Bird and Cat [Invite Only]

Aoife was bored, sitting in the courtyard with nothing to do. Sure she had Lamentation. And Sure she could probably harass some new kids for the fun of it, but that was getting stale. Yawning, she glances down at her bench, claimed from a lovey-dovey couple a few minutes before, her thoughts drifting along as she fiddles with her engagement ring, "Wonder where Melissa is..."

On a stroll through the courtyard, Isabelle walked with her hands in her hoodie pockets, glancing around at the scenery.  Walks like this were nice, usually serving as decent distractions from her daily troubles.  She didn't seem to be paying too much attention to any people nearby, more focused on reaching her destination, wherever that may have been.

Hearing the footfalls not that far from her, she spots who it is with a smirk. Finally someone I know! Quickly unsheathing Lamentation, it sparks before a lance of electricity passes just in front of Isabelle, "Hey! What's up Izzy? Off to hang around with Leo or something? Or you able to talk? Bored, no one is here, and I am pretty sure Aph is off mating with some girl, so figured you could entertain me or something, get to know each other or something like that!"

Isabelle jumped back as the lance passed her, her hand instinctively landing on the handle of one of her swords.  She turned to look at Aoife, glaring at her.  "God dammit, you scared me!"  Sighing, she lowered her hand, slowly walking toward the bench and sitting down.  "I haven't seen either of them today, so I might as well.  Nothing better to do."  Realizing that what she said could be taken wrong, she continued.  "Er, no offense, or anything."

Laughing it off, she sheaths her sword again, "Don't worry, I'm in a good mood, or at least. I think I am. Anyway, How are things for you? Judging from your reaction, your being a scaredy ca- .. Acting Jumpy, today. Or is it just nearly being hit by a light electrical attack? " Glancing at Isabelle's ears slightly, she quickly adds in a lower voice, "And sorry about the cat phrase.."

Sighing, Isabelle rubbed the back of her head.  "Eh, it happens.  Can't stop myself from being faunus.  And yeah, it was more of the unexpected attack than anything else."  After a moment of pondering something, she frowned.  "Hey, uh, sorry, but...  What's your name again?"

Frowning, she looks over Isabelle before speaking, "Knight. Aoife Knight." Turning to look at her hands again, she fidgets before speaking, "We have met one or two times. Hardly talked though... Also, my mum is a Cat Faunus.. So don't take it as an insult." Trying to laugh nervously, she quickly takes out her scroll, "If you don't believe me, I can show you."

"No need, I believe you.  I don't really take insult to it, mainly because it was an accident, or seemed to be.  Not being a faunus would be easier, I think."  The last sentence was some sort of a mumble, before Isabelle decided to move on.  "So.  How's Aph doing?"

"Not bad, I think? He is his usual self, so seems all right..." Putting her scroll back, Aoife then looks around before continuing to talk, "Seems quiet.. How are your grades doing? You usually seem like the quiet one who gets the good grades. Or at least you give off that appearance, plus speaking to Domi- Leo all the time must mean it rubs off on you."

"That's good, I suppose."  Isabelle shook her head at the mention of her own grades.  "I haven't been paying attention to them or classes, really.  I'm guessing C's and B's...  I should probably start working on that again...  As for Leo's intelligence rubbing off on me?  I wouldn't count on it.  We don't really have much in common, at all.  Especially height."  She reclined back on the bench, seemingly thinking about something.  "I'm not even sure what it is about him that I like.  But I do like him, I know that much."

Snickering, "Aww~ Izzy is in love. Don't ask for pointers, I wouldn't be the best person to talk about this subject. Maybe Indigo could though. As for things you have in common? Well, a fully working body would also be a difference." Scratching the back of her neck, she scowls slightly as she catches her finger on the skin-coloured collar around her neck, quickly moving it to make sure no one sees she is wearing one, though it'd probably be easy to spot for a certain faunus next to her.

Isabelle turned slightly red at the mention of being in love, followed by a sigh.  "I think it might be a bit early for calling it "love"..."  Aoife's collar didn't go unnoticed, and it almost reminded her of the one she saw when with Leo...  Her first assumption was that it belonged to Aphelion, as some people were into that kind of thing, but it still made her uneasy.  "Also, if you're not going to say Isabelle, you can just call me Belle. I'd prefer that over Izzy."

"Belle? Okay. And are you denying that you have any romantic feelings for the tin can then?" Shifting to unsheathe Lamentation again, she starts cleaning it using her top, humming softly to herself as she does so.

Isabelle raised an eyebrow at the name "tin can", but answered anyway.  "No, I'm pretty sure I do...  It's just, this is the first time I've ever felt this way about someone.  Hell, coming to Beacon is the first time I've even made friends with anyone.  B-"  She paused as she looked over at Aoife cleaning her weapon, noticing the ring on her hand.  "You're...  Engaged?"

"Yeah. Why? Not exactly a big deal." Shrugging, she quickly cleans out the eye sockets on her hilt before looking at Isabelle, "And if you want friends, you can count me as one. I mean, you don't have to if you don't want to. It's just if you ever feel lonely or something like that, and I can be of assistance. Apparently I have to keep blowing things up to a minimum."

"Oh, uh, alright.  Thanks."  Having new friends was always nice, but she hardly knew Aoife. Perhaps spending some time with her would change that.  "As for the engagement thing, it's just that I already know of one couple that recently got married.  Kind of early, I think.  And as it's only our first year here, I wouldn't be surprised if everyone had a ring by the time we got out."'

"It's probably the secret plan by Ozpin to get everyone in a relationship by matching those who are compatible into teams, so are constantly in close proximity to each other. Or it's just coincidence." Shrugging, she laughs before stating, "Though. He's becoming Aphelion Knight. That much is certain. Unless I have a younger brother born before when we get married. But that's unlikely.."

After listening to Aoife's crazy conspiracy, Isabelle couldn't help but laugh herself.  "I'm sure that it's only a coincidence.  Are you and Aphelion even on the same team?"

"No..." Frowning as she is laughed at, Aoife was half tempted to yank on Isabelle's ears and tail as revenge, though remembered that she tends not to hit cat Faunus... Often, "And you and Leo aren't on a team, as he is on my team. So... Inter-team relations? I have no idea what team you are on. Ehehehe~"

"My team?  I'm on team ALIA, or Alliance.  Kind of a strange name for a team, but not everyone can get one of the perfect names.  But, it is the greatest team in all of Beacon Academy."  Isabelle said the last sentence with a bit of sarcasm, grinning slightly as she crossed her arms.  "Not really.  We haven't done much together, in terms of assignments.  And I'm not really a great fighter either way."  She frowned a bit at the last part, shrugging.  "But, I guess that's why I'm here.  To get better at it."

"Called Alliance yet don't do things together? Sounds a bit ironic.  Though... My team is called Lack... I would rather not go into details about what the others say about the name and me..." Blushing slightly for a few seconds, she immediately perks up after that, "Though. I am a rather good fighter, when I choose my opponents wisely. Like not going up against someone who could beat every person in Beacon with ease multiple times... Or a succubus who eats my main weapon for breakfast.."

Aoife's comment about her team name and her self was not too hard for Isabelle to put together, but she kept herself from looking to confirm it.  "I mean, I spar a lot, when people are actually around.  It almost always ends with me losing, or in a draw.  And considering I've only actually fought Grimm two or three times, I can't tell if I'm just bad at fighting people, or living things in general."

"I could help train you at some point. Act as a sparring trainer. Something like that. Hell, I would fight you right now. But it'd be unethical. Something like that." Shrugging, she relaxes into the bench, looking up at the sky, "Well... I can teach you to be better, just not the best. I mean, I kinda suck against humans.."

"Uh, yeah, I don't want to fight you.  From what little I've seen, you seem to be better, at least."  Isabelle frowned again, before shrugging.  "Anyway.  Maybe we should do something, preferably not fighting.  Just sitting here is a bit boring."

Shrugging as well, Aoife glances over what she can see of Isabelle's weapons, "Yeah, I may win. Kinda used to dual wielding. Do you attack with both at the same time or one defending one attacking? The second is the best way to do it, as then you can also, shock horror, defend yourself if you are countered, as your attacks will be weak compared to a two hander." Patting her sword affectionately, she gives Isabelle a genuine smile, "Trust me on first hand knowledge. Anyway, as for doing something? Completely up to you."
