After four years of experiments, an accident caused a huge fire to start, which soon engulfed the facility. After escaping his cell and wandering through the burning building, Lux found his way out into the middle of a forest. After walking for almost two days, Lux wondered into a small park in the night, were he was found by a seven year old girl named Garnette Verity, who took him back to her house were her father, Carmine, tried to talk to him. After getting no answer and his daughter's pleading, Carmine aloud Lux to stay. Almost a week passed until Lux started talking and Carmine was able to find out what happened.
At the age of seven, Lux was adopted by the Verity family, owners of the major shipping and manufacturing company Verity Transport. Lux was privately tutored and trained with his sister, Garnette. At the age of ten, Lux was sent to a private academy for Huntsmen and Huntresses, were he was trained for seven years. While attending the academy, Carmine Verity had Lux's last name changed to Tempesta so that rivals and criminals wouldn’t kidnap him. At the age of seventeen, Lux and Garnette were both accept into Beacon Academy.
- Spoiler:
During these ten years, both Lux and his father tried to discover about his original family and the people who took him, but no clues regarding this have been found.
Personality: Lux is very nervous and quite around people he doesn't know, trying not to be noticed while also trying to figure them out. Around people he trusts, Lux is completely different, being very talkative and open with his ideas and opinions. No matter how well he knows you, Lux is always willing to help and listen to anyone. Lux is quite generous when he can be. When out of combat, Lux comes of as very low energy no matter who he is around, but becomes very energetic when fighting. He tends to prefer spending time reading or listening to music over hanging out with people, but he isn't against it as long as it doesn't involve large groups and/or strangers.
Strength: Lux is very fast and agile, able to close or create large distance between him and his enemy very quickly, as well as dodging attacks. Lux is also very intelligent, testing an enemies abilities and fighting style before before coming up with a plan to defeat them. Except for cheating, Lux is willing to, and usually does, take any advantage he can to win, including exploiting weaknesses and fighting dirty.
Weakness: Compared to most Hunters, Lux is physically weak. Because of this, he has to depend on his speed and wit to protect himself. Lux is also nervous about communicating his ideas and plans to people he doesn’t know, meaning he has trouble working on teams with strangers.
Semblance: Lux semblance is Lightning generation. This allows him to fire bolts of electricity at a target, or generate a shock wave in a small area around him. Lux's control of the lightning is limited to only were he aims it, having no control after it leaves his body. Lux aims the bolts using his hand or weapons, partially extending his arm and pointing it at his target. When a shock wave is generate, the electricity mostly comes from the upper body, but smaller amount are released from the arms and legs. The power of each attack is somewhat unstable, but they generally fall into three categories:
- The low level shocks can be fired every couple of seconds and slightly daze or stun the person they hit. Lux can normally generate just over a dozen of these before needing a rest
- The mid level shocks can be fired every four to five seconds and could knock over an unprepared target and injure them slightly. Lux can normally generate about six to seven of these before needing a rest
- The strong level shocks can be fired about every fifteen seconds, and produce enough power to send someone onto their back and cause slight burns. Lux can normally generate about two to three of these before needing a rest
On occasions when Lux gets angry or frustrated, he sometimes unintentionally lets out a shock wave, to weak to harm people but strong enough to damage nearby electrical equipment.
- Spoiler:
Due to the experiments run on him, Lux does not have a limit to the power that can be generated, the only thing that prevents him from using his powers in the upper levels is the negative side effects, ranging from sever burns, organ failure, seizures, or death.
WEAPONSWeapon 1Name: Lightning and Thunder
Primary Form: Twin daggers (Lightning is right, Thunder is left) with grey handles and silver, curved blades.
Secondary Form: Twin semi-automatic, single fire pistols
History: After arriving at the private academy, Lux wanted to design a pair of weapons that would give him a better range of movement and mobility then his other weapon, Red Dawn. This led to the creation Lightning and Thunder. Simple in appearance, Lux focused on function alone, designing the twin weapons to be as light and durable as possible. Ever since their completion, Lux rarely uses Red Dawn in combat, and almost never without using Lightning or Thunder as well.
Weapon 2Name: Red Dawn
Primary Form: A dark red spear with a straight blade at the end. The shaft has intricate designs on it, telling the story of the Verity Family from the time of The War to the present day, the end depicting the adoption of Lux into the family.
Secondary Form: A rifle with a scope and both single-fire and burst-fire modes. Because of the movement of the parts, it is not possible to make out what the design on Red Dawn means.
Tertiary Form: Red Dawn collapse into a much smaller form, allowing for ease of transportation. Lux stores it in a holster around the back of his waist, under his coat.
History: For generations, all members of the Verity family have designed a spear as their personal weapon. Though its use as a symbol of position has disappeared, the tradition is continued for the practical sense of needing a good weapon in this dangerous world, and Lux was not an exception. Soon after being adopted into the family, both Lux and Garnette began their training in how to design and build their weapons. After months of hard work, Lux finished Red Dawn. Lux trained and became very skilled with Red Dawn, but found that he preferred lighter and smaller weapons, leading to the creation of Lightning and Thunder. Even though Red Dawn sees little combat, Lux still practice and trains with Red Dawn as much as, if not more then, Lightning and Thunder.
