Appearance: Jade has long, light pink hair with a green streak on it's right side, aqua colored eyes, and a heart-shaped face. Her hair is styled to fall over her left shoulder in gentle waves. Even when in her Beacon uniform, she wears a long red cape attatched to her left shoulder. In battle, she wears a light brown turtleneck shirt along with a necklace with a lightning bolt pendant underneath a white and brown leather jacket. There is a green metal pauldron with two glowing yellow stripes, a long flowing red cape attached to her back on the left side, and a brown belt around her waist. She also wears two dark blue fingerless gloves with gold plates over the knuckles, a long black sleeve over her left arm that begins from her bicep, and a brown mini-skirt. She wears two bracelets on her right bicep. She also has a slightly unnoticeable navel piercing. While difficult to see most of the time, she wears a pair of skin-tight black shorts underneath her skirt, presumably for modesty reasons. Her weapon is sheathed in a loose case behind her waist that is attached to her mini-skirt; there is a red storage pack attached to her skirt and left leg, and she wears two knee-high leather boots.

History: Jade Ruth was born into a normal family. Until her father died when she was young, and her mother died from an unknown illness when she was fifteen. With no other family to turn to, Jade raised herself alone. To overcome the pain of her parents' deaths and to become an adult as quickly as possible, she informally changed her name from Jade Ruth to "Lightning". However, despite the delusion of not needing her past, Lightning was still a normal and helpless child without her parents who wanted to be loved. When she graduated from Sanctum, she had already made the decision to leave Mistral and move to Vytal for a fresh start, specifically, Vale. She enrolled herself to beacon Academy at the age of 16, being accepted at 17 and proceeding to live life normally...well, as normal as an orphaned 17 year old can live.

Personality: Jade's personality is very determined, concentrated, independent, and cunning. Jade has a straightforward persona with a lone wolf attitude, She is also easily annoyed. However, Jade is not heartless; as she cares deeply for her friends' safety, but seems completely oblivious to how much they care about her the same way. Interestingly, Jade seems slightly shy towards physical proximity outside of a combat situation, often moving away from people she does not know well.

Strength: Jade is exceptional at close and medium range fighting, but she prefers melee, often closing the gap with the rifle version of her weapon. Because of her lone wolf style, she is well suited to fighting alone. She's well suited to any terrain, as long as it's not mid-air; she can't fly, however she can expertly land without assistance('Assistance' does not include weapons) if required, like initiation.

Weakness: At long range fighting, she's nearly incompetent, her rifle was designed specifically close to medium ranged combat. She's not very sociable. Because of her lone wolf attitude, she might not work properly as part of a team. She is quick to temper and sometimes loses focus during battle just to argue with someone. She's not very fast at reloading, often getting her weapon jammed.

Semblance: When Jade activates her semblance, she moves at an extreme speed, going from walking to speeds that are nearly too fast for the eye to catch, making it appear as if she can teleport. She may only do this for a maximum of twenty seconds at a time, requiring two minutes to fully recover from it.


Name: Blazefire Saber.

Primary Form: Blazefire Saber is a rather stocky black and red rifle, she often uses it at medium range. If she slides the stock together, it'll unfold into it's secondary form, this takes about one second.

Secondary Form: Once transformed, it is an ornate longsword used for melee. Jade sometimes keeps the Blazefire Saber's secondary form in a sheath on her left hip, drawing it with her right hand, across her body, to quickly slash an enemy while pulling it out.

History: Jade had painstakingly forged this weapon during her training at Sanctum academy, taking her time with detail and making sure it worked perfectly. Unfortunately she didn't really practice with the rifle part of her weapon, and isn't very capable of reloading as fast as she'd like.


Family: Jade is an orphan; no parents since her father died when she was very young, and her mother died from an unknown illness when she was fifteen.
Other: Jade doesn't have an opinion on the Faunus as a race, believing they're just people, with animal parts added.

What strikes me the most is the lack of both strengths and weaknesses. Don't be shy! Buff her up a little, just remember to keep it balanced!

I'd also like some details on both just how fast she goes with her semblance, as well as how exactly the rifle turns into a sword.

Already mentioned - but reinforcing the statement - add some meat to these bones. A lot of meat. The nature of the fighting style? Is it fancy, flashy, technical or just raw power? How so at medium range? Any terrain specialties? Any particular reasons it is such a way?

Essentially this needs a lot of fleshing out. The same could be said for the weapon as well. You have a solid frame here, you just need to build on it.

Um, mind re-assessing? Edited a bit, I don't know if it still requires alteration, but I'm open to input, positive and otherwise.
