Without her detachable cat ears many would have to do a double take to realise that Nicole and Nyuu! are one and the same. Although the scandalous truth about the artificial nature of her faunus ears has already been exposed, she continues to wear them in order to support awareness for the rights that she feels that race deserves. She's surprisingly light on her feet, given that all she wears are high heels. (Not that they help much with her height complex anyway - standing at 5'2" / 159cm.) The soles of her shoes are personally modified so they create a paw print shape in the ground. Nicole doesn't fit modern conventions for what is considered beautiful, but as with many "Euro-Asians" her face is still pretty interesting. She's got big European hair, (except its flaxen rather than dark,) and bright blue eyes that taper in towards the inner corner, kind of like an almond. Aside from those features everything else about the teen idol is quite miniscule, from her build to her tiny fairy nose and a mouth so small that you wouldn't even notice her lips if she didn't say something once in a while.

History: Nicole, or rather, Nyuu's rise to fame is credited to one single video - a dance video she apparently made, riding on the coattails of a viral MV... The dancing in said video was not bad, in fact it was pretty good. But most people couldn't care less about that, they were paying more attention to the fact that a Cat-eared Faunus had the gall to post a video of herself dancing on the internet: Here is the Video

It did not take long for arguments from both sides to come pouring over the comments and even media - however the only people who profited from this marketing tactic were Nyuu's record label who's idea was to make her debut as attention grabbing as possible. And it worked! She made a number of successful hits and videos, and became one of the most talked about girls in the world. But she would come close to losing it all when someone found an old video of her dancing without cat ears and posted it online under the title "The truth about your star." It was later revealed to the public that Nyuu is not actually a Faunus but a regular human who can sing and dance. 'Her ears were phoney!' 'We've been lied to!' Humans tried to disown her, Faunus felt betrayed by her... Everything was looking bleak for the starlette when one winter day, under a clear night sky, Nyuu appeared on the largest building downtown and sang her heart out. The song was called "Star," which Nyuu wrote and composed by herself - inspired by the struggle of Faunus in this world torn in hate for one another. The lyrics include, "I'm calling out to all the burnt out lights. Yes, you. ""You're always shining bright, Don't you know? I wish you could see how glorious you are." Her words were able to touch those who heard her song, not just emotionally, but physically. Really! Her words were transformed into tangible blocks of text which were flying into the sky - exploding like fireworks. It is said on that night, Nyuu's name rang loud through the streets and she became "Kingdom Vale's little sister."

The events in that story happened exactly one year ago when she was 16 years old. She was able to release a number of chart topping songs before taking a hiatus from pursuing a career in entertainment but instead focusing on bettering herself at Beacon Academy.

Personality: Despite her stage persona often being likened to a Tigress, her true nature couldn't fall further from that. When Nicole dances, she's sexy free and powerful.... but when she's doing anything else she becomes rigid awkward and perhaps a little clumsy. Not matter which side of her you encounter, its plain to see that she is an entertainer. Silences make her uncomfortable and she truly tries to get the most out of every single one of her encounters. People who know her well will say she's a little forgetful and not very clever, much like a goldfish. She is rather docile, preferring to use words rather than fists but that being said she can easily be goaded into battles if she, or the people she cares about, are being mocked. Nicole appears to treat her fans kindly and with great gratitude - even the more scarier ones - but it will be interesting to she how she handles herself at Beacon without a bodyguard. The attention she receives from her fame as a singer idol is mostly divided into fans and haters, although how she deals with both groups is changes on a case by case basis.

Strength: Nicole is rather light on her feet and possesses a surprising amount of upper body strength. This allows her to perform a number of acrobatic feats during battle. She also speaks Japanese.

Weakness: It goes without saying that due to her lightness, a well-aimed hit has the possibility of sending her flying. She is also easily taken in by sob stories. Since her attacks directly correlate with her voice, if she is ever muted in some way, (ie. she's sobbing really hard) she will not be able to successfully shoot her word blocks at people.

Semblance: Her words have the ability to physically touch people. The affect is subtle, like a hand softly brushing one's shoulder, when not amplified by dust. The feeling one receives from listening to Nicole speak while using her semblance is of warmth and comfort, and may be even uplifting. Although she does not possess any supernatural ability to persuade people to her will, this semblance does add a little bit of charm to her, and aren't charming people a little more influential? The color of her aura is a radiant gold that almost looks like it shimmers.


WEAPON

Name: Vox Tempest

Primary Form: If you look at it in technical terms, Nicole's primary weapon is simply her voice in conjunction with her semblance. However, its usefulness in battle is nothing compared to the power that her Dust Augmented Sound System provides her with. By singing into her engineered microphone, Nicole has the battle skill of transforming her words into large blocks of text that fly at the opponent. The blocks of text are actually physical manifestations of energy held together by dust and then propelled at amazing speeds towards the target. Depending on the particular property of the dust in use, its normal reaction when colliding with the target is to explode. Other than speaking normally to shoot words at people, she uses tongue twisters to launch long strings of words at them - but is only able to form a string of word blocks which her single breath allows. She must look in the direction in which she wishes to aim those words - this is because her words are amplified by the twin speakers which sit on top of her head (those cat ears she wears are actually rather powerful sound systems.) This power may not work if she is speaking english - although it is very effective when using kanji and other Japanese scripts.

Secondary Form: It transforms from a small handheld microphone to a microphone stand model. Innocent enough, but when the need to fight at close range arises, the microphone stand's prongs will fold in and create a seamless Bō Staff with a total height of 6ft (1.8 m). Because of its metallic nature, it has a rigid shaft and rather sturdy. Nicole is still practicing her technique in using this form so she can be a little clumsy with her blocks, strikes, sweeps, and entrapment.

History: When Nicole insisted that she wanted to raise awareness for the rights that Faunus deserve in this world, her recording label took advantage of the girl's wish and made her a pair of cat ears to wear while performing. After the scandal was revealed to the public, Nyuu/Nicole sought help from her father to find a practical use for those ears which he simply turned into a slick pair of speakers. When Nicole performed on the rooftop of the building, they discovered a happy side effect of those speakers. When her semblance was amplified, her words became fireworks that lit up the night sky and from then on, she became inspired to not only help Faunus, but to help fight Grimm as well.
