Week 16 Wednesday

The forever fall forest at late afternoon. The sun's rays beginning to fade away as a small boy naps in a tree. David had been napping in the tree for roughly two hours. Originally he set out to grab some Beowolf pelts and such, but he soon found himself sleepy and wanting to find a quite place to sleep. Now the small boy sleeps at top a tree.

Contentment would course throughout a certain Huntress-in-training's being, ebon-lavender locks of hers blowing ever so slightly in a momentary breeze. Eyes of hers would be locked upon the skies above, watching the clouds pass up high. Smiling gently to herself, she gave a relieving sigh before briefly averting her gaze from the blues upward and toward the surrounding trees.

Feline auds of hers would flicker faintly at the sight of another afar. Tilting her head, she carefully leaned forward across the branch she was sitting upon in attempt to get a better look. ...I have a weird feeling that I know who that is, she thought to herself, beginning to lift herself up gradually. Once on both heels, she silently leaped from branch to branch with some swiftness, stopping herself above the branch in which the lad took his slumber upon. She sat down, ensuring that he legs were securely hooked around the wood before allowing herself to fall backward and hang upside down. As a result, she found herself gazing at the other's face as she seemed to await some reaction. Aaaah...yeah, I know who this is...

David's eyes flickered a little as he opened them to se a familiar face. He blinked a few times before smiling slightly. "Hello there Chelsea. What brings you here, or rather up here?" He asked as he looked over the side of the branch to see he had fallen asleep in a tree. Why is it always a tree? He shrugged as he turned to the other and waited for a response.

"Er...normal business, I guess. Skygazing and all," the lass replied, lifting a hand (or letting it fall, rather) and quickly grasping hold of the arrows within her quiver too prevent them from falling. She looked over her shoulder and at them, attempting to slip them back in at an angle that way the tips would get caught and the arrows themselves wouldn't escape. "And you? You didn't just come all the way out here to take a nap in a tree, did you?"

David just shrugged. "I came out here to hunt some Grimm, but ended up falling asleep. It seems wondering around in the forest for hours can make you sleepy." He said as he yawned. He then looked back at the girl before sitting up. He then tilted his head. "Um, why are you upside down?"

Blinking, the scythe wielder look at David for a couple of moments. "...Because I'm able to be," she said quietly, laughing awkwardly before falling silent. After this happened she quickly heaved herself upward into a normal sitting position upon the branch above. She took a moment to fix her hair, tucking a few strands behind her ear before directing her gaze downward. "So...hunting turned to sleeping, hm? You plan on continuing the hunt, or are you gonna drift off again?" she asked, slightly grinning.

David shrugged. "I might...but this branch is nice and comfy." He said with a slight yawn. He smiled at the girl before resting his head against the trunk of the tree. He then looked out to the setting orange sun. It's beautiful colors burned in the sky. He soon looked up at the girl above and smiled slightly, before setting his gaze on the sun. "What a beautiful scene." He said as he watched the sun.

Taking a glimpse skyward at the lad's ending statement, the Huntress gave a low sigh as she saw the arrangement of orange shades and tints above. "Indeed it is..." she replied quietly, her earlier smile growing softer in admiration of the scene before her. Relaxing her stature, she leaned her back against the trunk, continuing to look skybound all the while. Lilac voids would seal slowly and briefly as the girl simply relished the moment. "It's amazing how relaxing this c-" The start of the sentence ran along smoothly, though midway it would come to a sudden stop. Feline auds would shoot up as her enhanced sense of hearing kicked in, catching something rustling some distance away. Both eyes of hers would open in narrowed slits as this happened, shifting to the side in order to see if anything visually accompanied the sound she had heard.

David looked up and saw her ears twitch. "Where?" He looked up and saw a black figure appear in the distant trees. A large monkey Grimm jumped from tree to tree. It looked at the group and let out a shriek. Soon multiples of them came out. A total of 9 came out of the trees screeching. David's eyes opened up as he sighted the creatures. "Heads up! Grimm!" He called out as he readied his combat turrets.

"Way ahead of you, " the hybrid replied in a low, calm tone. With her weapon already at arms within the left hand, she already slid one of the metallic arrows from her quiver against the gun-bow. Her eyes narrowed as she gazed at a farther target, she allowed her right hand to flicker within a surge of electricity, seemingly charging the arrow that she held. Once a good amount of energy could be seen flickering violently around the form of the arrow she shot it, aiming it toward the farthest Grimm's shoulder to disable it, perhaps even for a short period of time. As soon as this was done she leaped off of her branch, immediately blasting a strong amount of energy that she had 'borrowed' from the city alongside the arrow upon landing.

The Grimm reeled back in pain as the shot landed on its shoulder. It then let out a fighting shriek. As it did two more jumped for Chelsea only to be knocked away from the shockwave. Three had their sights set on David. He took aim and released a shower of lead on the targets. Two dropped but one made it within attack range of David. He readied his knife for a fight. As for Chelsea, the two that were knocked back had gotten up and were joined by the wounded one and three others.

As the other six primates seemed to rush over, the lass shifted herself into a sort of battle stance. She allowed her bow to rest at her side for a moment, only to begin spinning it with ease within both hands moments after. The series of movements she processed seemed to separate the bow, shifting it into its secondary form of a pair of jagged-bladed hand scythes, and straight into the tertiary form of the same scythes with a rifle resemblance within each immediately afterwards. With a blade in each hand, she allowed both hands of hers to flicker within another surge of electricity, charging the metallic portions of each scythe handle, which then seemed to leak onto the scythe blades themselves.

Once each were charged a sufficient amount she would chuck one of her scythes forward, striking three of the squadron of six diagonally upward, controlling the scythe afar with the one in her hand in order to do so. She forcefully slashed upward with the weapon at hand, causing the farther one to score through the flesh and armoring of the Grimm from the farthest left to the central area between them. The static that she had surged throughout the blades would more than likely have some extra little shock. Immediately after doing so she would yank the farther scythe back toward her being, shooting the remaining extremity upwards and grasping it by the handle as soon as it returned. Turning her dual tools toward the targets laid out before her, she would then put her primary focus on the first two on the left that she had struck, firing a spread of bullets within them.

David looked down as he held his knife in the grimm's neck. She moved gracefully as she attacked. .....Wow. He let the creature down and slid down the tree. "Nice job. You looked grea-." His sentence was cut short as a large paw sent him flying 10 feet away. He tries to get up but to no avail. The paw belonged to a large monkey like Grimm standing at 9 ft high and 6 feet wide. It soon walks over to where David lies and gets ready to attack.

Lilac voids would shift briefly to the side as their keeper heard the beginnings of a praise, though widened rather suddenly as they caught sight of the lad being smacked across the clearing. "David!" she called out, beginning to step toward his direction to aid. Much like he was, however, she felt herself be smacked some distance across the forest by a hand of sorts, courtesy of one of the four remaining beasts on her tail. Hissing in frustration --- which was something she seemed to rarely do --- she created yet another shockwave, this one stronger than the previous one, and sent it toward the Grimm chasing after her and briefly stunning them in the process. Since she found a momentary pain within her side and was, for the moment, unable to get up from it, she lifted herself into a sitting position with much effort, charging her palms with some energy and firing a beam at the head of the monkey-like figure pursuing the boy.

The Grimm reeled back as she sent the blast at it. It let out a screech as it got ready to attack. The other Grimm had been eliminated by the blast either turning them to char or sending them flying. The large Ape like Grimm looked at the girl and closed in on her slowly.

"...Well, shit," the crossbreed muttered under her breath, her gaze never leaving the standalone beast as it shifted his attention upon her. Quickly she swung her scythes around, shifting it back into its initial bow form and holding it up in some defense. As she did so she held it up, charging it one last time with a surge of electricity. If things went as she thought they would, then her weapon would more than likely have been swatted from her hands, and the Grimm before her would be distracted by a temporarily shock that lingered within its palms. If it decided to strike her head-on rather than ridding of her equipment, however...then she might be in more of a bind than she hoped.

The Grimm flinched slightly before attacking, but stooped half-way in the attack as a voice rang out. "Hey you over-grown piece of filth." The Grimm looked over to see a large black like flame engulfing the person who was once David. The figure stepped out as wisps of dark aura came off his body. He smiled evilly as he looked at the creature. "No hurting the lovely lady. Understand!" He said as his fist ignited in a dark aura. The beast charged at him and Davy smiled at this. "I SHOULD HAVE A SKULL BY MY NAME!!" He yelled as he charged as well. He slammed his fist into the head of the Grimm. A slight crack could be heard as he hit it. Ah the sound of bones cracking so great. The beast was sent flying as David stood looking at it. "That was fun!" He said as he began to laugh.

Breathing deeply in attempt to relieve herself of the pain coursing throughout her figure, the lass seemed to fall somewhat, balancing herself upon her elbows and dropping Zephyr in the process. She braced herself for the worst as a result, though found that no strain was cast upon her. Slowly she looked up, finally seeing the reason for this. She looked on with some disbelief, Faunus auds of hers flickering as he heard the boy from afar suddenly call out, a different aura radiating from him...quite literally. "...David..." she said to no one in particular, gazing at the chap in awe.

The feeling of stress fading away gradually, the hybrid gradually brought herself onto her feet with a light groan. She held her side, hooking her bow upon its arrow quiver before looking at the menace that the other had caused. By then, she noticed that it was completely over. With much hesitance --- as she seemed to have been deeply surprised by this new side of the cyborg --- she began walking over, though at a slow pace to prevent stressing herself. "David...that was amazing," she would speak, her voice filled with an awkward fusion of both impression and perhaps even the slightest bit of fear. "I-I mean...it was really unexpected but...wow."

Davy just smiled at the girl. "David is out for now. Davy is here right now." He said as he pulled the pin out of a grenade. The Grimm came charging out at him. He reeled his hand back and jammed it down the Grimm's throat. He smiled as he kicked it away. The beast looked at him a few seconds before his head exploded. "I came out when he saw you in danger. I am the dark one he fears." He said as he smiled at the headless Grimm.

Chelsea tilted her head at 'Davy's' initial reply, Faunus auds of hers flickering a tad in slight curiosity and confusion. "...Davy?" she repeated quietly, looking at the smirking boy in front of her. Her focus would briefly shift over toward the Grimm as it charged back, only to have something that she didn't know for certain shoved into its mouth before being punted afar. "...Hey, what did you just-" she began, though cut herself off almost instantly as she saw the beast's head explode from the inside out, seemingly from the throat up. "...O-oh. That's...nice..."

Remaining silent for several moments, the girl found herself gazing at the headless corpse before snapping from her daze and looking back at...Davy. "Wait, so...you appeared when that happened...?" she asked, still looking at him as if needing clarification. ...Waiiiiit, he did say something about his mind fracturing, and...oh.

Davy just nodded. "Correct. I come out when someone he cares for is endanger, or he is close to death. I see he has told you about us. Or me at least. That other drunk bastard is asleep as well. So tell me is this the lass that has befriended goody two shoes?" He said as he looked the headless Grimm over.

"Er...drunk...bastard..." she would mimic quietly, scratching the back of her right Faunus aud as she attempted to register the knowledge that was just told to her. It would soon hook over and onto her face, gently rubbing it before falling limp at her side again. "Um...yes, I guess I am. Albeit, it was because one of his others friends pushed him to talk to me, but...yeah. I guess."

Davy just laughed. "Ah let me guess someone pushed him quite literally over to you. That's the only way he would talk to a girl as pretty as you." He said as he looked at his watch. It would be a few minutes before David took the helm again.

"Aha, yes, that's what ha-" the lass began after hearing Davy's initial reply, though seemed to cut herself off as she fully realize the secondary statement that he had claimed. Seemingly frozen for a few moments, she didn't exactly know how to handle the compliment she was given. She broke from her temporary little daze, though only to briefly and faintly cover the bottom half of her face with the hand that she had just laid to rest as a tinge of crimson found its way upon her expression. "E-er...well...th-thank you...?" she would manage to say after some silence, her voice even quieter than it was prior. It would be all that she could say for the moment, due to the fact that she was never really used to being complimented in...well, in really any way. Often times, she just didn't know how to respond.
