The sound of the ocean had always soothed Alph's mind whenever it was troubled. More and more lately, he had been finding himself wandering down to the docks just for a bit of relaxation. He had underestimated how stressful being a student at Beacon was really going to be. Between classes, training, and socializing, he barely had room to breathe, much less keep up with his parents' shipping business. He knew that he should be doing more to help them, but he had to focus on his studies. It was impossible to keep up with the business and be a full time student.

So Alph found himself at the docks again, just wandering around, occasionally stopping to shoot the breeze with the sailors he knew. It was pleasant to not think about history or weapon maintenance, and slip back into the world of ships and cargo for a while. The salt breeze was familiar, and the rough manner of the deckhands was a welcome change from the slightly-too-cultured students at Beacon. Giant tankers and small sailboats abounded at this time of day, everyone looking to take on or offload cargo or passengers. You could find anything at the City of Vale's docks. Even peace.

Alph sat down on a bench overlooking the beach, leaning his head back and just letting the world wash over him. He started to hum an old shanty, one of his favorites growing up.

Aye, aye, the nights are long,
And the wind is rough and moaning.
The clouds are thick, the waves are strong,
Our loyal ship is groaning.

But we'll sail on, through night and storm,
For our home land is calling.
There's loving kin, and fire warm
Beneath a new sun dawning.

Fionn walked out of the dropoff point hidden within a door in a dark alleyway near the docks whistling a happy tune as he always did on his payday, he had been saving up money to get a forty year old case of whiskey he had seen at an Antique shop, his normal whiskey was starting to have less of an affect on his thoughts about his mother and father, so having something with the extra bust of alcohol that the forty year old had would be a real relief to his thoughts.
He stepped out onto the bright docks squinting as the light hit his eyes, he was spinning Oberursel around like an old revolver on the one finger which he had placed in the trigger guard. He continued to walk when he heard an interesting humming coming from a man sitting in a bench, rather liking the tune he began to whistle it himself as he walked by Alpheus still spinning his blade at his side

Lux walked out of a large warehouse with a scowl on his face. He'd been looking into this lead for two months while his school work suffered and his team worried, and it had been all for nothing. As this thought went through his head, sparks started coming out of Lux, followed by an electric shock wave that caused some of the nearby light bulbs to flicker on and then explode. Taking this as a hint that he needed to calm down, Lux thought through some ways to relax when it hit him.

'The beach' Lux thought. That was exactly what he needed, the smell of the ocean, the lapping of the waves, the tranquility. It was either that or risk damaging half the electronics in Vale. With this in mind, Lux made his way to the beach.

As Lux approached, he started to hear the sounds of the ocean, mixed with a song he recalled hearing from some of the sailors that worked on his dad's ships. Taking in those sounds, Lux made his way to the beach, trying to let go of his resent failure.

The whistling made Alph sit up straight. A man was walking by, twirling a gigantic blade with ease, whistling along with Alph's tune. Alph leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. Either the guy was a sailor, which meant he might have some old stories to swap, or he had a good ear for melody, which meant he was just an interesting person. Both possibilities seemed equally interesting to Alph. The size of that blade was intriguing as well, though the blade itself looked like it was held together with spit and prayers. This could be someone that Alph might enjoy talking to. He whistled and raised a hand in greeting.

"Hey there, stranger. Where'd you learn that tune? Not many people from the mainland know those shanties."

The morning was young, the day was bright and pleasant, and there were less enjoyable ways to spend some time than by getting to know another sailor on a beach by the docks. Maybe the guy would be interested in signing up with Alph's shipping company. They could always use a few more experienced hands on the smaller ships. Alph motioned to the empty space on the bench next to him.

"Care to join a fellow on this fine morning?"

"Well i heard you humming it there, and just thought it sounded nice" Fionn said with his signature grin coming forward as he looked down at the sailor man on the bench.
He quickly realized Alph was motioning for him to sit down as he spoke his next words to him, Fionn obliged and plopped himself down on the bench as he sheathed Oberursel, before putting his hands behind his head and crossing his right leg over his left.
"It sure is a fine morning, payday is always nice" He said to the man as he pulled from the depths of his jacket a large flask which he proceeded to uncork and take a long sip out of

As Lux walked down the beach, he noticed that the humming had stopped. As Lux looked around he saw two guys standing were he assumed the song had been coming from. As Lux stared at them the thing the caught his attention was the huge sword one of them was holding. Not because it was a masterpiece of engineering, but because it looked like a junk heap pressed into the shape of a sword. But what truly intrigued Lux was that even though it was made out of what seemed like hundreds of mismatching parts, he could not pick out a major structural flaw. Sure the blade was dull as a rock and the electronics looked like they would overheat at any moment, but their was no one point that if hit would cause it to crumble.

Lux kept starring at the sword, giving it his absolute focus as he tried to make sense of the design. Lux was so focused on the sword, he unknowingly was slowly moving towards it.

Alph laughed, nodding at the statement.

"Not a lot of joys in the world better than some money in your pocket and some booze in your stomach, I guess."

The flask looked expensive, its age apparent in the elegant design and construction. Not a cheap piece by any means, and Alph was willing to bet that its contents were just as rich. The heady smell of whiskey drifted across the bench, complementing the salt air and the morning's warmth. The stranger had leaned back and crossed his legs, so Alph did the same. He was about to ask another question when he realized he didn't even know the man's name. Alph put out a hand.

"Hey, I haven't even introduced myself. My name's Alph Stavros. It's good to meet you."

As he was speaking, Alph noticed another man walking towards them, his eyes focused on the gigantic sword Alph had noticed earlier. Alph waved the man over with a joyful ease; three could be a crowd, but it could also be a party.

"Ho there! There's room on the bench for more, if you'd care to join us, stranger!"

Fionn sighed and stretched. "Names Fionn, Fionn Macgorm Merc for hire!" He said as he cracked his neck and noticed the man walking towards them rather creepily, seeing his new found acquaintances reaction to the mans walking closer and closer to the duo he raised his flask into the air. "We have booze friend!"

Lux looks at the sword closely, now diverting his attention from the blade to the hilt.

"Is that hockey tape," Lux mutters as he strokes his chin. The two men sitting on the bench next to him say something to him but Lux just raises a hand to silence them so he could focus. "So by running the electricity through their it prevents major damage to the blade but..." Lux suddenly stopped talking. He also stopped moving, blinking, and also breathing as a realization that had no excuse to be so late suddenly arrived.

Lux turned his head slowly to see the two strangers on the bench. Lux desperately tried to think of something smart to say, but because most of his mental capacity was busy calling him an idiot and trying to find the closet wall to bag his head against, he was out of luck. What that left us was this.

"Uhh..." Lux gulped and started to nervously back away."Nice sword," Lux said weakly as he bairly made eye contact, trying desperately to come up with a plan to get out of this situation.

Alph watched, curious, as the stranger started muttering while staring at Fionn's blade. Fionn tried to tempt him with the lure of whiskey, but the guy just raised a hand for silence. Not exactly the friendliest character ever. Still, there was something kind of endearing about his awkward fascination with the weapon, and even more so with his struggle to make eye contact. Alph figured he'd have to make the guy talk if he wanted anything out of him.

Alph stood up and walked over to the man, clapping an arm around his shoulders. He wasn't very well-built, but there was a strength to his eyes when he looked up that Alph admired. He steered the new kid over to the bench and plopped him down between himself and Fionn.

"Fionn, this guy was admiring your blade and I think it's only fair if you give him a little bit of background on it, since he's so interested! I have to say, it is a unique looking thing."

Alph scratched his chin.

"Come to think of it, I'm pretty interested in it myself. What are you doing lugging that big of a piece of steel around Vale? Are you a Huntsman or something?"

Fionn grinned at the question and pointed at himself. "First year student at beacon and bounty hunter" He said as he stood up and stretched his back.
"Anyway, if you're really that interested in Oberursel here" Fionn with a quick motion took the blade out of its holster and laid it on his shoulder whilst holding it in his right hand. "It's just made out of parts i had laying around, got the Aura powered generator for five bucks from a scavenger, and the handle is made out of a chair leg" He said looking slightly to proud of this
He took the blade and spun it around for a second in the same manor he did earlier before sliding it back into the two pieces of leather attached to some straps that he used as a sheath with a click sound.
Fionn sat back down on the nearly crowded bench and took another sip of Whiskey.

'This is bad,' Lux thought as one of the strangers got up and walked towards him. When the stranger but his hand on Lux's shoulder, they made direct eye contact. At that moment Lux saw a glint in his eye. He had seen that same look before in the eyes of his sister, Garnette. It was a look that said 'I am going to be your friend no matter what'. 'Correction' Lux thought as he was guided towards the bench, 'this is terrible.'

After Lux was sat down, he didn't pay much attention to the conversation going around him and instead focused on trying to think of a way out. This all changed after the word "Huntsman" was said. After that, Lux's curiosity was peaked enough to prevent from from thinking of a good escape plan. Now Lux was paying attention to what the stranger who had been called Fionn was saying as he describe his bizarre weapon. Lux was fascinated by the ingenuity it would take to make a working weapon good enough to be used by a Huntsmen out of scrap.

Once again Lux's mind was completely fascinated with the strange sword. He wanted to take it apart. He wanted to see if he could put it back together. He wanted to see what it could do in battle. He wanted to fight against it, and maybe even wield it. He wanted to ask so many technical questions like 'how do you prevent the heat generated by the engine from lighting the wooden parts on fire?' or 'what type of metals did you use to surround the engine?' as well as a dozen others. He decided what order he wanted to ask these questions and with a small smile on his face looked up at Fionn.

And then Lux saw Fionn's face, the face of a man Lux did not know. He could be a friend, an enemy, or even the son of the man who had kidnapped him. Lux didn't know, and now the nervousness returned. He looked down at the bench, trying to think of something to say. All the questions he had a second ago had vanished from his mind, and as he tried to get them back, he ended up blurting out the first one that came to mind.

"How does it work?"

Alph couldn't believe his luck.

"You're a first-year at Beacon?"

Alph stabbed a finger towards his chest.

"I'm a first-year at Beacon! What are the odds?"

Just the sheer coincidence of it all overwhelmed Alph. Here he was, trying to get away from school in the least Beacon-like place he knew, and he had to meet another first-year student. He wasn't exactly upset, since meeting new people in his class was usually fun and always interesting. But he was slightly put out that his casual outing might end up turning into another school function. Still, this guy seemed pretty cool, and their new shared friend was funny enough. Might not be so bad.

Alph was content to let Fionn talk to the new guy about his weapon for a bit. The weapon itself was intriguing in its design, in the inherent simplicity and sloppiness that went along with it. Alph would never go into combat against a sea-GRIMM with a weapon like that, but if it worked for the fighter, that was good enough, right? The new kid's next question confused Alph a bit; hadn't Fionn just explained the weapon? Maybe there was more to it than just a slapped-together blade and hilt. You'd have to be a pretty good weaponsmith or enthusiast to spot that after just a few moments. Alph leaned over to the new guy.

"Say, what was your name again? And how do you know so much about Huntsmen's weapons?"

Lux almost jumped out of his skin when the man behind him talked to him. Lux had almost forgotten the man he still didn't know the name of was behind him and in the aftermath of his miniature mental breakdown, he had missed everything the people he was in between had said to each other. But he did hear the question, and with him being more of a wreck the usual decided the truth would be the better, or at least more coherent, option. Lux took a few deep breaths to calm himself down. 'The stranger asked simple questions' Lux thought 'I can answer those.'

Lux turned around around and looked the the blue haired man. Without any distractions, Lux had been able to calm himself down. He was still nervous and wanted to leave, but it wasn't showing as much.

"I'm Lux," He said to the man across from him, trying to make his voice sound relatively calm. "I built my own weapons to use as a Huntsman."

It was Haruki first time visiting Vale wanting to relax mainly by herself decided the beach was the best place. Walking there she noticed other people in a group she decided to avoid them. It was in her self interest to do such. So she began to walk in a different direction from them. Hoping none of them call her over. Her gaucho and shrine maid like shirt appeared to be dancing in the wind.

Fionn laughed a little at the mans question as he removed Oberursel from its home on his back once again and put the blade onto his lap (And also on everyone else lap a little). "
To be truthful i can't entirely answer that question, it's just a sword mostly except for the Aura powered lightning generator, but that thing barely works, if i leave it on for more than a minute at minimum charge it overheats, so i need to use it in bursts, but if i put it on maximum burst i can do a little trick" He said standing up and putting the blade into a swinging position, he pressed down on the trigger hard and put his weight behind the blade propelling it forward and sending forth a very large arc of raw energy which flew forward into the water of the bay.
"And that's how you repair a malfunction" Fionn said as a large amount of marine life began to rise up to the top of the water dead (Including a shark and an octopus).
He sat back down. "Do you want to hold it?" He said with a slightly devious undertone to his normal smile, as holding a blade such as Oberursel without being the type of fighter Fionn was is best described as a suicide mission.

"Wow, you're a Huntsman too? What are the freakin' odds?"

Alph studied the slight kid more seriously. Generally, Alph regarded Huntsmen as raw physical specimens, huge and imposing, able to fell giant GRIMM with a single stroke, always standing head and shoulders above everyone else. Still, everyone couldn't be like that, he supposed, and everyone could be a Hunstman if they tried hard enough and trained enough. And there was more to this kid, Lux, than met the eye.

"Well nice to meet you too!" Alph said with another grin, shaking Lux's hand without it being offered.

Alph zoned out for a bit as Fionn started to drone on and on about his weapon. Something, something lightning generator...something something bursts. A small girl in some sort of loose garment wandered along the edge of the pier, giving Alph's meandering people-watching a momentary focus. He was jolted back to reality, literally, by the discharge from Fionn's blade.

"Hey, hey! Watch where you're swinging that thing; there's people nearby!"

Alph wasn't really upset; it was a cool feature of an otherwise junky weapon. Still, that girl was a little to close to that blast radius for Alph's comfort. As Fionn laid the blade across the bench, Alph brushed it aside and cupped his hands over his mouth.

"Little lady, you didn't get caught by that swing, didya? You alright?"

Lux looked silently at the aftermath of Fionn attack. Part of his mind was applauding the ingenuity of turning such a flaw into a feature, but most of it was shocked that a Huntsmen would be so careless as to use a public area like this as a testing ground without a second thought. What kind of person was this guy.

When Fionn offered Lux the chance to hold the sword, he was still a little stunned. Shaking it of, he looked at Fionn and then back down at the blade a little nervously. Lux knew when he was distracted he had thought about holding it, but now that he was thinking more clearly he wasn't sure. He wasn't nervous about getting electrocuted, his body went through shocks almost on a daily basis. What made him nervous was the size of the thing.

Before Lux could responded, he was distracted by the man he still didn't know the name of shouting to a girl who had been standing near were the arc had hit. When Lux saw the girl he wondered if she was okay, but he was also thinking of a way he could use her as an excuse to leave. Lux still wasn't sure about these two. They seemed nice enough, but after that thoughtless demonstration Lux thought it was best to leave soon. Besides his feeling about the situation, someone may have called the Vale Police after seeing that blast.

Lux stood up from the bench and started walking towards the girl. "I'm going to see if she's okay," he said without turning around to look at the two still sitting on the bench.

Fionn stood up and followed Lux. "Ill come to, i should say sorry about the scare i probably gave her anyway" He said as he took his flask out and rubbed his finger on the engraving before taking a long sip as the duo walked towards the girl
Fionn didn't entirely know where he stood with Lux, he liked the sailor guy as he seemed interesting to him, but Lux just seemed like another socially awkward guy who was probably really cool when you got to know him, Fionn didn't like the effort he had to put in with awkward people.
They were now close to the girl, now up close to her Fionn saw that she showed the tell tale signs of being some form of a huntress
"Maybe ill try hitting on her, wait no no no, to young" He thought as they got closer.
"Hey are you okay, we were just testing out some weapons and we saw you down here and noticed you were pretty close to the blast of Oberursel here" Fionn said pointing to the handle of his blade as he said the last few word

THAT WAS YOU?! YOU COULD'VE KILLED ME! she then snarled. But yes I'm ok. Now will you leave me alone?her eyes were a bit dizzy from the blast it looked at any moment she would pass out. But the rest of her showed no sign of fatigue. Like simply she was ignoring the obvious.

Tamaki was checking out the town of Vale for the first time, handing the change to the boater as he stepped off and onto the docks, but something was off. The first thing to note was that the fish were all dead in the water, including a shark. Second was that he heard a woman scream, whatever was happening he needed to help.
An untying of his peace knot and about ten steps up the wall, he jumped over it in a somersault and landed inbetween the man and woman. Keeping his hand on the hilt of his blade he then stated, "What have you done here!" then looked with his eyes toward the woman behind him, "Are you ok milady? Did this man hurt you?"

Lux was still trying to figure out a way to convince the girl to help him get away from the two strangers without Fionn noticing when suddenly someone jumped in between him and the girl. Luckily for Lux, this person wasn't a stranger.

"What," Lux said while instinctively taking a few steps back and reaching for his weapons, just barely suppressing an electrical pulse. Then Lux recognized him. "Tamaki," Lux said with a confused look on his face as he stared at his teammate. This look was soon replaced by one that was slightly angry. "What the hell do you think you are doing," Lux shouted at Tamaki, "you don't just run into the middle of something without having at least a tiny clue of what's going on."

A drop of sweat could be seen as he slowy turned toward Lux, "Lux?, I have a perfectly reasonable explenation for this." He then took a look at his surroundings to re-establish his thoughts.
"You see, I came in and everything was dead, and burnt, and then I heard a woman scream and and I couldn't make out what it was but in something was said about killing and then I got here and she was I front of a guy carrying a massive sword so I kinda just assumed that he was, for lack of a better term, the bad guy."
Tamaki then looked back to said guy, whom smelt of alchahol and bad decissions, with a look of regret and apology.

"Hey not your fault, Oberursel here has that effect" Fionn said smiling at Tamaki charmingly "I was demonstrating my sword and was afraid that i had hurt this girl here, but she thankfully seems fine" He said as he procured his flask and proceeding to take a long drink from it.
