed.

"Too many to fight directly. Get the evidence and get out." Rising from the snow, Alton called out to the cyclist: "Nice ride. Sorry to run off in such a hurry, seeing as you just got here..." Alton fired a wire straight at the rear truck, the spike embedding itself firmly in the metal siding, "But I've got business to attend to." Popping a quick salute, Alton leapt into the air and half-flew, half-skied over the snow towards his target.

The cyclist would need a moment to get back on his vehicle, and the other guards were still barely reacting. He'd have time enough.

Alex's shots apparently had missed. The smoke was doing wonders with his aim. That was bad.

He heard something get stuck to the truck [5]'s side and saw the attacker slide towards the truck. Since Alex was on top of truck [5], he had to act quickly. As the attacker rushed towards the side, Alex jumped down and in one swift motion drew his gauntlet blades and cut the cable as he fell, making sure to point one in the attacker's direction once he landed.

With his tow line cut, Alton quickly screeched to a halt, the snow piling up and sapping his speed. A guard had leapt from the top of the truck and cut the line, pointing a gauntlet blade at Alton. Classy. "Sorry, mate, but I rather dislike sharp, pointy objects being pointed at me. That and fire. Let your friend back there know that."

Alton charged at the guard, feinting a melee attack before dropping into a slide, firing another double-spike line at point blank - short and heavy enough to pin a man to a wall, should the opportunity arise.

Running towards the commotion, Mao noticed someone he had never seen sliding under Alex. Is this the enemy? Does he not have anyone else with him? There's no way he causes all this by himself, right?, Mao thought as he continued running at him.

"GodDAMNIT!" Hunter watched as the attacker speed away from him towards the convoy. No time to grab the Drifting Ronin and reach that guy in time. Unless... He slapped his sword onto his back while using his nightblade to call the Ronin to follow him with the knife's homing system.

"Metaruhōku! TRANSFORM and BOOST!" With his wings spread, Hunter rocketed towards the trucks. There. He thought. Wait, is he trying to attack Alex? Is he about to shoot? Hunter was not going to let that happen, flipping his knife so he was holding it by the point and threw it at the truck, watching it embed the truck right behind the attacker's head. Landing ten feet away, Hunter folded his wings and watched as the Ronin sped right past him, air brakes deployed, headed for the head of guy shooting at Alex.

Hopefully, Hunter thought, the Roninwill decelerate enough to just knock the guy out.

Hopefully.

OOC: When Hunter presses the homing button, the Ronin will follow him and slow down to a stop right next to him. If he pushes the button twice, it will follow him without stopping, allowing him to do jump onto it and speed away fast.

Though Lucius doesn't have enough physical strength to flip Bus [1] or fix the arrangement of Bus [2] and [3], he was capable of moving them by using his deflective aura. He placed Xavier under the windshield of Bus [1] and then placed Valerie in between Bus [2] and [3]. He then activated his ability, "Aura Snap", and his aura had resonated with his shields. Thus it flipped Bus [1] right back up and had given a considerable distance between Bus [2] and [3], making the drivers be able to maneuver themselves from the accordion fold. And then retrieved Valerie on the road.

Bus [1] is nonoperational, and neither does Bus [2] or [3] have spare tires. I guess the drivers did not think that they would be attacked by people who would target their tires since they only contain civilians; they had only prepared for us Soon-to-be Hunters to protect them from the Grimm.

"It seems that all the commotion is happening at the area where the SDC Trucks are, the one who had set up all this must be aiming for those trucks", he thought as he was helping out the civilians.

He immediately instructed the driver of Bus [3] to continue forward since the bus had only suffered a large dent and that with the current situation, the authorities, some ambulances, and some mechanics are needed. Bus [3] continued forward and Bus [2] had placed itself at the side of the road with considerable distance from Bus [1]. By the way things look, any vehicle could pass now.

The road now being free could surely be seen by the SDC Trucks. He then attached one end of the tow cables on Bus [2] and he placed the other end on the ground. Lucius then rested on the opposite side of the road ((Where the other end of the tow cable was)) from Bus [2] because using "Aura Snap" continuously  takes a toll on his stamina. He simply waited for SDC Trucks to pass and had set up a counter-measure if ever the attacker would try to chase after it.

((OOC: Notice how Lucius did not retrieve Xavier from the road))

Alex watched as the attacker stood across from him, standing still because his tow line was cut. "Sorry, mate, but I rather dislike sharp, pointy objects being pointed at me. That and fire. Let your friend back there know that." He heard, and dropped down to a lower crouch, ready to strike.

Suddenly, the attacker started charging towards Alex, and at the last second, dropped into a slide. Alex reacted quickly, but not quick enough. He slashed his gauntlet blades at the attacker, but his momentum allowed him to slide past Alex. However, even though Alex's intended attack missed, he managed to cut the double spike line that was fired at him.

He quickly turned around to face the attacker and threw a special red dust-covered throwing knife at the corner of the truck that lead to the doors.

OOC: It would seem to anyone watching, that Alex missed his throw. In fact, Alex meant to do that, because the "specialness" of the throwing knife is that its a motion detecting explosive one. The explosion isn't too big, but the force is concentrated enough to blow a person back without doing that much damage.
